To earn Impressive in How to Fish, get the game to display a 5x killscore multiplier on a single kill. A recommended attempt is an airborne seagull headshot; one walkthrough advises using an Assault Rifle with a Laser Sight and pursuing several style modifiers. Treat that setup as a strategy, not a guaranteed formula—the visible 5x score is what matters.
What the Impressive achievement requires
Walkthroughs report that Impressive is awarded for reaching a 5x killscore multiplier on one kill. That is the achievement threshold, not proof that 5x is the game’s maximum multiplier. The Steam listing confirms that How to Fish has Steam achievements, but the specific 5x requirement comes from walkthrough reporting rather than the official listing. Steam’s game listing describes How to Fish as a physics-based fishing game from Dazed Games, released August 20, 2026.
How to attempt the seagull shot
- Reach the mainland. Destructoid recommends attempting the achievement after you get there.
- Equip an Assault Rifle and Laser Sight. Destructoid says a regular gun may also work, but recommends the rifle to make the attempt easier.
- Find a seagull in flight. The recommended route is a long-range shot while the bird is airborne; aim for its head.
- Try to meet the style conditions. Destructoid lists Headshot, Fly Fishing, One Shot One Kill, Overkill, and No Scope as modifiers to pursue.
- Check the displayed killscore. If the kill does not show 5x, adjust the attempt and try again rather than assuming the same setup guarantees the threshold.
NerdsChalk says the guns are hitscan and advises placing the crosshair directly on the seagull rather than leading it. That is guide advice, not an independently verified mechanic here; use the in-game result to judge whether your shot worked.

Which modifiers should you target?
The named modifiers are reported suggestions, not a complete official scoring specification. Guides differ on modifier details, and the How to Fish Game Wiki says the developer has not published an input-by-input scoring formula; it identifies numerical modifier values as community-derived. Accordingly, pursue the suggested conditions but do not expect a particular combination to produce 5x every time.

However, the available sources do not establish an official payout formula, a fixed conversion from killscore multiplier to cash, or a repeatable earnings rate. Treat the 5x attempt as an achievement strategy—not a guaranteed money-farming method.
