For How to Fish on Steam, the available controls chart lists WASD movement, mouse aiming, left-click fishing or firing, number keys 1–9 for switching weapons, and Tab for the collection view. It does not provide actual keys for several other actions, so it is a partial chart—not a verified complete default layout. Controller support is also unclear: Steam’s search result labels it “Full Controller Support,” while the readable store-page text and an independent guide do not agree. Check the current game settings and Steam listing for the build you are playing.
What game these controls apply to
This guide is for How to Fish, the Windows game by Dazed Games listed on Steam. Steam describes it as a 1–4 player physics-based fishing simulator involving fishing, selling catches, acquiring gear, completing quests, and visiting islands. The listing gives a release date of August 20, 2026, and system requirements for Windows 10 or later. Those details identify the title; they do not establish that the controls below are complete or official.

Does How to Fish support a controller?
The evidence is inconsistent. Steam’s search result labels How to Fish “Full Controller Support” and names Xbox and PlayStation controllers. However, that feature section was not present in the readable text of the Steam store page reviewed, and the independent guide says Steam lists no official controller support. The guide also says a gamepad can be forced through Steam Input, but that statement does not resolve whether the current game build recognizes a controller natively.
Because those sources conflict, do not treat the label as a guarantee for a particular controller or build. Check the current Steam listing and the game’s own settings. The independent guide recommends mouse and keyboard for trick shots; it does not provide comparative testing of controller aiming or menu navigation.

Can you rebind controls in How to Fish?
The independent guide reports that a few actions can be rebound in the settings menu. It does not identify which actions are remappable, give a menu path, or establish that every control can be changed. Open the current in-game settings and inspect the available control options; consult current patch notes if you need to confirm whether a specific binding can be changed. No official rebinding instructions are established by the available sources.
