To unlock How to Fish’s Trick Shot achievement, kill a creature with a 360 no scope: make a full turn, keep the scope off, then make the shot after the turn the creature’s killing hit. That is the community guides’ practical interpretation of Steam’s official condition, “Kill a creature with a 360 no scope.”
What the achievement requires
Steam’s achievement listing gives one condition: “Kill a creature with a 360 no scope.” It does not specify a weapon, creature species, island, or setup. Those details should not be treated as official requirements. See How to Fish Global Achievements on Steam.
Community walkthroughs interpret “360 no scope” as completing a full rotation with the scope off, then killing the creature with the resulting unscoped shot. The guides do not establish the game’s exact angle tolerance or confirm a precise timing window, so aim for a visibly complete turn rather than trying to cut it short. How to make an attempt
- Pick a manageable creature. Community guides suggest using a target with little enough health that your planned shot can finish it. Weakening it beforehand is a setup tip, not a separate achievement condition.
- Keep the scope off. The guides read “no scope” as firing unscoped, or from the hip.
- Turn fully, reacquire the target, and fire. Complete a full rotation before shooting, then make sure that unscoped shot kills the creature.
- Keep the attempt clear. Where practical, avoid other players or environmental damage finishing the creature, so it is clear that your post-turn shot got the kill.
Weapon and control choices
The official achievement text does not require a particular gun. NerdsChalk suggests a sniper rifle or shotgun as possible choices, but gives no comparative test results; regard them as options from that guide, not proven best loadouts. Choose a weapon you can use unscoped and that can deliver the finishing hit.

For mouse controls, NerdsChalk suggests lowering sensitivity and splitting the rotation across two quick swipes. This is optional PC advice, not a required setting, and the guide does not identify a sensitivity value that guarantees the achievement. An adjustable-sensitivity mouse is not required.
Why the achievement may not unlock
- The shot was scoped: Keep the scope off through the attempt and fire unscoped.
- The turn was incomplete: Make a visibly full rotation. The cited guides do not document an exact minimum-angle threshold.
- The creature survived: The post-turn shot needs to be the killing hit. Use a target that can be finished by that shot.
- Another source of damage got the kill: Isolate the attempt where practical, so another player or environmental damage does not obscure what delivered the final hit.
If it still fails, change one part of the setup at a time—such as the target’s remaining health or how you complete the turn—while keeping the scope off and ensuring your shot gets the kill. This is a troubleshooting method based on the community guides, not a confirmed description of the game’s internal achievement logic.
