To find a Satisfactory Session ID, join the multiplayer session from the main menu, press Esc, open Manage Session, choose Session Settings, and select Show. The number displayed there is the multiplayer join identifier you can copy or give to a friend. A single-player game does not have a multiplayer Session ID.
Find the Session ID in the current game menu
Use these steps while you are connected to the session whose ID you want to share:
- Start or join the session from the main menu. The lookup applies to a multiplayer session, not a standalone single-player game.
- Press
Escto open the in-game menu. - Select Manage Session.
- Open Session Settings.
- Find the Session ID and click Show if it is hidden.
- Copy the revealed value to the clipboard, or type it exactly as shown when sending it to a friend.
The ID is a session-level value. It is not the name you gave your factory and it is not the filename of the save on your drive.
What you need before looking for it
- A multiplayer session: single-player sessions do not expose a multiplayer Session ID.
- Access to the in-game menu: the ID is shown from inside the active session rather than from a random save-file folder.
- A compatible current menu: third-party guides describe the path above, but menu labels can change between game builds. Guide instructions were available on October 14, 2026, and some were published about 307 days earlier.
If a label is different in your build, look for the session-management screen and then a settings page containing the words Session or Multiplayer. Do not assume that a similarly named save or account number is the Session ID.

Why Manage Session may be missing
Some guide reports say Manage Session may not appear until you have passed the introduction screen from the same main menu. If the option is absent, check the following in order:
- Return to the main menu.
- Confirm that you have progressed beyond the introduction screen.
- Join or start the multiplayer session again.
- Open the in-game menu and check for Manage Session once more.
This is a menu-availability issue, not evidence that the save itself contains no identifier. If the labels still do not match, use the equivalent session-management and session-settings entries in your build; older screenshots and guides may not reflect the current interface.

Session ID, Session Name and save filename are different

If a friend asks for the Session ID, copy the value revealed by Show. Sending a factory’s display name or a number copied from a save directory can lead to a failed join even when the save itself is healthy.
Session types and when an ID exists
One guide groups Satisfactory sessions into four types: Single Player, IP, Steam and Epic. The same report says that two of the four types do not have a multiplayer Session ID, but its summary does not identify which two. The reliable distinction for this lookup is whether you are actually in a multiplayer session and whether the game exposes Manage Session > Session Settings.

This avoids treating platform names as a substitute for the actual menu state. If Manage Session is available and the Session ID can be revealed, that is the value to share; if the game does not present it, do not manufacture one from a filename or folder.

Set privacy before inviting friends
If you are inviting friends, set the multiplayer session privacy to Private in the session settings. Do this before distributing the ID so the intended players can join under the privacy mode you selected. The exact placement of the privacy control can vary with the game build, so use the privacy option shown in the same session-settings area.
Share the ID through a channel your group trusts. It is a join identifier, not a password or proof of account ownership, but anyone who receives it may be able to attempt a connection while the session is available. Do not post it publicly unless that is your intention.
Troubleshoot “Unable to find any session with that ID”
A common failure message is Unable to find any session with that ID.
Work through this checklist without substituting other numbers for the ID:

- Have the host verify the source. The host should open the active multiplayer session, follow the session-settings path, choose Show, and copy the value again.
- Check every character. If the value was typed instead of copied, compare it character by character. A missing or extra digit is enough to produce a different identifier.
- Confirm that the host is in multiplayer. A single-player session has no multiplayer Session ID to find.
- Check privacy. The host should review the session privacy setting and use Private when inviting a specific group of friends.
- Make sure both players are using the current menu state. Older guides can show labels that moved or changed. The host should rely on the value currently revealed by the game rather than a screenshot from an older build.
- Do not use the Session Name or save filename. Those identify the save or factory display name, not the multiplayer join identifier.
- If Manage Session is absent, resolve that first. Return to the main menu, pass the introduction screen if necessary, re-enter the multiplayer session, and look again.
These checks distinguish an unavailable ID from a copied value that is simply not the Session ID. If the game still cannot expose the setting after the menu and multiplayer checks, the labels or session flow in that build may differ from the guide path documented here.
Do not search the save folder for the normal Session ID
The normal player workflow is an in-game menu lookup. Searching the disk is especially confusing because the save’s internal Session Name, the .sav filename and account-related folder names are separate values.
For dedicated servers, some reports place saves in ~/.config/Epic/FactoryGame/Saved/SaveGames/server on Linux and %LocalAppData%FactoryGameSavedSaveGamesserver on Windows. These locations are reported, but no current official confirmation is available. Treat them as leads for locating server saves, not as a documented method for deriving a Session ID. Do not rename files or edit account folders in an attempt to create one.

Copying and sharing the ID without mistakes
Copy rather than retype
Use the game’s copy-to-clipboard control when it is available. If you must type the value, keep it in a code-formatted message so spaces, punctuation or line wrapping are not mistaken for part of the ID.
Send the complete value
Do not shorten the number for readability. A partial value is not a valid substitute. Ask the recipient to paste the complete string into the game’s join flow rather than transcribing it from a screenshot.

If the host has to reopen the session or verify settings, use the value currently displayed by the game. Do not combine a newly typed prefix with an older copied suffix.
Current-build caveat
The menu route in this guide is based on guide reports available on October 14, 2026. The live game build may use different labels, and one of the guides was approximately 307 days old at that date. A later update can move Manage Session, rename Session Settings or change how the value is revealed. The durable rule is to locate the active multiplayer session’s management/settings screen and use the value the game labels as the Session ID; never infer it from a save name or folder.
