Your ARK: Survival Ascended OSS ID appears when you run whoami in the in-game console. First go to Settings → Advanced, turn Console Access on, and save. Open the console, run the command, and copy the 32-character alphanumeric OSS ID shown in the result. That is the Account ID requested by the Survive the Ark support instructions.

On a PC installation of ARK: Survival Ascended, the dependable route described by the Nitrado guides is:

The support article titled “What is an Account ID?” identifies the OSS Id as your Account ID. When a support form asks for an OSS ID or Account ID, use the value printed by whoami, not a server name or a separate platform identifier.
What the OSS ID is
OSS means Online SubSystem. In ARK: Survival Ascended, the console’s whoami output shows an Online SubSystem ID, normally abbreviated as OSS Id, together with an ARK ID. The OSS Id is the account identifier used by the support instructions cited for this procedure.

The value is described as a 32-character alphanumeric string. “Alphanumeric” means it can contain letters and numbers; copy every character exactly as displayed. Do not add spaces, punctuation, quotation marks, or a label such as OSS Id: unless the form specifically asks you to include one.
The output can contain more than one identifier. Seeing an ARK ID as well does not mean both values are interchangeable. Read the label beside each value before copying it.

Step 1: Enable Console Access
Use the Advanced settings tab
From the game’s settings screen, select Advanced. Find Console Access, change it to ON, and choose Save. The console will not respond to the command until console access has been enabled.
Menu wording is a changeable part of the game interface. The labels above are the ones used by the Nitrado instructions found for this task; a later game update, platform build, or translated interface may place the same option elsewhere or use slightly different capitalization.
Save before trying the key
Leaving the settings screen without saving is an easy way to make the console appear unavailable. Treat the save action as part of the setup, then return to gameplay before testing the console key.

Step 2: Choose a console key
Assign a key if needed
Open the Keyboard tab in the controls area and look for Toggle Console. Assign a key that is not already needed for another action. This optional binding gives you a known way to open the console instead of guessing which key your installation uses.
About the tilde key
Some guides use the tilde key, written as ~, as the default console key. Keyboard layouts differ, so the key that produces a tilde on one physical keyboard may be in a different position on another. If a tilde press does nothing, use the key shown for Toggle Console in your own controls rather than assuming the default is unchanged.
Step 3: Open the console
The available instructions describe two closely related ways to open it. Nitrado’s guide says to press the assigned key twice to fully open the console interface. The Survive the Ark support article says to press the tilde key. In practice, start with the key assigned to Toggle Console; if the first press only changes a partial console view, press the same key a second time as described by Nitrado.
You should be able to see a text-entry area before entering the command. If the key only produces an ordinary game action, return to the controls and verify that Console Access was enabled and that the binding was saved.
Step 4: Run whoami
Click or focus the console input, type whoami using the exact spelling, and press Enter. The command is short, has no extra arguments, and should be entered as one word.

Read the resulting lines instead of copying the first string you see. Locate the line labeled OSS Id or Online SubSystem ID. The expected OSS value is 32 characters made up of letters and numbers. The same output may also show an ARK ID, which is a separate labeled value.
Copying the result accurately
If the console or operating system lets you select text, copy the complete OSS value directly. Otherwise, write it down carefully and compare the transcription character by character with the on-screen result. Pay particular attention to characters that look alike, such as the number 0 and the letter O, or the number 1 and the letter I.
Before submitting it, count the characters or paste it into a plain-text field where you can check its length. A value shorter or longer than 32 characters is a reason to recopy it, not a reason to remove or add characters.
Step 5: Use the ID in a support request
The Survive the Ark support instructions say that the Account ID can be typed into a ticket or pasted from the clipboard. Paste the OSS value into the requested Account ID or OSS ID field exactly as copied. If the form has separate fields for an ARK ID, Steam ID, or another identifier, follow the field label rather than placing the OSS value in every box.

OSS ID, ARK ID, and Steam ID are not the same field

The table reflects the labels and distinctions in the available guides. The guides do not establish a universal format for the ARK ID, so its appearance should not be used to infer that it is the account identifier support wants.

There is no Console Access option
Check that you are editing the game settings rather than a server-management panel, and look specifically under Advanced. The guides were written primarily for PC, and console editions may expose different controls. If your build does not show the option at all, the PC instructions may not map directly to your platform.
The console key does nothing
Confirm that Console Access was switched on and saved, then check the Keyboard → Toggle Console binding. Try the assigned key twice, because Nitrado describes a double press as the action that fully opens the interface. If you are using the tilde key from the support instructions, remember that keyboard layouts can place that key differently.
The console opens but the result is missing
Make sure the input focus is inside the console, enter whoami without a leading or trailing space, and press Enter. Scroll through the output if the console has multiple lines. The value you need is the one next to OSS Id, not necessarily the first identifier printed.
The copied value is not 32 characters
Reopen the output and copy the entire alphanumeric string. Do not “correct” the value by guessing missing characters. If it still does not contain 32 characters, record the exact output and explain the discrepancy in your support ticket rather than submitting a modified identifier.

You copied an ARK ID or Steam ID
Run whoami again and compare the labels. The OSS Id is the Online SubSystem value. The Steam ID mentioned in administrative instructions is a separate identifier, and the ARK ID is another value shown by the command.
Dedicated-server and Local Host reports
Some search results describe alternative routes: connect to a dedicated server, create a character, open the console by double-tapping Tab on PC, and run whoami; or start a Local Host map, create a Survivor, open the console, and run whoami or ListPlayers. Those reports were not mapped to a verified source page in the available material, so treat them as unconfirmed variations rather than the primary procedure.

If the standard settings route is unavailable on your installation, you can mention which environment you used—dedicated server, Local Host, or another mode—in a support ticket. Do not assume that a command or key documented for one environment works identically in another.
PC, Steam, Epic, and console considerations
The located guides are written mainly for PC. A console edition may have a different settings layout, controller mapping, or method for opening the command interface. The core concept remains the same only if your platform exposes the relevant console and accepts whoami; the available material does not verify identical steps for every console platform.
Search results also report that Epic players may need only the ARK ID, while Steam players may have matching values for the two identifiers. The source for that claim was not identified, so it should not override the label on your own whoami output or a support form’s instructions. If support asks specifically for OSS ID or Account ID, provide the OSS-labeled value.
Why instructions may look different after an update
Console Access, Advanced, and Toggle Console are interface labels rather than permanent command-line names. The Nitrado guide found for this topic was reported as approximately 894 days old, and its publication date was not confirmed on the page. That age matters because an update can move a setting, change a default key, or alter how many times the key must be pressed.

Use the labels visible in your current installation, but preserve the stable parts of the method: enable console access, open the console, run whoami, and select the value explicitly labeled OSS Id or Online SubSystem ID.
A precise submission checklist
- The game settings show Console Access enabled and saved.
- The console is fully open, not merely displaying a temporary overlay.
- The command entered is exactly
whoami. - The copied value is beside the OSS Id or Online SubSystem ID label.
- The string contains 32 alphanumeric characters.
- No spaces, punctuation, or neighboring ARK ID text were included.
- The value was placed in the support form’s OSS ID or Account ID field.
If all seven checks pass, you have followed the documented route for finding the ARK: Survival Ascended OSS ID. The value requested by the support instructions is the OSS Id produced by whoami.
