Start with the game’s official website, publisher or developer channels, character pages, trailers, and authorized gameplay videos. Search the game title and character name alongside terms such as “voice lines,” “voice clips,” or “voice actor.” These sources can help you hear or identify a line, but a recording’s availability online does not automatically give you permission to download, extract, or reuse it.
Where to look for a character’s voice lines
Official game and publisher sources
Check the game’s official site and verified publisher or developer channels first. Look for character pages, trailers, interviews, official media, or audio resources explicitly offered for that purpose. Confirm that a page is genuinely official and read any terms attached to its files. Not every game publishes a downloadable voice library.
Trailers and authorized gameplay
Official trailers and authorized gameplay videos can let you hear lines in context or identify where a line appears. They are not necessarily downloadable sample libraries, and permission to post gameplay does not necessarily allow separating its audio for another use.

The voice actor’s official portfolio
If official credits or announcements identify the performer, check the actor’s own official portfolio or demo reel. A public reel may demonstrate the actor’s work, but it does not establish that a particular game-character performance is available for reuse.

Fan quote pages and compilations
Fan-maintained pages or compilations can help locate a line, confirm wording, or find its scene. Verify the line against official material when possible. An uploader’s claim that a clip is available does not establish that it is authorized or licensed for your intended use.
How to search efficiently

Search the exact game title and character name with “voice lines,” “voice clips,” or “voice actor.” Add the language, edition, or platform if those details matter.

Prioritize the game’s official site and verified publisher or developer channels. Check whether the result offers an actual download or only playback in a trailer, interview, or gameplay video.

If you find a line through a fan page or compilation, use it as a lead and look for the same line in an official source.

Before downloading or using any recording, check the terms for the specific game and the specific use you have in mind.
The game title, character, language, and platform determine which sources are relevant; without those details, it is not possible to point to a particular official sample library.

Finding a recording is different from having reuse rights
Listening to a line in an official video is not the same as having permission to extract and distribute the game’s audio as a standalone file. Publisher and game rules vary. Ubisoft’s video policy, last updated in January 2016, encourages creative videos using its game content but says, “Do not take assets from our games (e.g. voice, music, items) and distribute them separately.” Check the current policy before relying on it: Ubisoft Video Policy.

SEGA’s streaming guideline bars posting individual game elements such as audio separately and directs users to check product-specific rules: SEGA streaming guidelines. Square Enix’s U.S. license for Final Fantasy VII Remake specifically prohibits extracting in-game audio for separate content uses, including videos and voice-synthesis software: Final Fantasy VII Remake license. Square Enix’s western policy has a narrower scope, applies to games developed and published by its western division, identifies franchise exclusions, and notes that additional game-specific rules may apply: Square Enix video policy.

Videos, monetization, and fair use
YouTube says monetizing game content depends on commercial-use rights granted by the game publisher; platform eligibility is not a blanket license for extracted audio. Its guidance also says use must be minimal without appropriate publisher authorization: YouTube monetization guidance for game content.
For U.S. users, the Copyright Office explains that limited portions may sometimes qualify as fair use for purposes such as commentary, criticism, news reporting, or scholarship, but there is no fixed number of words, musical notes, or percentage that guarantees it. The circumstances matter, and copyright owners may bring infringement actions over unauthorized use: U.S. Copyright Office fair-use FAQ. This is general U.S. guidance, not a determination about any particular game clip.

A short clip is not automatically fair use.
For a planned reuse, identify the game, source, jurisdiction, platform, and purpose, then check the current game-specific terms. If those terms do not clearly cover the use, seek permission. This is general information, not legal advice.
