To clear Thieves Retreat, open the metal gate below the Nochtean Gate Beacon, then cross the ruined bridge by following the faint outline of its invisible floor. Watch for lightning-using ghosts, use the elevator if you fall into the pit, and collect the Revered Gland in the room at the far side.
Reach the Thieves Retreat entrance
- Start at the Nochtean Gate Beacon and head north through the castle approach.
- Drop down one level to find the switch for the metal gate.
- Activate the switch, then go through the opened entrance route to enter the dungeon.
Walkthroughs describe the surrounding enemies differently, so use the beacon, northward route, lower level, and gate switch as your landmarks rather than relying on a specific enemy sequence. See the Thieves Retreat walkthrough and dungeon-location guide for their route descriptions.
Prepare for the lightning ghosts
The main crossing is narrow, and a walkthrough describes floating ghosts that attack with lightning. It reports that these attacks cannot be blocked, so avoid depending on blocking alone while crossing.
- Mitigation: The walkthrough suggests lightning resistance, including Proxima with Ampereon and a Galvanic Shard. Treat this as an optional setup, not a requirement.
- Close-range option: It also suggests Proxima’s Biosampler for pulling enemies in on the narrow crossing. This is a guide recommendation, not a tested ranking over other tactics.
- Movement: Take the crossing slowly and keep track of the route while enemies are active.

Follow the invisible floor across the bridge
- In the central room, approach the broken bridge edges over the flooded pit.
- Look for the faint, wispy outline of solid floor. Follow that outline instead of walking straight across the visible gap.
- Use the floating bodies as visual markers when the route turns.
- Continue toward the far-side doorway, marked by lit torches.
The path can be hard to see, so use the outline and bodies together rather than guessing at a straight line. The route walkthrough describes these visual clues.
If you fall into the pit
A fall drops you into the lower flooded area, where enemies are present. Guides report an elevator operated by a lever that returns you to the bridge, so falling does not require a full restart. See the PowerPyx walkthrough and the Thieves Retreat guide for the recovery route.

Collect the Revered Gland
At the far side, enter the room and take the Revered Gland. A walkthrough reports that picking it up opens a portal back to the dungeon entrance. It also says the Gland can be spent at a Beacon to increase Mether’s Pulse capacity; these mechanics are reported by a secondary guide rather than official documentation. Optional exploration
If your goal is only the Gland, the reported side content can be skipped.
