To open Settings on a VIZIO Smart TV, use the TV’s remote to open its on-screen menu or settings interface, then choose the category you need. The button name and menu path vary by model, so check your TV’s manual for the exact controls and labels.
How do I get to Settings on my VIZIO TV?
- Identify your TV model. Find the model number on the TV’s label or in its documentation.
- Open the matching manual. Use the VIZIO Support hub to find model documentation. VIZIO model pages link to manuals and, for some models, quick-start guides.
- Follow the manual’s remote instructions. Use the named button or sequence to open the on-screen menu or Settings interface, then select the setting you want. Do not assume a button or path described for another VIZIO model will match yours.
Look for the category that corresponds to your goal—such as picture, sound, network, accessibility, privacy, or system behavior. The exact category names and locations depend on the model.
Why does my remote or menu look different?
VIZIO TVs do not all use the same remote or menu layout. For example, VIZIO’s D55x-G1 model page lists an XRT136 remote, while the M43Q6M-K04 model page documents a different model and links to its own guides. These examples are model-specific, not a universal guide to VIZIO remotes or menu paths.

Where is the menu button on my VIZIO remote?
Check the manual for your exact TV model to identify the button that opens its menu or settings interface. There is no single button name or sequence established for every VIZIO Smart TV, and the remote supplied with one model may differ from another.
What if I do not have a working remote?
Use VIZIO’s Help with Your Remote support topic to find relevant assistance. VIZIO also provides guidance on pairing its phone app, but do not assume app control is available for every TV: check the app-pairing instructions and your model documentation first.
