For shoppers in the United States, there usually is not a second major authorized chain to substitute for Home Depot: Techtronic Industries’ 2024 annual report, filed in 2025, describes Home Depot as the exclusive distributor of Ryobi power tools, and says Ryobi outdoor power equipment is sold exclusively through Home Depot stores in North America. If your local store does not carry a tool, search the exact Ryobi model on Ryobi’s US site, then use Home Depot’s online catalog, store-inventory and delivery tools. Outside the US, use the Ryobi site for your country because the retail partner changes by region.
What “not sold at Home Depot” can mean
A tool that is missing from a particular store is not necessarily unavailable from the brand’s US channel. It may be online-only for your area, temporarily out of stock, offered as a kit rather than a bare tool, limited edition, discontinued, or assigned to a different regional assortment. Treat “I cannot see it on the shelf” and “the model is no longer sold” as separate questions.
The US channel itself is unusually clear. Techtronic Industries (TTI), Ryobi’s parent company, states in its 2024 annual report filed in 2025:
“The Group has a long term supply agreement with The Home Depot for the exclusive distribution of the RYOBI brand power tools.”

Techtronic Industries 2024 annual report
The same report separately describes Ryobi and Homelite outdoor power equipment as sold in North America exclusively through Home Depot retail stores. That is the basis for expecting a US buyer to start with Ryobi and Home Depot rather than assuming another national hardware chain is an official alternative. It does not prove that every individual resale, clearance, marketplace or secondhand listing is unauthorized; it means the official distribution arrangement points to Home Depot.
The reliable US search process
1. Identify the exact product and model number
Begin on the official Ryobi US site and record the complete model number, not just a description such as “18V blower.” Similar-looking tools can belong to different voltage systems, generations or kits. The model number also distinguishes a tool-only package from a bundle that includes a battery, charger or accessories.
- Copy the model number exactly, including letters, hyphens and suffixes.
- Note whether the page describes a bare tool, a kit, a limited-edition item or an accessory.
- Write down the battery family and any included charger before searching elsewhere.
Use both the model number and the everyday product name when searching. A number-first search is generally less ambiguous, while the name can reveal a kit or category page that uses different wording.

Official US product pages provide the current purchase path for that particular item. Some direct the buyer to purchase online or at a local Home Depot. Ryobi’s US limited-edition page, for example, says its featured products can be bought online or at a local Home Depot while supplies last.
That limited-edition page has listed examples including a snow shovel, a fan kit, a blower kit and a hand vacuum. Those examples show how quickly a special collection can change; they are not a promise that any one item remains available. Follow the purchase option attached to the exact model rather than assuming every Ryobi product has the same stock status.

3. Search the model number in Home Depot’s Ryobi catalog
Enter the complete model number in Home Depot’s US Ryobi catalog. If the number produces no result, try the product name and then narrow the results to the relevant category. The catalog groups tools, batteries and chargers, outdoor equipment, cleaning products, storage and accessories under its Ryobi assortment.
Search results can differ for a bare tool and a kit, so open each plausible result and compare the model number shown in the specifications. Do not substitute a visually similar model until you have checked its voltage, included components and compatibility.

4. Check store inventory, shipping and delivery
Once the correct listing is open, set your preferred store and inspect the available fulfillment methods. Home Depot’s catalog exposes store-stock and delivery filters; the result may show a nearby store, shipping to an address, pickup, or no current availability. Stock is location- and time-specific, so a result that is unavailable today can change without the product page changing.
- Select the store closest to the intended pickup location.
- Check nearby stores if the first location shows no stock.
- Compare shipping and delivery dates with pickup dates.
- Confirm that the fulfillment option applies to the exact model or kit, not an automatically substituted item.
- Save the model number and listing details if you need to check again later.
5. Classify the result before concluding it is unavailable

“Ryobi” is a brand name, not one universal battery connector. Home Depot’s current catalog distinguishes at least four families: 18V ONE+, 40V, USB Lithium and 80V. A battery from one family should not be assumed to operate a tool from another.

The Home Depot battery-platform page states, “Any RYOBI ONE+ battery works with any RYOBI ONE+ product.” That statement is limited to ONE+ batteries and ONE+ products; it is not a claim that every Ryobi battery fits every Ryobi tool.

Ryobi’s 2026 US limited-edition page describes 30 years of 18V ONE+ battery compatibility. That is the brand’s own product-page statement, not an independently audited statistic. Ryobi Australia separately says its 18V ONE+ system began using a consistent battery platform in 1996 and that its Australian range has more than 200 products. Those Australian figures describe that regional range and should not be used as the size of the US catalog.

Rule out a model-number mistake
Transposed digits, omitted suffixes and confusion between a kit number and a tool number are common causes of failed searches. Recopy the number from the tool’s label or manual, then search that number on both the Ryobi site and Home Depot. Compare photographs, voltage and included components before treating two close numbers as interchangeable.
Separate discontinued, limited-edition and out-of-stock
A limited-edition page explicitly signals a finite run, while an out-of-stock listing still identifies a current model. A product that disappears entirely may be discontinued, replaced, or listed only on another regional site. The official pages cited here do not provide a complete discontinued-product database, so absence from a search is not proof of a particular status.
Look for the regional version
Model numbers, plugs, chargers, safety labels and retailer arrangements can differ by country. A product found on a foreign site may not be the same electrical or warranty version sold in the United States. Confirm voltage, charger design and local service terms before importing anything.
Buying from a marketplace, reseller or secondhand seller
A listing outside the official route may exist, but the cited official sources do not verify any particular marketplace seller, Amazon listing, current inventory or warranty treatment. Do not describe such a listing as authorized merely because the title contains “Ryobi.” Evaluate the individual listing instead.

Where to buy Ryobi outside the United States
Australia
Ryobi Australia states, “In Australia, the brand is distributed through Bunnings Warehouse.” Its store locator says all Ryobi products can be purchased exclusively at Bunnings. Therefore, an Australian shopper should use the Ryobi Australia site to identify the product and then check Bunnings availability, rather than applying the US Home Depot arrangement.
Europe
The Ryobi Europe landing page links to separate country-specific sites. Use the site for the country where the tool will be used, then follow the retailer and service instructions on that national page. The European landing page alone does not establish one retailer for every European country.
Other regions
Start with the regional selector or country site on Ryobi’s official web presence. Retail arrangements, model numbers, mains voltage, chargers, warranty rules and stock can all vary. If no local retailer is identified, confirm import duties, electrical compatibility and after-sales support before ordering from another country.

Bare tool
A bare tool can be economical when you already own a battery and charger from the same family. Confirm that your existing battery is the correct platform and that the listing is not a visually similar 40V, USB Lithium or 80V product when you need ONE+.

Kit
A kit may include a battery, charger and accessories that are difficult to source separately. Compare the kit’s model number with the bare tool’s number; they may not be identical even when the tool body looks the same. Check the battery capacity and charger included, not only the word “battery” in the title.
Replacement or newer model
If the exact model is discontinued, compare the specifications of any replacement: voltage family, cutting or blowing capacity where stated, dimensions, included guards, controls and accessory interface. A newer model is not automatically compatible with every accessory from the old one.
