Before you deploy, read the active quest’s full objective and map. Track the items it needs, complete the objective, move any recovered quest item into a Safe Pocket if the game allows it, then make extraction your priority. A quest item is not always something you must find during a raid: some objectives use materials brought from your stash, while others ask you to search, fight, interact with an object, or finish several tasks in one round.
First, identify what the quest actually asks you to do
Check the active quest in your in-game quest panel rather than relying on the phrase “quest item.” Objectives can ask you to locate and collect something, bring materials to an interaction, use or repair an object, defeat enemies, or complete multiple steps during one raid. The item description and current quest wording are the best guides to what is needed now; details may change between game updates.
For example, PC Gamer’s walkthrough of Eyes on the Prize, dated February 23, 2026, says you need three Wires in your inventory to interact with the broken solar panel. The Wires can be brought into the match or scavenged during it. That is one quest’s requirement, not a rule for every objective. Read the Eyes on the Prize walkthrough.
Before deploying, plan around the objective
- Read every objective step. Note the target, requested item or interaction, and any “In One Round” condition. If the objective names a specific map or location, verify it in the current quest panel.
- Track items you still need. The community-maintained ARC Raiders Wiki describes workshop tracking options that tag wanted items. Use the current in-game labels, since what is useful for a quest can change. See the wiki’s Getting Started guide.
- Decide whether to bring materials. If the objective accepts an item from your inventory, check whether you already have it in your stash before searching the map. Do not assume a required material must be looted during the raid.
- Leave room and time to extract. Plan for the trip to the objective and onward to an available extraction point. The nearest option is not automatically the best: consider distance, access requirements, exposure, remaining time, and whether the valuable item can go in a Safe Pocket.
During the raid, protect the objective item
- Follow the objective, not every loot opportunity. Reach the specified target and complete the requested interaction or collection. If a quest requires more than one step, check the panel to confirm what remains.
- Use a Safe Pocket when permitted. The reviewed guides say items in Safe Pockets survive death, while other carried loot is lost if you die before extraction. If the game lets you place the recovered quest item in a Safe Pocket, do so promptly. ArcMaps’ quest guide and the Steam Community guide to items to keep for quests describe this distinction.
- Stop taking optional risks when the exit matters more. Once the objective is done and the item is secured as far as the game allows, prioritize a viable extraction over extra loot if your route, health, or remaining time is becoming uncertain.
Plan for extraction rather than treating it as instant
Extraction involves exposure: a community wiki describes calling an elevator, waiting for it to arrive, then activating it from a booth. That guide estimates the arrival wait at roughly 45 seconds, but treat that as guide-reported and map-dependent, not a universal timer. The call and activity around extraction can attract ARC and other Raiders, so allow time to reach the point and complete its sequence. No single extraction option is established as safest for every map or match.

Pay attention to audio as well as the map. The wiki notes that thruster buzzing can serve as an early warning of ARC activity. A headset with a microphone is optional; audio awareness and communication may help, but neither guarantees that you will keep your loot.
If the quest item or interaction does not work
- The target will not interact: Re-read the exact active objective and confirm that you are at the named object or location. Similar-looking objects may not satisfy the quest.
- The interaction says you lack materials: Check the item description and the inventory location the objective requires. Having an item somewhere in your stash may not count if it must be carried in the raid.
- You are unsure whether the task must happen in one raid: Look for “In One Round” in the objective. If it is present, complete the specified steps in the same raid.
- You are about to sell or recycle a questionable item: Check its current labels and tracked-item status first. A community guide’s Library Books example illustrates why an item that looks ordinary may be relevant to a quest; it does not mean every book or similar item is required.
- You completed the task but still have the item: Check whether the objective requires a separate delivery or extraction step. Do not assume that picking something up automatically completes every quest.
These inventory and extraction details come from third-party guides and community material, not official game documentation. Check the live quest panel and item descriptions for the requirements in your current version of ARC Raiders.
