If older messages are missing from Samsung Email, first check the account’s Email sync period: a short setting can keep older mail from appearing in the app. In Samsung Email, open Menu (three horizontal lines) > Settings > your email account > Email sync period, then choose a longer period. Return to the mailbox and scroll to the bottom, then swipe upward to load older messages. Labels and placement can vary by Galaxy model and software version.
1. Extend the Samsung Email sync period

Open the Samsung Email app.

Tap Menu (the three horizontal lines), then tap the Settings gear.

Select the account where older mail is missing.

Tap Email sync period and choose a longer duration. Samsung gives settings such as three days or one week as examples of short periods that can limit which older messages appear.

Return to the account’s mailbox and check for the messages again.

These steps apply to Samsung Email. The setting can be named differently or unavailable depending on the email provider, app version, Galaxy model, or operating system. See Samsung’s instructions for missing old emails in Samsung Email.
2. Load older messages or search the mailbox
Scroll to fetch more
In the mailbox, scroll to the bottom of the message list and swipe upward to load older messages. Samsung’s guidance says older messages are usually stored on the provider’s email server, but whether Samsung Email loads them can depend on the provider. Samsung Germany’s email-app guidance describes this server-side availability.

Search using a clue
Tap the magnifying-glass icon on the message-list screen and search for a word or subject from the email. Searching can be quicker than browsing a long mailbox; Samsung documents this option in its missing-email troubleshooting steps.
3. Check whether the email is somewhere other than Inbox
A message absent from Inbox is not necessarily deleted. Sign in to your provider’s webmail or use its own app to verify that the message still exists, and inspect other folders. Microsoft notes that archived messages are stored in Archive for Exchange, Microsoft 365, iCloud, Outlook.com, and Yahoo accounts; Gmail and Google Workspace use All Mail. 4. If you use Gmail, distinguish its sync setting
Gmail has its own Android setting, Days of mail to sync. Google says messages outside that synced range may not be available offline. This is Gmail-specific guidance; it is not the same as Samsung Email’s account-level Email sync period. For Gmail steps, see Google’s Gmail settings help. If a message appears missing in Gmail, Google also recommends searching and checking its guidance at Gmail messages are missing on Android.

Confirm the message exists in the provider’s webmail or app; Samsung Email cannot display mail that the provider no longer has or does not make available to the app.

Recheck the selected account and its sync-period setting. Samsung notes that paths and labels can vary across device and operating-system versions; its Korean support guidance on email synchronization also cautions that interface details may differ.
