Start with Nintendo’s official US Sales & Deals page to see offers currently available in that store, then use a price tracker to check a game’s history and set a wishlist alert. Before buying, confirm the exact edition, region, current price and sale deadline. A discount percentage by itself does not tell you whether the price is unusually low for that game.
Use Nintendo’s store to confirm what is on sale now
Nintendo’s official US Sales & Deals page is the best first check for offers currently available through the US Nintendo store. Nintendo says the page covers digital games, downloadable content (DLC) and merchandise, and advises visitors to check back for offers. Its guidance is: “Check back often for featured offers and game recommendations, or explore all sales and deals.”
That page answers a specific question: what offers are listed by Nintendo’s US store when you look. It does not establish a universal sale calendar, show that every Switch game is discounted, or tell you whether an offer is exceptional compared with that title’s earlier prices. Publishers and games can have different sale timing, so avoid assuming that a particular season or interval guarantees a discount.

A practical workflow for finding and buying a deal
- Check the official store for current offers. Open Nintendo’s US Sales & Deals page and look for the game or content you want. Treat the displayed offer as US-specific; availability and prices may differ in other countries.
- Search for the exact game in a tracker. Find the title on a service such as Deku Deals or NTPrices. Confirm that the result is the game you intend to buy, rather than similarly named DLC, a bundle or another edition.
- Read the price history before judging the discount. Compare the current offer with the game’s own recorded prices. Ask whether it appears to be a new low in the available history, a price the game has reached before, or simply a reduction from its listed price. A tracker’s record is only as useful as its coverage and the period it represents.
- Add wanted games to a wishlist and set an alert. Deku Deals describes email notifications for wishlisted games, while NTPrices describes price-drop email alerts and target-price tracking. Where a service supports a target price, choose a figure you would genuinely be willing to pay rather than treating every discount as a reason to buy.
- Compare the same edition and format. Check whether each listing is for the base game, a deluxe edition, DLC or a bundle. Then compare a digital offer with physical cartridge listings, including used copies where available. A lower displayed amount may not be a better offer if it is for a different edition or excludes costs such as shipping.
- Verify the live listing before paying. Reopen the store or seller page and confirm the region, edition, displayed price, stock and sale end date. Check the final amount and applicable payment terms; an alert is a prompt to look, not a reservation.
How to tell whether a discount is worth acting on
Compare a game with its own history
There is no single discount percentage that makes every Switch game a good deal. The useful comparison is between the price in front of you and that title’s past prices in the same format and, where possible, region. A game’s own record can show whether the current price is below its previously observed offers, close to a price it has reached repeatedly, or not low relative to its history.
Read the tracker’s wording carefully. “All-time low” or similar language can refer to the lowest price within the service’s records, not necessarily the lowest price ever offered everywhere. This distinction matters especially when a service has a short tracking history. eShopDeal says its US tracking began on September 7, 2026, so its “lowest tracked” price can only describe prices it has recorded since that date.
History is a decision aid, not a promise about what comes next. A recorded low can help you decide whether to act at the current price, but it cannot tell you when or whether the game will be discounted again. If the current offer is not compelling to you, a target alert lets you wait without repeatedly checking. If you need the game now, compare the offer with your budget and the alternatives available in the same edition rather than waiting solely for a theoretical lower price.
Use your target price to make the decision in advance
Set a target based on what the game is worth to you and what its history shows, if that history is available. Then an alert gives you a reason to revisit the listing without requiring you to check stores repeatedly. If the offer is above your target, you can wait; if it meets your target, check the edition and live terms before deciding. The target is a personal threshold, not a prediction that the game will reach that price.
A target also makes alerts easier to act on consistently. Decide in advance whether you want only the base game, whether a bundle is worthwhile because you want its additional content, and whether a physical copy is acceptable. Otherwise, an alert for a discounted but unsuitable edition can look like a deal until you inspect what it includes. Wishlist notifications identify an opportunity to review, not an instruction to buy.

Weigh time, availability and exact contents
An offer with a deadline creates a time limit, but it does not make a purchase automatically worthwhile. Check when the sale ends and whether the listing contains the game or content you want. If you are comparing digital and physical options, include the seller’s terms, stock and any shipping cost that applies to the physical listing. A price alert can arrive while a sale is active, but it cannot guarantee the price will still be available when you open the store.
For physical listings, distinguish the listed price from the final cost: shipping may change the comparison, and a displayed price drop does not guarantee that the item is still in stock. Check the retailer’s current page for the seller and availability. For a digital purchase, check the region and final displayed amount at the store. In either case, use the tracker to find and compare leads, then make the decision from the live listing.

Price trackers compared by the job you need done
The services below describe different strengths. Coverage, live counts and listings are service-published information, not independently audited measures of the whole market. Choose based on whether you need broad store tracking, regional eShop comparisons, physical listings or a longer price record.
| Service | What it says it tracks or provides | Useful for | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deku Deals | Official-store price tracking across Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox and Steam; wishlist email notifications; physical-game listings and displayed retail price drops. | Following a wishlist, comparing a digital listing with physical game prices, or tracking games across more than one platform. | Its live deals, sale end dates and displayed price drops can change. Confirm the exact edition, seller, stock and current terms before buying. |
| NTPrices | eShop price histories, all-time-low indicators, comparisons across eShop regions, target-price tracking, free price-drop email alerts, and physical and used-game listings. NTPrices describes coverage across 50+ regions. | Inspecting recorded eShop prices, setting a target, or comparing listed prices across regions and formats. | Its coverage total and deal counts are service-published live figures, not durable independent market statistics. A converted regional price may not include taxes or payment fees. |
| eShopDeal | US price tracking, regional price conversion and a recorded-price history. The service says it checks prices daily and does not know Nintendo’s sale schedule in advance. | Checking its US records or viewing converted regional prices as a comparison starting point. | US tracking began September 7, 2026; “lowest tracked” is limited to that period. Converted prices exclude card fees and taxes, according to the service. |
These descriptions are not a ranking. If you mainly want a wishlist email, prioritize the service’s alert tools. If you want a physical-versus-digital comparison, check whether it lists the exact physical edition and seller terms. For a regional comparison, treat the converted figure as a starting point and verify the actual payment requirements and final cost yourself.
NTPrices’ service information also appears in its Google Play listing, updated September 25, 2026. As with its regional coverage and deal counts, app features are descriptions from the service, not an independent guarantee that every price or listing will be present. Check the tracker’s current page and the relevant store when you use it.

Digital, physical and used copies: compare like with like
A digital eShop offer is not automatically cheaper than a cartridge, and a physical listing is not directly comparable until you know that it is the same game edition. Use a tracker’s physical listings as leads: availability and retailer prices can change, and the listing may not include shipping or reflect the seller’s current stock.

- Digital game: Confirm that the offer is for the base game or the edition you want, and check the displayed regional price and deadline.
- Bundle or deluxe edition: Check what the listing includes. A higher price may reflect additional content, while a cheaper listing may not contain the same items.
- DLC: Confirm that it is add-on content for the game you own or plan to buy, rather than the full game.
- Physical cartridge: Compare the exact edition and seller, then check stock, shipping and the live price.
- Used copy: Verify the item and seller terms. NTPrices describes physical and used-game listings; availability is not guaranteed.
The aim is not simply to find the smallest number on a page. Compare the total cost and what you receive. If no physical copy is listed, do not assume one exists; the available information may simply not show a comparable offer.
What to know before comparing another eShop region
Regional trackers can show that a game has different listed prices across eShop regions. A converted price, however, is not necessarily the amount you can pay. eShopDeal says its conversions do not include card fees or taxes, and regional price comparison alone does not establish the current Nintendo account or payment requirements for a purchase from another country.
Before acting on a regional difference, check Nintendo’s current account and payment rules for the relevant country, whether your payment method is accepted, and any fees or taxes that may apply. Do not infer the final payable amount from currency conversion alone. If those requirements are unclear, compare offers in the region where you normally purchase rather than treating a foreign listing as guaranteed savings.
This is why a region comparison should be the beginning of a cost check, not the conclusion. A tracker may display a converted number that looks lower, but the final comparison depends on whether you can complete the purchase under current rules and what your payment provider charges. Verify those details before switching regions or relying on a foreign price as your budget.

When do Switch games go on sale?
There is no reliable sale schedule established here that predicts when a particular Switch game will be discounted. Nintendo recommends checking its US offers page often, and eShopDeal says it does not know Nintendo’s sale schedule in advance. Individual offers can appear or end at different times, so a wishlist alert is more practical than relying on a fixed calendar.
Use the official page to check what is available now and a tracker to monitor the games you care about. When an alert arrives, verify that the sale is still active and inspect the exact listing before buying.
Common deal-finding mistakes and how to avoid them
- Taking the discount percentage at face value: Check the game’s price history. A large percentage off a listed price does not, by itself, establish that the current offer is an unusually low price.
- Treating a tracker’s “lowest” as an all-time fact: Look for the service’s tracking period and region. eShopDeal’s US record starts September 7, 2026, so its lowest tracked price is bounded by that date.
- Comparing different editions: Confirm whether a listing is the base game, a deluxe edition, DLC or a bundle before comparing prices.
- Assuming an alert holds a price for you: Open the listing promptly and confirm the live price, deadline and stock. Notifications do not reserve an offer.
- Assuming physical listings are in stock: Recheck the retailer’s page for current availability, seller and shipping terms.
- Equating converted regional prices with savings: Check relevant account and payment rules, taxes and card fees before treating the converted amount as your final cost.
- Expecting every title to go on sale: Neither the official offers page nor a tracker description establishes that every game will be discounted or follows one shared schedule. Set an alert and make your own wait-or-buy decision.
- Relying on live tracker counts as market-wide totals: A tracker’s coverage and deal counts describe that service’s listings and can change. Use them to navigate the service, not as a durable measure of all available offers.
A simple routine that avoids constant manual checking
For a short wishlist, the process can be low-maintenance: check Nintendo’s US Sales & Deals page when you are ready to buy, add specific games to a tracker, and set a target price where that feature is available. Let the alert tell you when to revisit a game, then inspect its history and compare the exact edition and format. Recheck the live price and deadline before paying.
That routine separates three decisions that are easy to blur together: whether there is an offer now, whether it is a good price for that title, and whether the specific listing is the right purchase for you. The store answers the first; a price history can inform the second; the final edition, seller, region and checkout terms determine the third.
For a practical recurring check, keep the wishlist focused on games you actually intend to buy, not every title that happens to be discounted. Review an alert against your target and history; if it is not right, leave the item on the list and wait. When it is right, confirm the sale is still live and that the listing matches the game, edition and region you want. This turns price tracking into a buying aid rather than a stream of discounts competing for attention.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find the best Switch and Switch 2 deals?
Start with Nintendo’s official Sales & Deals page for the region you normally use, then search for the exact game or edition in a price tracker such as Deku Deals or NTPrices. Compare its recorded history, set a target alert where available, and check physical listings if you are open to a cartridge. For Switch 2 titles, search the exact title and platform in the tracker and confirm that the listing is for the intended version; the services’ listed coverage should not be treated as proof that every title or offer is included. Verify price, stock, sale deadline and final checkout terms on the live store or retailer page.
Can I buy Switch games cheaper from another region?
A tracker may show a lower converted regional price, but currency conversion alone does not establish your final cost or whether you can make the purchase. Check Nintendo’s current account and payment requirements for that country, confirm your payment method is accepted, and account for possible taxes and card fees. eShopDeal specifically says its conversions exclude card fees and taxes. Compare the final payable amount and terms before treating a regional listing as a saving.
When do Switch games go on sale?
There is no dependable schedule here for predicting when a particular game will be discounted. Nintendo recommends checking its US Sales & Deals page often, and eShopDeal says it does not know the sale schedule in advance. Add games you want to a tracker wishlist and use alerts rather than assuming a set calendar.
Recommended Free Tools
Do price alerts guarantee I can buy a game at the notified price?
No. An alert tells you to check the listing; it does not reserve the offer. Prices, stock and sale end dates can change before you open the store. Confirm the current price, edition, availability and deadline at the live store or retailer before checkout.
How can I tell if a Switch discount is a new low?
Compare the offer with that game’s recorded price history in the same format and, when possible, the same region. Check the tracker’s wording and tracking period: “lowest tracked” means lowest within its records, not necessarily the lowest price ever available everywhere. For example, eShopDeal says its US tracking began September 7, 2026, so its historical low is limited to prices recorded since then.
The Bottom Line
Check Nintendo’s official US offers for what is available now, then use a tracker’s price history and wishlist alerts to judge whether a discount suits your target. Before buying, verify the exact edition, region, live price, sale deadline, stock and final costs—including shipping or payment fees where relevant. A tracker can save checking time, but only the current store or retailer listing confirms the deal.
