The safest way to find missable content in Tales of Eternia Remastered is to turn on every destination indicator, treat hourglass-marked events as time-limited, and finish the Katrine-and-Pierre sequence before crossing Mt. Farlos. The remaster adds destination icons that identify objectives, valuable-item locations, limited-time events and artes-learning events. They reduce guesswork, but they do not replace manual saves or a written checklist.
The Katrine/Pierre chain is the clearest documented missable side quest. It has six encounters, a hard timing warning before the party crosses Mt. Farlos, and a final result at Inferia’s Royal Observatory after the story returns from Celestia. Completing the whole chain awards Farah’s “Love Negotiator” title and the good ending for the pair.
What can actually be missed?
There is no authoritative, remaster-specific catalogue that lists every missable chest, recipe, title, monster-book entry or brief non-player-character scene. That means a guide claiming a complete numerical total would be overstating what is documented. Instead, use two levels of certainty:

- Potentially limited content: anything the game marks with an hourglass, plus valuable-item locations marked with stars. The official remaster information identifies hourglass icons as events connected to titles and items whose acquisition period is limited.
Blue exclamation icons identify events that teach new artes. They are useful for completion, but the available documentation does not classify every blue-marked event as permanently missable. Treat an hourglass as a deadline, a star as a reason to investigate the location promptly, and a blue exclamation mark as a learning opportunity.

This approach is more reliable than following an unverified list of “all missables.” The interface gives you a current reminder of what the remaster considers important, while a manual save protects you if you overlook an icon or cross a story gate too soon.
Turn on the remaster’s tracking aids
Open Menu > Custom > Destination Icons. The settings let you toggle the destination markers added for the remastered release. Enable all of them when you are exploring for optional content; you can disable individual categories later if the map becomes visually busy.

The markers are navigation aids, not a promise that every optional conversation is represented. A town resident or short scene can still require you to speak to people without a special icon. After each major story objective, spend a few minutes checking the current town, shops and accessible routes even when no marker is visible.

The Katrine and Pierre quest: the six encounters
The following route follows the remaster guide’s progression. The first five encounters occur during the Inferia portion of the adventure; the sixth becomes available after the Valley of Fire Spirits. The ship and Barole visits can be completed in either order.
1. Mintche: start the conversation near the university
In Mintche, go to the exercise field near the university entrance and trigger the opening conversation. Do not assume that merely entering Mintche completes this step: approach the field and confirm that the scene has played. If you are keeping a manual checklist, record the encounter immediately so you do not mistake a later visit for the opening trigger.

2. Morle: help at the food shop
Travel to Morle and speak with Katrine at the food shop. The scene involves helping her with directions. Talk to her directly rather than relying on a general town conversation, and leave only after the dialogue has finished.
3. Regular ship from Inferia Harbor: use the dining area
After clearing the Forest of Temptation, board the regular ship from Inferia Harbor. Find Katrine in the dining area and speak with her. This is a story-state-dependent encounter: arriving at the harbor before the Forest of Temptation is cleared does not substitute for the required visit.
4. Barole: visit the bookstore
In Barole, go to the bookstore and speak with Katrine. The remaster guide allows the ship encounter and the Barole bookstore encounter in either order, so you do not need to reload simply because you visited Barole first. You do still need both conversations.
5. Chambard: check the armor-shop fitting room
In Chambard, enter the armor shop and go to the fitting room to find Katrine. Speak with her there. The fitting-room location is easy to miss if you only browse the shop’s purchasing interface, so walk into the room and look for the conversation trigger.
6. Regulus Dojo: resolve the post-Valley encounter
After clearing the Valley of Fire Spirits, visit Regulus Dojo and resolve the encounter. This is the final one of the six documented meetings. If you are using a checklist, mark the chain complete only after the dojo scene has ended; opening the building or speaking to an unrelated character is not the same as resolving Katrine and Pierre’s event.

The Mt. Farlos cutoff and the final result
Finish all six encounters before crossing Mt. Farlos. This is the clearest point-of-no-return warning attached to the quest. Before you cross, verify each location on your checklist: Mintche, Morle, the regular ship’s dining area, Barole’s bookstore, Chambard’s armor-shop fitting room and Regulus Dojo.

After the story returns from Celestia, travel to the Royal Observatory in Inferia. That visit reveals the outcome and applies the reward based on how many encounters you completed. Do not expect the ending scene to appear immediately after the sixth meeting; the resolution is deliberately deferred until the post-Celestia return.

The documentation does not provide a full encounter-count-to-ending table. Therefore, it is accurate to say that the outcome varies with your count, but not to assign an unverified ending description to each individual total.
A practical route for a no-regrets playthrough
You can avoid most accidental misses without stopping the story every few minutes. Use the following routine whenever the game advances to a new region or completes a major objective.
- Keep all four icon categories visible. In Menu > Custom > Destination Icons, enable yellow destinations, stars, hourglasses and blue exclamation marks.
- Clear urgent markers first. Visit every hourglass location before pursuing the next major yellow destination. If a star appears nearby, collect or inspect it during the same visit.
- Use a rotating manual save. Keep one save from before the latest story gate and another from your current position. Make an additional save before crossing Mt. Farlos.
- Check named quest locations. For the Katrine/Pierre chain, physically visit each specified building or area and confirm the conversation, rather than assuming a town visit counted.
- Review after mandatory dungeons. The ship encounter requires the Forest of Temptation to be cleared, and the dojo encounter requires the Valley of Fire Spirits to be cleared. Recheck the checklist as soon as each condition is met.
- Resolve delayed rewards. After returning from Celestia, go to Inferia’s Royal Observatory instead of waiting for an automatic notification.
This routine separates three different tasks that are often confused: finding a marker, triggering an event and collecting its later reward. A marker can identify a destination without completing the event, and a completed event can still have a reward that appears only after a later story return.

How to use icons when the map feels crowded
Prioritize hourglass events
An hourglass is the strongest warning the remaster provides. The official description ties it to events whose acquisition period is limited, especially titles and items. If several hourglasses are visible, start with the one in the region you are about to leave. Save before entering, complete the event, then verify that the marker or related conversation has cleared.
Investigate stars before a point of no return
Stars mark valuable-item locations. The icon does not, by itself, state whether the item is permanently missable, but delaying a valuable item until after a major transition creates unnecessary risk. Treat a star as a short detour to complete before crossing a mountain, boarding a story-critical route or leaving an area for a long sequence.
Use blue exclamation marks for skill completion
Blue exclamation icons identify events that teach new artes. They are particularly important if your goal is a complete artes record rather than merely finishing the plot. The available information does not establish a universal deadline for every blue-marked event, so prioritize them before leaving the region and preserve a save if the event is in a location that may become inaccessible.
Leave yellow destinations for last during cleanup
Yellow icons point to the current main objective. Before entering one, sweep the surrounding area for hourglasses, stars, blue exclamation marks and the six Katrine/Pierre locations that apply to your current story state. This simple order prevents the main route from carrying you past optional content unnoticed.
Optional completion targets beyond the Katrine/Pierre chain
The remaster’s official information describes several systems that matter to completionists, but they are not all missable side quests.

New Game+ can make recovery easier, but it should not be treated as a guarantee that every title, item or event is carried forward. The official information confirms that carry-over options exist, not that all optional rewards transfer. Check the specific carry-over choice shown by your game before relying on it.
What to do if you think you missed something
If the event marker is still visible
Return to the marked location and speak to the relevant character again. Walk through adjacent rooms, shops and indoor areas; a star or hourglass can point to a general location rather than the exact interaction point. If the scene does not trigger, confirm the story prerequisite in your checklist and reload the manual save made before the latest gate.
If you crossed Mt. Farlos without finishing Katrine and Pierre
Load a save from before the crossing if one exists. Complete every remaining encounter, then continue until the post-Celestia return and visit the Royal Observatory. If no earlier save exists, finish the current run for its other rewards and plan the chain for a later playthrough; the documented warning does not promise that the missed scenes can be reopened afterward.

If the ending did not match your expectation
Count the six completed conversations rather than counting towns visited. The final result is based on encounter completion, and the reward check occurs at Inferia’s Royal Observatory after Celestia. A visit to the observatory before that story return cannot substitute for the final resolution.
If you are hunting an undocumented item or title
Use the hourglass and star markers as your primary in-game evidence, and keep a regional checklist of conversations, shops and side areas. Because no complete remaster-specific inventory has been established, label an item as “not confirmed missable” unless the game marks it with an hourglass or a reliable trigger warning identifies a cutoff.
Release and edition context
Bandai Namco describes the product as “Tales of Eternia returns as a remastered edition!” The dated product information lists 16 October 2026 as the release date and identifies the supported platforms on the official product page. Availability and icon behavior discussed here refer to the remastered edition, not an assumption that the original release used the same tracking interface.
Names can also appear in different forms across language settings. The Japanese title reward is “愛のネゴシエイター”; the remaster guide renders it as “Love Negotiator.” If your interface uses the Japanese text, match the characters rather than assuming the English label indicates a different reward.
Compact pre-Mt. Farlos checklist
- Destination Icons are enabled under Menu > Custom.
- Every visible hourglass event in the current route has been completed or deliberately deferred with a save.
- Nearby star-marked valuable-item locations have been checked.

Following that checklist gives you the strongest documented protection against missing optional content. It also keeps uncertain cases honest: the game’s own hourglass and star indicators guide your search without pretending that an unpublished master list exists.
