Start with the sneaker brand’s official app or release calendar, then check established local retailers’ calendars and the rules for each draw. A raffle entry is not a guaranteed purchase: it may only give you a chance to buy, and the release can sell out. Before entering, confirm the size, payment method, deadline, location and pickup requirements. If a message says you won, verify it through the retailer’s official app or website—not through an unsolicited link—and never pay a surprise fee to claim a prize.
Where to look for legitimate retail releases
Start with the brand’s official channel
Use the brand’s own release calendar or app as your starting point. For Nike in the United States, upcoming SNKRS draws appear in the app’s “Upcoming” feed. Members who enable notifications may receive a push alert when a draw opens. The product page displays a countdown, and the draw is open only for a limited time. Check retailer calendars and rules separately
Legitimate retailers may run their own raffles, first-come online launches or in-store releases. Read the specific retailer’s release calendar and entry terms rather than assuming that one shop’s schedule or pickup rules apply elsewhere. For example, US retailer DTLR says some high-demand releases are offered through digital raffles in its mobile app. Its stated schedule and conditions apply to DTLR, not to sneaker raffles generally. How sneaker draws and raffles work
A draw may give you a chance to buy, not a confirmed order
On Nike SNKRS, you enter during the draw window, choose the shoe and size, and keep your payment details current. Nike says the card is pre-authorized and charged only if you are selected. It says selected entrants receive purchase details and an order confirmation within 24 hours after the countdown ends; unsuccessful entrants are also notified. Nike also says a submitted entry cannot be changed to another size and that a member may submit only one entry for an individual draw. Do not treat an entry as a reservation. Nike describes Exclusive Access as an opportunity to purchase, not a guarantee that your size is held, and says access itself is not guaranteed. It also says demand often exceeds supply and that it screens entries for automated bot activity. There is no reliable trick that guarantees access or a win. Nike: SNKRS fairness
Retailer raffles can add pickup and identity requirements
DTLR says its raffles typically open five days before release and usually close two days before release, but delays can change the schedule. It advises entrants to check the release calendar and their email, text messages and spam folder. Its FAQ says wins are non-transferable and winners must show ID for pickup. First-come releases work differently
A first-come release does not use a draw to select potential buyers; shoppers try to place an order or buy in-store while stock remains. Check whether the retailer considers your purchase confirmed at checkout or only after a later confirmation. DTLR, for example, says an order is not confirmed until it sends shipment confirmation. - Size: Confirm the exact size before entry. Some draws do not allow size changes after submission.
- Payment: Check which payment methods are accepted, whether a card may be pre-authorized, and when a successful entry will be charged.
- Deadlines: Note the entry window, result notification period and any deadline to complete a purchase.
- Geography: Make sure the draw is open where you live and that the retailer ships to, or has a pickup location in, your area.
- Pickup and identification: Check whether you must collect in person, show ID, or follow a rule against transferring a winning entry.
- Cancellation and order confirmation: Read when an order becomes final, how cancellations are handled and which message or status confirms the purchase.
- Restock alerts: Look for official app notifications or retailer updates, but do not assume an alert guarantees stock or access.
How to spot and verify a fake win message
A message that says you won is not proof. Scammers can impersonate familiar organizations, use messages or social posts to collect personal information, and pressure people to act quickly. The US Federal Trade Commission’s general prize-scam guidance says real prizes do not require a fee to claim or a payment to improve your odds. FTC: Prize scams
- Do not follow the message link. Open the brand’s or retailer’s app, or type its official website address yourself.
- Check the official account or release page. Confirm that the release and entry appear in the channel where you entered, and review the rules and notification process.
- Look for warning signs. A surprise claim fee, a fee to improve your chances, intense urgency, or a request for sensitive personal or financial details through a message link should make you stop.
- Verify independently. Find the retailer’s contact information on its official site and ask whether the message is genuine. Do not use phone numbers or links supplied in the message you are checking.

If you miss the release
Check official updates first
Revisit the brand’s app and the retailer’s release page, and watch for official notifications. DTLR says additional inventory may become available one or two days after a release, but that possibility is specific to its process and is not a promise of a restock. DTLR Raffle FAQ

Retail-price access is never assured, and there is no published, comparable figure in these sources for an individual buyer’s odds of winning a draw.
