Life Incense is a Skill Amber found in Act 6’s Fuji Frontier Zone, near the Defense Outpost Wall camp. Travel to Defense Outpost Wall, follow the upper or lower approach into the nearby elite encounter, and defeat every enemy in the room. The amber is reported to appear after the fight is cleared, not inside a chest. Once collected, research it in Koo’s Skill Amber menu and equip it before it can provide its benefit.
Its reported effect is a temporary increase to Emma’s HP. The available guide does not establish an exact number of hit points or a duration, so any specific value would be unreliable. Life Incense is also different from the similarly named craftable Life Censer, which has a separately stated 20% temporary Max HP effect.
Quick answer: where Life Incense is found
Look for Life Incense in Act 6, Fuji Frontier Zone, around the Defense Outpost Wall fast-travel point. The item is reported as a reward for clearing a room containing a headless elite enemy. It is not described as a chest pickup.

What to do before leaving Defense Outpost Wall
Set your starting point at the Defense Outpost Wall camp or fast-travel marker. Beginning elsewhere can make the landmarks difficult to match because the encounter is described relative to this location, not as a separately named dungeon on the zone map.
Confirm that you are in the right chapter and zone
Life Incense is associated with Act 6’s Fuji Frontier Zone. If you are searching another act or another region, the same-looking caves, roofs, shrines, or elite enemies may not be the target encounter. Verify the act and zone before assuming the item failed to spawn.
Prepare for a room-clear objective
The reported reward condition is defeating every enemy in the elite room. Approach it as a complete encounter rather than looking for a container. If one opponent remains somewhere in the room or on its edge, the clear condition may not be satisfied. The guide specifically describes the amber appearing after the room is cleared.

Use landmarks instead of memorizing one turn
The route includes elevation changes, a roof or upper path, a shrine landmark, and a cave-like dead end. Terrain can be easier to recognize than a written left-right sequence. If a turn is unclear, return to the last landmark you can identify and compare the upper and lower approaches described below.
Route option 1: the upper path past the Keeper Golem
The fuller route description begins at Defense Outpost Wall and follows the camp route through nearby collectibles. It then passes a Keeper Golem before climbing toward a roof or other upper route.
Step 1: Leave the Defense Outpost Wall camp
Start from the camp or fast-travel area and move along the route leading away from the wall. Nearby collectibles are used as orientation points in the guide. Their presence confirms that you are following the described path, but collecting them is not stated as a requirement for Life Incense.

Step 2: Pass the Keeper Golem
Continue until you reach the area associated with a Keeper Golem. This is a route landmark, not the named reward enemy. Do not stop your search at the Golem or assume that defeating it alone grants the amber; the reported reward comes from the later elite-room clear.

Step 3: Take the roof or upper route
From the Keeper Golem area, look for the route that gains height and uses a roof or upper-level surface. The objective is to stay on the elevated approach rather than wandering through every lower passage. A shrine is mentioned farther along as another orientation landmark.
Step 4: Use the shrine to check your position
Continue until the shrine landmark comes into view. The shrine helps confirm that you have stayed on the route toward the elite room. If you reach a large area without finding either the shrine or the next enclosed combat space, retrace your path to the last elevated section instead of searching random caves.
Step 5: Enter the elite room and clear it
Proceed from the shrine toward the enclosed room containing the elite encounter. The guide identifies a headless elite enemy there. Defeat that enemy and every other opponent in the room. After the room is fully cleared, look for the amber reward in the room; it is reported to appear from the completed encounter rather than from a chest.
Route option 2: the lower path and dead-end cave
A shorter route description starts with a drop from the Defense Outpost Wall fast-travel area. It then turns onto an upward route that ends at a cave room containing the headless elite.
Step 1: Drop to the lower path
Leave the fast-travel area and descend to the lower path. This is not necessarily a different destination from the upper route; it is another way of describing the terrain around the same camp and encounter.

Step 2: Turn onto the rising route
From the lower path, look for the route that climbs upward. Continue toward the dead-end section rather than circling back to the camp. The rising path should eventually lead to an enclosed cave-like room.
Step 3: Reach the dead-end cave room
The destination is described as a dead-end cave room with a headless elite. A dead end is useful here: once the route terminates at the combat room, there are fewer possible branches to confuse with the collectibles and upper structures near the camp.
Step 4: Defeat all enemies
Clear the headless elite and every other enemy present. Then check the room for the Life Incense reward. Because the guide says the amber appears after the clear, opening containers before or after the battle is not the stated acquisition method.
How the Life Incense reward appears
Life Incense is reported as an encounter reward. The important distinction is that the room must be cleared before you search for the amber. The guide does not describe a chest, recipe pickup, or separate interaction that substitutes for the fight.
- Enter the elite room near Defense Outpost Wall.
- Defeat the headless elite enemy.
- Defeat every remaining enemy in that room.
- Wait for the encounter to register as cleared.
- Look for the Life Incense amber reward in the cleared room.
If the reward is not visible immediately, verify that no opponent remains in a corner, behind terrain, or near the entrance. The available information does not document a special button prompt, a respawn timer, or a guaranteed map icon, so avoid assuming one of those systems is involved.
Research and equip the amber in Koo’s menu
Picking up Life Incense does not by itself make the effect active. It is a Skill Amber for Koo and must be researched and equipped through the relevant menu.

- Open the game menu after collecting the amber.
- Navigate to Koo’s skill or amber section.
- Locate Life Incense among the available Skill Amber entries.
- Research the amber if the menu presents research as a separate action.
- Open the Skill Amber setup and equip Life Incense in an available slot.
- Return to play and confirm that the amber is shown as equipped before relying on its HP benefit.
The guide does not specify a particular controller button, menu tab name beyond Koo’s skill/amber area, or slot limit. Menu labels can therefore vary by platform, language, or game version. The essential sequence is consistent: collect, research, then equip.

What Life Incense does for Emma
The reported effect is a temporary increase to Emma’s HP. This makes Life Incense a survivability-oriented Skill Amber rather than a damage, movement, crafting, or resurrection item.
What is established
- The benefit applies to Emma.
- The benefit is an increase to HP.
- The increase is temporary.
- The amber must be researched and equipped through Koo’s setup before use.
What is not established
- No exact number of additional HP is provided.
- No duration is provided.
- No trigger condition, cooldown, or stacking rule is provided.
- No claim is established about whether the bonus affects current HP, maximum HP, or both beyond the guide’s wording that it gives Emma extra HP.
Do not substitute the 20% figure associated with Life Censer for Life Incense. That percentage belongs to a different, craftable item and should not be used to calculate this amber’s effect.
Life Incense, Life Censer, and Resurrection Censer compared
The names are close enough to cause confusion, especially when searching an inventory or guide. They belong to different item systems and should not be treated as interchangeable.
| Item | System and user | How it is obtained or activated | Stated benefit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Life Incense | Skill Amber for Koo | Clear the reported Act 6 Fuji Frontier elite encounter near Defense Outpost Wall; research and equip it in Koo’s menu | Temporarily gives Emma extra HP; exact amount and duration are not stated |
| Life Censer | Craftable item used by Koo | Craft with one Life Fruit and one Incense Stick | Temporarily increases Emma’s maximum HP by 20% |
| Resurrection Censer | Separate craftable item used by Koo | Craft with one Life Fruit and one Incense Stick | Allows Koo to resurrect Emma when she falls |
The shared ingredients for the two censers do not apply to Life Incense. Conversely, finding the amber does not give you a resurrection item or the stated 20% Max HP effect of Life Censer.

That recoverability warning is guide-reported rather than corroborated by an official game source. Treat it as a practical precaution: search for the amber before leaving the relevant area or before advancing past a point where Defense Outpost Wall can no longer be revisited. If the location is still accessible, return there and repeat the room-clear route.
If you have already progressed
- Check whether Fuji Frontier Zone and the Defense Outpost Wall fast-travel point are still available.
- If they are available, travel back and run the encounter again.
- Confirm that you entered the elite room and cleared every enemy.
- Check Koo’s menu in case the amber was collected but has not yet been researched or equipped.
- If the area is no longer accessible, do not assume a craft recipe or chest will replace the item; the guide reports no such replacement.
The available information does not establish whether a later chapter, a new game cycle, or a specific recovery mechanic restores access. Avoid relying on an unverified workaround.
Troubleshooting when the amber is not found
You are searching a chest
Stop looking for a chest as the primary source. The reported acquisition method is clearing the elite room. Search the room after the fight has ended and the encounter has registered as complete.
You defeated one elite but received nothing
Check for additional enemies. The reward condition is described as defeating every enemy in the room, not merely defeating the headless elite. Walk the perimeter and inspect the entrance and corners before leaving.
You cannot match the route directions
Use Defense Outpost Wall as the fixed starting point, then identify whether your current path is the lower route that climbs toward a dead-end cave or the upper route that passes collectibles, a Keeper Golem, a roof, and a shrine. The two descriptions cover the same reported destination from different terrain perspectives.
The item is in the inventory but has no effect
Open Koo’s skill/amber menu, research Life Incense, and equip it. Ownership alone is not described as activation.
You are expecting a 20% bonus
That number belongs to Life Censer, not Life Incense. The amber’s exact HP amount and duration are not established by the available guide.

Because Life Incense is described as a temporary HP benefit, it is most relevant when Emma’s survival is the immediate concern. Equip it through Koo before entering content where additional HP could matter, while remembering that the available description does not specify how long the bonus lasts or what event activates it.
For a build decision, first identify which item you actually own. A Skill Amber changes Koo’s equipped setup; a Censer is a craftable consumable-style option with its own stated effect. If you need a resurrection capability, Life Incense is not a substitute for Resurrection Censer. If you need the documented 20% temporary Max HP increase, that description applies to Life Censer instead.
