Fallen Village has two documented progression keys: the Weathered Key and the Storage Key. The Weathered Key is outside the Marketplace house with the empty crib and opens a house across the river for the Toy needed by Lullaby. The Storage Key is underground behind the Marketplace house and opens the route to a plague-wall weak point. The Fields area adds the separate The Scarecrow quest, whose pendant, letter and barn objective award Bountiful Harvest Amber. Required items are not missable, and you can return to earlier areas, so a missed pickup can be collected later.
Fallen Village key and door overview
Use the lantern names as your navigation checkpoints. Choose Fallen Village > Marketplace for both key routes, and Fallen Village > Fields for the Scarecrow quest and its nearby collectibles.

The two keys are easy to confuse because both routes begin around Marketplace buildings, but their pickups and destinations are different. The Weathered Key is an outdoor pickup tied to a side-quest house; the Storage Key is underground and advances the plague-wall route.
Weathered Key: unlock the house across the river
This route starts at the Marketplace lantern. Find the house containing an empty crib. Enter from the Marketplace side rather than trying to approach the river house first.

1. Trigger Lullaby at the empty crib
- From the Fallen Village > Marketplace lantern, enter the house with the empty crib.
- Walk up to the crib and interact with it. This starts the Lullaby side quest and establishes the Toy as the objective.
- Leave through the back door. The key is not inside the crib room, so searching the front rooms repeatedly will not reveal it.
2. Pick up the Weathered Key
Outside the back door, look around the enemies near the house. The Weathered Key is on the ground in that outdoor area. PowerPyx’s 2026 walkthrough identifies this exact position as the key pickup near the enemies after exiting through the back door.
- Confirm that you left through the rear exit of the crib house.
- Search the ground immediately around the enemy encounter instead of looking for a chest or another interior container.
- Collect the key before following the route onward; the next door is in a different part of the village.
3. Reach the locked house
- Move back toward the Marketplace lantern and take the path leading toward the previous area.
- When you pass the Volunteer, turn right.
- Continue to the end of that path.
- Jump across the river. The jump leads to the otherwise inaccessible house on the opposite bank.
- Interact with the house door and use the Weathered Key.
The locked house is therefore not the crib house and is not reached by staying on the Marketplace side of the water. The Volunteer landmark and the river jump are the useful orientation checks: if you have not turned right after the Volunteer or crossed the river, you are still on the approach route.
4. Retrieve the Toy and finish Lullaby
- Enter the unlocked house and take the Toy from the bed.
- Return across the river and retrace the path to the Marketplace house with the empty crib.
- Interact with the crib and place the Toy.
- Completing the quest awards Tomorrow’s Promise Amber.
The key’s useful endpoint is the Toy, not a permanent shortcut or a second key. Once the Toy has been placed, the Weathered Key portion of Fallen Village is complete.

Storage Key: open the underground door to the plague wall
The Storage Key uses the Marketplace house as its entry point but follows a different exit from the Weathered Key route. This time, go behind the house and descend rather than heading toward the river.

1. Enter the underground area
- At Fallen Village > Marketplace, return to the house used for the Storage Key route.
- Go out through the back of the house.
- Find the ladder and climb down into the underground area.
The ladder is the routing clue. If you are outside but still on the surface, you have not entered the Storage Key section yet.
2. Collect the key from the box
- Once underground, follow the passage around the corner.
- Near two enemies, look for a box.
- Pick up the Storage Key from that box.
PowerPyx’s 2026 walkthrough places the item on a box around the corner from the ladder, near two enemies. It is not a ground pickup like the Weathered Key, so check the box when you reach this encounter.
3. Use the nearby door
- From the box, continue to the nearby locked door.
- Interact with it and use the Storage Key.
- Follow the newly opened route until you reach the plague-wall weak point.
- Interact with or attack the weak point as the game requires to clear the plague wall.
The Storage Key is the progression item for this obstruction. If the plague wall still blocks you, verify that you opened the nearby door from the underground route rather than searching for another Marketplace entrance.

The Fields sweep is separate from the two Marketplace keys, but it is the other documented Fallen Village objective readers commonly miss. Start at the Fallen Village > Fields lantern and follow the roads toward the scarecrow and barn.

1. Start the quest at the scarecrow
- From the Fields lantern, follow the paths toward the field.
- Take the road on the right.
- Find the body strapped to the scarecrow post.
- Interact with the body to start The Scarecrow.
Starting the quest first gives the two item pickups a clear purpose. The pendant and letter are found on the route to the barn, not at the scarecrow itself.
2. Find the Lover’s Pendant
- Proceed toward the barn area.
- Take the right-hand path to the large tree.
- At the base of the tree, collect the Lover’s Pendant from the body.
The large tree is the reliable landmark. If you have reached the barn but have not taken the right path toward the tree, return to that junction before looking for the pendant elsewhere.
3. Find the Letter with a Drawing
- Continue past the tall haystacks.
- Pass the group of four human enemies.
- Enter the house on the left, up the hill.
- Go to the top floor and take the Letter with a Drawing from the table.
The house is above the route and on the left after the haystacks and four-enemy encounter. The letter is on the top-floor table, so checking only the lower rooms will not complete the item search.

- Return to the scarecrow post.
- Give the scarecrow both the Lover’s Pendant and the Letter with a Drawing.
- Enter the next field and find the barn containing exploding bodies.
- Climb to the barn’s top level.
- Interact with the two pillows to finish the quest.
Completing The Scarecrow awards Bountiful Harvest Amber. The barn interaction is the final completion step; handing over the two items alone does not finish the quest.

5. Sweep the barn and carriage area for additional loot
While you are following the Scarecrow route, check the barn and nearby carriage area. The documented Fields sweep also includes Amber #11: Volatile End in a chest behind the exploding bodies and the Blunderbuss near the Volunteer. These are separate from the Scarecrow reward, so collect them before leaving if you are working toward a complete area clear.
How the two Marketplace routes differ

Use this distinction when backtracking: a river crossing indicates the Weathered Key objective, while a ladder and underground box indicate the Storage Key objective. They should not be swapped simply because both begin near Marketplace buildings.

You can complete the objectives in whatever order suits your exploration, but the following sequence minimizes unnecessary travel while keeping each landmark meaningful.
- At the Fields lantern, start The Scarecrow at the scarecrow post.
- Collect the Lover’s Pendant at the large tree and the Letter with a Drawing in the hilltop house.
- Hand both items to the scarecrow, then finish the barn interaction and collect the nearby Amber #11 chest and Blunderbuss if they are part of your sweep.
- Move to the Marketplace lantern and enter the empty-crib house.
- Start Lullaby, leave through the back, collect the Weathered Key, cross the river, retrieve the Toy and return it to the crib.
- Use the same Marketplace area for the Storage Key route: rear exit, ladder, underground box, nearby door and plague-wall weak point.
This order is a convenience, not a lockout rule. The walkthrough’s progression notes state that important items are not missable and that earlier areas remain available.

Can you return for missed keys?
Yes. PowerPyx’s 2026 overview says the game allows returns to prior areas after the final boss and that nothing required for trophies or 100% completion is missable. If you leave Fallen Village without one of these items, use the lantern travel labels to come back to Fallen Village > Marketplace or Fallen Village > Fields.
- For the Weathered Key, revisit the empty-crib house, use its back door and search the enemy area outside.
- For the Storage Key, revisit the Marketplace rear exit, descend the ladder and check the box around the corner near two enemies.
- For Scarecrow progress, return to the Fields lantern and check the tree, hilltop house and barn in that order.
Returning later does not change the objective locations documented for these routes. It simply lets you finish a quest or collect an item after advancing elsewhere.
Completion checklist for Fallen Village
- Marketplace, empty-crib house: start Lullaby.
- Marketplace rear exterior: collect the Weathered Key from the ground near enemies.
- River house: cross the river, unlock the door and collect the Toy.
- Crib house: return the Toy and receive Tomorrow’s Promise Amber.
- Marketplace underground: descend the ladder and collect the Storage Key from the box.
- Underground door: use the key and reach the plague-wall weak point.
- Fields scarecrow: start The Scarecrow.
- Large tree: collect the Lover’s Pendant.
- Hilltop house: collect the Letter with a Drawing from the top-floor table.
- Scarecrow post: hand in both items.
- Barn: climb to the top level and interact with the two pillows.
- Fields extras: collect Amber #11: Volatile End from the chest behind the exploding bodies and the Blunderbuss near the Volunteer.
The scope of the wider walkthrough is 89 collectible locations, 20 side quests and 10 regions. Fallen Village’s keys and side quest therefore fit into a larger completion route, but none of the documented items above requires a one-time window.

The Weathered Key is not appearing
Return to the Marketplace house with the empty crib, interact with the crib to start Lullaby, exit through the back door and search the ground near the enemies. Looking inside the house or at the river house before collecting the item will not reveal the key.
The river house remains locked
Confirm that you collected the Weathered Key, then travel back toward the previous area, turn right after the Volunteer, follow the path to its end and jump across the river. The correct door is on the opposite bank.
The Storage Key route is blocked
Use the Marketplace house’s back exit, climb down the ladder and check around the corner near two enemies. The key is on a box, and it opens the nearby door that leads to the weak point.
The Scarecrow quest will not finish
Make sure both the Lover’s Pendant and Letter with a Drawing have been handed to the scarecrow. Then enter the next field, go into the barn with exploding bodies, climb to the top level and interact with both pillows.
