Read the active quest objective before entering a raid, travel to the named map area, search the container or interactable it specifies, and move the item into an available Safe Pocket immediately. A Safe Pocket does not finish the quest by itself: you still need to extract and, when required, return the item to the correct quest giver. Community guides report that a quest item in a Safe Pocket survives elimination, while one left in the regular inventory is lost. Because the public game homepage does not document that mechanic, confirm the current in-game instructions after updates.
What quest items are—and why they are easy to lose
ARC Raiders quests can ask you to travel, search, collect, deliver, fight, solve a puzzle, install or repair something, take a photograph, or complete several objectives during one raid. Not every objective creates a physical item to carry. The first step is therefore to identify exactly what the objective is asking for rather than assuming every quest is a simple fetch job.
A physical quest item remains exposed until you secure it and successfully leave the raid. The guides covering Movie Night and Last Entry recommend placing a recovered item in a Safe Pocket as soon as you pick it up. ArcMaps states that an item in the Safe Pocket survives death, whereas an item in the main inventory is lost. Treat that as guide-reported behavior, not a guarantee stated on the game’s public homepage, and check the current in-game explanation if the interface or augment system changes.

Use the objective text as your route planner
- Open the active quest. Read every line, including map names, named points of interest, container descriptions and the required final action.
- Classify the objective. Decide whether you need a broad loot category, a fixed interaction, an action at a location, combat, or more than one of these.
- Mark the map and area. Use the map named in the objective and travel to the specified point of interest rather than searching every building on the map.
- Search only the indicated source first. If the objective says residential loot, search homes and apartments. If it names a drawer, terminal or deposit box, look for that exact interactable.
- Secure the item immediately. Put it in an available Safe Pocket before continuing to explore.
- Finish any remaining objectives. A quest can require several actions in one raid; storing one item does not mark the whole quest complete.
- Extract and deliver. Leave the raid with the required item, return to the named quest giver and use the delivery or turn-in interaction.
This sequence prevents the most common mistake: finding the correct object, leaving it in the main inventory while pursuing another objective, and losing it after elimination.

Broad loot searches versus fixed interactables
Quest wording usually tells you which search model applies. The distinction matters because the best route, time investment and risk are different.

When the objective uses a category such as residential loot, do not expect one guaranteed cabinet or room. When it names a particular drawer, terminal or deposit box, searching unrelated containers is unlikely to advance the quest.
How to use a Safe Pocket correctly
Move the item as soon as you pick it up
Open the inventory interface immediately after the pickup and transfer the quest item into an empty Safe Pocket slot provided by your augment. Do this before opening additional rooms, taking a detour or attempting another objective. The Movie Night guide’s exact advice is: “Put the tapes in your Safe Pocket immediately to ensure you don’t lose them if you are eliminated.”
Know what the Safe Pocket does not do
The slot protects the carried item according to the reviewed guides; it does not extract the item, deliver it, or complete a multi-part objective. You must still reach an extraction point, leave the raid successfully and perform the hand-in interaction at the quest giver.
If no Safe Pocket is available
A Safe Pocket is described as augment-provided. If your current loadout does not provide one, the safest approach is to treat the item as ordinary high-risk loot: avoid optional fights and detours, head toward extraction and deliver it as soon as possible. Do not assume that simply placing it in another inventory section grants protection; the guide-reported protection is specifically associated with the Safe Pocket.
Movie Night: a complete example
ARC Raiders Hub lists three objectives for Movie Night: deliver a Portable TV to Apollo, search the Cultural Archives on Stella Montis for old movie tapes, and deliver the Stack of Movie Tapes to Apollo. The two item searches use different methods, so following the wording matters.
Find the Portable TV
The guide classifies Portable TVs as residential loot. It suggests checking the following residential areas:

- Blue Gate: Village, Raider’s Refuge or Ruined Homestead.
- Dam Battlegrounds: Pale Apartments, Ruby Residence or Pattern House.
- Buried City: residential areas.
These are search suggestions rather than a promise that every named area will contain a Portable TV in every raid. Enter the residential buildings, search the available household containers, and stop once you have the required item. Transfer it to the Safe Pocket immediately if you have one.
Find the Stack of Movie Tapes
- Travel to Stella Montis and enter the Cultural Archives.
- Go to the upper floor.
- Search the southwest corner for the sheet-covered drawer.
- Interact with that drawer to obtain the Stack of Movie Tapes.
- Put the tapes in the Safe Pocket before moving on.
This is a fixed-location search, not a general hunt for tape-shaped loot throughout Stella Montis. If the drawer is not where the guide describes it, use the live objective and current map layout as the authority; locations can change after updates or map-condition changes.
Complete the hand-in
Extract with the requested item or items and return to Apollo. Movie Night has separate delivery objectives, so verify that each one has registered in the quest screen rather than assuming that delivering one object completes the other.
Last Entry: the Seed Vault sequence
GameSpot’s March 31, 2026 guide describes Last Entry as a specific chain inside the Seed Vault on Stella Montis. It is not a universal route for every quest or every raid, but it shows how a quest item may appear only after several preliminary interactions.
- Search the terminal for clues. Begin the Seed Vault objective by interacting with the terminal and reading the available information.
- Get the Seed Vault Box Key. Search the hazmat suits in the adjacent room to obtain the key.
- Power the large door. Use a fuel cell to activate the door mechanism.
- Use the key at the terminal. Once the powered door is accessible, apply the Seed Vault Box Key at the indicated terminal.
- Collect the Official Shutdown Documentation. Take the document from the deposit box.
- Secure it immediately. The guide recommends moving the document into the Safe Pocket before leaving the vault.
- Extract and deliver. Return the document to Shani after a successful extraction.
Skipping the key, fuel-cell or terminal steps can make the final deposit box appear inaccessible. Follow the order shown by the active objective, because this walkthrough describes one quest-specific chain rather than a rule that applies to every Seed Vault visit.
Handling quests that do not use a carryable item
Some objectives mention a location or action but do not require you to bring an object home. The same reading process still helps:
- Combat: identify the required enemy or condition, complete it, and confirm the objective updates before extracting.
- Puzzles: inspect the named room or device and follow the interaction prompts in the order shown by the objective.
- Installation or repair: gather any explicitly listed component, then perform the installation or repair interaction; carrying the component alone is not completion.
- Photography: use the camera or photo interaction at the named location and verify that the objective records the shot.
- Multiple objectives: plan whether to complete them in one raid or split them across safer runs. A protected item can survive elimination according to the guide-reported Safe Pocket mechanic, but unfinished actions still remain unfinished.
Do not force a delivery route onto an objective that only asks for an interaction. Conversely, if the text says deliver, plan for both extraction and the return to the quest giver.

Planning the raid around the item
Before deploying, separate what must happen before pickup from what must happen after pickup. In Movie Night, the Portable TV search is a broad residential sweep, while the movie tapes require reaching one drawer in the Cultural Archives. In Last Entry, the document cannot be collected until the terminal, key, fuel-cell and door steps are handled. This distinction tells you whether to budget time for exploration, prerequisites or a direct run to extraction.

Keep the intended extraction direction in mind while choosing among broad-search areas. Blue Gate’s Village, Raider’s Refuge and Ruined Homestead, Dam Battlegrounds’ Pale Apartments, Ruby Residence and Pattern House, and Buried City’s residential areas are alternatives suggested for the Portable TV; they are not a requirement to visit all of them. Search one suitable area, and once the item appears, secure it and leave rather than continuing to collect optional loot.
For a fixed interactable, confirm the floor and corner before entering the building. The tapes are specifically described in the upper floor’s southwest corner of the Cultural Archives, so a systematic sweep of unrelated rooms adds exposure without improving the search. If a prerequisite is named, complete it in the stated order instead of repeatedly checking a locked final container.
Requirements, limits and risk controls
- Active objective: The map, named area and action in the current quest are the controlling requirements.
- Correct source: A category request needs qualifying loot; a named drawer, terminal or box needs that exact interaction.
- Safe Pocket availability: The reported protection depends on an augment-provided Safe Pocket. It is not established for ordinary inventory slots.
- Prerequisites: Last Entry demonstrates that a key, fuel cell and powered door can be required before the final document is available.
- Successful extraction: Protection is not the same as leaving the raid. The item must still be carried through the extraction step.
- Turn-in: Delivery objectives require returning to the named quest giver, such as Apollo for Movie Night or Shani for Last Entry.
These are separate checkpoints. Picking up an item satisfies only the pickup portion; putting it in a Safe Pocket addresses loss risk; extraction ends the raid with the item; and the hand-in interaction closes the delivery objective.

Route planning and changing map conditions
Online walkthroughs are useful for recognizing a point of interest, but they can lag behind game updates. Before deploying, compare the guide’s location with the current objective text, map labels and any on-screen interaction prompt. The in-game objective should control if the two disagree.

For broad searches, choose the residential zone that fits your intended extraction route and avoid unnecessary travel between maps. For fixed searches, reserve enough time to reach the named building, complete any prerequisite interactions and return to an extraction point. If other players or current conditions make the direct route unsafe, prioritize survival over optional loot; a quest item cannot be delivered until you leave the raid.
Common failure modes and how to recover
You found the item but were eliminated
According to ArcMaps and the quest walkthroughs, an item in the main inventory is lost on death, while an item in the Safe Pocket survives. If the item was not protected, plan to repeat the search. On the next attempt, move it immediately instead of carrying it while completing unrelated tasks.

The item is safe, but the quest is still incomplete
Check the objective list for a required extraction or delivery. Safe Pocket storage preserves the item; it does not count as handing it to Apollo, Shani or another quest giver.
You searched the wrong containers
Re-read the noun in the objective. A residential-loot request needs household searches across a qualifying area; a drawer, terminal or deposit-box request needs the named interactable. The Movie Night Portable TV and movie tapes illustrate the difference.

Use the active in-game objective and current map conditions. Community pages may describe an earlier layout, a different quest state or a route that has changed in an update. Avoid treating a remembered guide location as more authoritative than the live objective.
You extracted without the requested item
An extraction can end the raid without satisfying a delivery objective. Before leaving, check that the required object is in the Safe Pocket or inventory and that every prerequisite interaction has registered. If not, the next raid must resume the missing step.
You carried an item while chasing another objective
Once the item is protected, verify the remaining lines before taking a detour. If the next action is optional or belongs to a different objective, leave with the protected item first. A quest can contain several objectives, but completing one does not make the others disappear.

The public ARC Raiders homepage does not provide a detailed quest-item mechanics statement, so treat the protection behavior as reported by those guides and verify it against current in-game instructions. Spawn locations, objective wording and map conditions are volatile; the active quest is the final authority for the raid you are playing.

That disagreement does not change the practical method: follow the objective currently displayed for your character, then confirm each pickup, extraction and delivery state in the interface.
