The nine obelisks described by current location guides are Obelisks of Benediction in Norgan, and those guides identify them as content from Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen—not the older Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen. At an obelisk, you can buy a vocation’s basic weapon skill with Discipline Points. Spending an Offering Flame reportedly adds the advanced skill, a permanent one-time stat increase, and a temporary rare-loot boost in Norgan. The locations below are guide-reported and should be checked against your current map and game version.
Confirm which Dragon’s Dogma game you are playing
The title “Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen” normally refers to the original game and its expansion. The obelisk material covered here is different: Push Square and AllThingsHow describe Obelisks of Benediction in Norgan and label them as part of Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen. Their results do not establish these obelisks as features of the older Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen. Guides for the older release commonly discuss Portcrystals and Riftstones instead.

Use this walkthrough only if your game includes Norgan, the vocation-linked Obelisks of Benediction and Offering Flames. The available location information comes from secondary guides rather than an official route map. Where those guides use different landmarks, the differences are noted instead of being turned into false precision.

#1 Best Overall
- A Grand Adventure – Dragon’s Dogma 2 begins in a subterranean jail, where the Dragon’s voice echoes in the fog of lost memories. With their heart taken by the Dragon, the Arisen is set on a path to slay that symbol of the world’s destruction as it soars through the sky on massive wings, breathing flames that scorch everything in its path. With the Arisen’s future veiled in mystery, what challenges and triumphs await on the path to their destiny?
- Single-Player Cooperation – Up to three mysterious otherworldly beings, known as Pawns, accompany the Arisen throughout their journey. Pawns create the feeling of a cooperative gameplay experience by offering unique characteristics, skills, and knowledge gained from their experiences with other Arisen.
- Made with RE ENGINE – Capcom’s advanced RE ENGINE produces vividly detailed, high fidelity graphics combined with immersive physics and complex and reactive character AI to create a setting where decisions, and their consequences, come to life.
What an Obelisk of Benediction does
Each obelisk is associated with one vocation. Interacting with it opens that vocation’s skill purchase, allowing you to spend Discipline Points on the base weapon skill. The guides then describe an additional interaction that consumes an Offering Flame.
- Base skill: purchased with Discipline Points at the vocation’s obelisk.
- Advanced skill: reportedly unlocked when you use an Offering Flame.
- Permanent enhancement: one stat upgrade can be purchased once at that obelisk.
- Temporary benefit: the guides report an increased chance of rare loot in Norgan for a limited time.
The guides do not establish the exact Discipline Point cost, Offering Flame supply per playthrough, duration of the rare-loot effect, or whether a later patch changes any cost. Do not assume that an enhancement can be bought repeatedly or that one flame produces a fixed number of items.
Obelisks are reportedly hidden from the map until you discover them. Once you reach one, its location can be used as a reference point for planning the remaining sites. No Warfarer obelisk is reported in either guide.
All nine reported Norgan obelisks
The table combines the location descriptions and stat rewards reported by the guides. “Access” describes a requirement or difficulty mentioned by the sources, not a guaranteed quest trigger for every edition.
| Vocation | Guide-reported location | Access and route notes | Permanent stat enhancement | Other reported detail |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mage | East of Norgandian Settlement | A climbing rope or Climbing Hook is reported as necessary to reach the site. | Magick Defense | Base and advanced Mage skill options. |
| Fighter | Northeast of the Mage obelisk, just off the main road | AllThingsHow places it near a river crossing in Valgr Ravine. | Defense | Use the Mage site as a practical starting reference. |
| Archer | East of Beorcan Stronghold, on a cliff top approached from the north | AllThingsHow associates the area with Underhill Passage. | Stamina | Reach the upper cliff rather than stopping at the lower path. |
| Thief | North of the Archer obelisk, on a cliff | Often guarded; AllThingsHow places it near Rivercave Campground. | Strength | Expect a fight before interacting. |
| Sorcerer | South of Beorcan Stronghold, at a cliff edge | AllThingsHow describes the area as west of Lake Norgan. | Magick | Check the cliff edge rather than only the stronghold interior. |
| Warrior | Mad-Lord’s Chapel, on the route to the Shrine of Wisdom | Climb the stairs, enter the chapel and defeat strong enemies. | Health | The obelisk is inside the chapel. |
| Mystic Spearhand | Through the northern pass toward the north of the map | Northern access is described as story-gated. | Strength and Defense | Do not expect the pass to be available immediately. |
| Magick Archer | Norgan Snowfield, east of the chasm and up a hill | The Snowfield is reported as opening after relevant story progression. | Magick and Magick Defense | Approach from the Snowfield side and climb to the hill. |
| Trickster | East of the Magick Archer site, beyond the chasm and up a mountain pass | Circle around and over the chasm; the climb is not a direct eastward walk. | Health and Stamina | Reportedly offers two skill pairs instead of one. |
Finding the sites by region and travel direction
Settlement and central-road sites
Start with the Mage obelisk east of Norgandian Settlement if you have the required climbing equipment. The Fighter obelisk is reported northeast of it and just off the main road. Because AllThingsHow instead places the Fighter site near a river crossing in Valgr Ravine, use the discovered Mage marker and the in-game terrain to confirm the crossing rather than following a rigid compass distance.
These two sites make a sensible first sweep because the Mage location gives you a known reference for the Fighter search. Do not treat “northeast” as a measured route: ravines, slopes and the approach to the crossing can make the practical path bend away from the compass direction. Once either obelisk is found, record the exact position on your own map or in a checklist, since undiscovered sites are not displayed.
Beorcan Stronghold and the western landmarks
The Archer, Thief and Sorcerer sites form a useful second group around Beorcan Stronghold. The Archer site is east of the stronghold on a northern approach to a cliff top. The Thief site is north of Archer, also on elevated ground, and may be guarded. The Sorcerer site is south of the stronghold at a cliff edge. The second guide describes the Archer area near Underhill Passage, the Thief area near Rivercave Campground and the Sorcerer area west of Lake Norgan. These landmarks are corroboration, not a replacement for checking the actual obelisk marker.

Plan to search vertically in this group. “Cliff top” and “cliff edge” mean that the correct approach may be above the visible road, while the Thief site can require stopping to deal with enemies before the interaction becomes safe. If you find a nearby landmark but no obelisk, circle the elevation rather than assuming the guide’s compass description is exact.
Mad-Lord’s Chapel
The Warrior obelisk is inside Mad-Lord’s Chapel, along the route toward the Shrine of Wisdom. The reported approach requires climbing stairs before reaching the sage, entering the chapel and defeating strong enemies. If you reach the shrine route but do not see the obelisk, search the chapel interior rather than the exterior path.
This is the least ambiguous location in the list because the guide identifies a named building. Nevertheless, treat the enemy warning as part of the route: arrive prepared to clear the chapel before spending Discipline Points or an Offering Flame. The reward is the Warrior site’s Health enhancement, not a general-purpose reward shared by every chapel visit.
Northern pass and Snowfield
Mystic Spearhand, Magick Archer and Trickster occupy the northern section. The Mystic Spearhand site is reached through the northern pass. The Magick Archer site is in Norgan Snowfield, east of a chasm and up a hill. The guides describe northern areas as story-gated, so an apparently blocked route can indicate incomplete progression rather than a missing interaction.

From Magick Archer, the Trickster obelisk is east, but the chasm forces a circuitous route. Circle around and over the chasm, then climb the mountain pass. The Trickster site is reported to provide two skill pairs, making it especially important to inspect every available purchase rather than leaving after the first skill appears.
The northern trio is therefore best saved for a dedicated trip after the relevant quests have opened the pass and Snowfield. Mystic Spearhand and Magick Archer also grant two-stat enhancements, while Trickster grants Health and Stamina. Check the whole menu at each northern obelisk before deciding that you have finished there.
Quick comparison for route planning
| Route group | Sites | Main navigation issue | Stat focus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Norgandian Settlement and central road | Mage, Fighter | Climbing equipment for Mage; river-crossing landmark discrepancy for Fighter. | Magick Defense, Defense |
| Beorcan Stronghold area | Archer, Thief, Sorcerer | Cliff approaches, possible guards and differing nearby landmarks. | Stamina, Strength, Magick |
| Shrine route | Warrior | Chapel interior, stairs and strong enemies. | Health |
| Northern pass and Snowfield | Mystic Spearhand, Magick Archer, Trickster | Story gates, chasm circuit and mountain ascent. | Strength and Defense; Magick and Magick Defense; Health and Stamina |
This is a convenience comparison, not a ranking. The guides do not provide a complete resource-efficiency calculation, exact travel distances or a recommendation that one vocation is objectively better than another. Choose a detour according to your current vocation, the statistic you want and whether you are already traveling through that region.

Prepare before an obelisk hunt
- Confirm the game and region. Norgan and Offering Flames identify the Dragon’s Dogma 2 material covered here.
- Carry climbing equipment. The Mage approach is described with both “climbing rope” and “Climbing Hook” terminology, so verify the item name used by your edition.
- Leave room for Discipline Points. Each site can present a base weapon skill, but the guides do not publish a universal price.
- Check Offering Flames before traveling. A flame is tied to the advanced skill, one-time stat purchase and temporary loot effect reported at the obelisk.
- Expect combat. The Thief site may be guarded, and Mad-Lord’s Chapel contains strong enemies.
- Plan for story gates. The northern pass and Norgan Snowfield may remain unavailable until relevant progression.
- Keep a checklist. Sites reportedly remain absent from the map until discovered, and the nine-vocation list has no reported Warfarer entry.
How to use an obelisk
- Reach the site. Follow the regional description above, use climbing equipment where reported, and clear hostile enemies when the approach is guarded.
- Interact with the obelisk. Open its vocation-specific menu and confirm that the displayed vocation matches the character build you intend to improve.
- Buy the base weapon skill. Spend Discipline Points on the basic skill if you want the immediate upgrade. The sources do not provide a universal cost, so rely on the value shown in your game.
- Check your Offering Flame supply. Do not consume a flame until you are ready to claim the additional rewards at that site; the guides describe the stat purchase as one-time.
- Use an Offering Flame. The reported result is access to the advanced form of the vocation skill, the permanent stat enhancement and a temporary rare-loot increase in Norgan.
- Choose the enhancement deliberately. Mage and Magick Archer improve magic-defense-oriented statistics, Fighter improves Defense, Archer improves Stamina, and so on. Mystic Spearhand, Magick Archer and Trickster provide two-stat combinations.
- Inspect every listed skill. Trickster is reported to offer two skill pairs, so do not close the menu after the first entry.
- Record the location. Because undiscovered obelisks are not shown on the map, mark the route or keep a written checklist after each discovery.
Choosing when to spend an Offering Flame
The most useful time depends on your current vocation, available Discipline Points and whether you are planning to farm rare loot in Norgan. A flame is not merely a skill purchase according to the guides: it also opens the permanent stat option and the temporary regional loot effect. If you are passing an obelisk before you can use its skill, you can discover it first and return after earning more Discipline Points.
| Situation | Practical choice | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| You actively use the associated vocation | Consider buying the base skill immediately, then use a flame when you can exploit the advanced skill. | The benefit is directly relevant to your current weapon setup. |
| You are collecting every permanent upgrade | Reserve a flame for each obelisk whose stat matches your build. | The stat enhancement is reported as a one-time purchase at that site. |
| You are preparing a Norgan loot run | Use the flame before the run if the temporary rare-loot effect is available in your version. | The reported bonus is regional and temporary. |
| You have not reached northern story areas | Wait until progression opens the northern pass or Snowfield. | The guides describe those routes as story-gated. |
Exact flame availability, reward quantities and effect duration are not established by the location reports. Treat the on-screen confirmation in your edition as authoritative. The same caution applies to any prompt that appears to combine several rewards: read whether the game is asking you to confirm the flame expenditure before accepting it.
Skill names reported by the guides
The guides mention paired names such as Virtuous Bolt and Exalted Bolt for Mage, Whirlwind Strike and Hurricane Strike for Fighter, Falcon Arrow and Kite Arrow for Archer, and Fanged Schism and Fanged Rift for Thief. They also list skills for the other vocations, with the Trickster obelisk described as offering two skill pairs.
These names should be checked against the current in-game menu before you rely on a particular effect. The location reports do not provide a complete, independently verified description of every skill’s damage, range, stamina cost or status effect, and they do not establish whether a patch has renamed or rebalanced any ability.

The obelisk is not on your map
This is expected until discovery, according to the guides. Navigate from a known settlement, stronghold, passage or discovered obelisk, then add your own marker after reaching the site.

Check your climbing equipment. One guide calls for a climbing rope and the other calls it a Climbing Hook. Because the terminology differs between reports, look for the climbing item label used by your game and confirm that it is equipped or available before attempting the ascent.
The northern route is blocked
Continue the relevant story progression before treating the obstruction as a bug. The Mystic Spearhand route and Norgan Snowfield access are both described as progression-dependent.

- Relic Expedition Cycle – Throughout their journey in the kingdom of Norgan, the Arisen must unearth and appraise forgotten relics to unlock powerful new weapons and skills.
- New Dungeon Challenges – The 12 freshly uncovered Lost Rites dungeons house trials designed by the Pathfinder to sharpen the Arisen’s skills and recover rare equipment once held by past Arisen that now lay dormant.
- Deeper Character Customization – New tattoo and hair options have been added to the already robust character creation tool in Dragon’s Dogma 2 so Arisen and Pawns can have even deeper personalization.
- Now on Nintendo Switch 2 – Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen brings the classic fantasy world of Dragon’s Dogma 2 and the Dark Arisen Expansion to the Nintendo Switch 2 for the first time.
- Pre-order Bonuses – The Norgan Fashion Set - Northern Attire will be available as a pre-order bonus, which can be accessed via in-game storage at launch.
You cannot find the obelisk near the stated landmark
Use the landmark only as a search area. The sources disagree in several descriptions: Fighter is associated with the main road by one guide and a Valgr Ravine river crossing by the other; Sorcerer is described south of Beorcan Stronghold and west of Lake Norgan; Archer and Thief have different nearby passage and campground references. Search the elevation changes, cliff edges and chapel interior specified in the table.
The site is guarded
Defeat the enemies before interacting. The Thief location is commonly guarded, and the Warrior route specifically warns of strong enemies inside Mad-Lord’s Chapel.

Neither cited guide reports a Warfarer obelisk. The list contains nine sites tied to Mage, Fighter, Archer, Thief, Sorcerer, Warrior, Mystic Spearhand, Magick Archer and Trickster. Do not assume that the absence of a Warfarer entry means an undiscovered tenth site.
Limits of the available location information
No official route map or complete turn-by-turn directions for every site are established by the cited material. The nine-vocation list, reward categories and broad landmarks are consistent enough to plan an expedition, but exact paths can vary with terrain, quest state and game version. Verify the final approach in your current build rather than assuming that a compass heading or named landmark is exact.
Most importantly, do not transfer these instructions to the original Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen without confirming that your version contains Norgan and Obelisks of Benediction. The guides cited here identify a different game title, and that distinction changes which map, quests and systems apply.

Do obelisks appear on the map automatically?
No. The guides say an obelisk is hidden from the map until you discover it, so keep your own checklist or marker notes.
What does an Offering Flame unlock?
The reported rewards are an advanced vocation skill, a permanent stat enhancement that can be purchased once at that obelisk, and a temporary increase to rare-loot chances in Norgan.
Can I buy the permanent stat enhancement repeatedly?
The guides describe it as a one-time purchase at each obelisk. They do not establish any repeat-purchase method.

Why can’t I reach the northern obelisks?
The northern pass and Norgan Snowfield are described as story-gated. Continue the relevant quests before treating a blocked route as a fault.
Why do two guides give different landmarks?
The route reports are secondary guidance, not an official turn-by-turn map. For example, Fighter is described by the main road in one guide and near a Valgr Ravine river crossing in another. Use both landmarks as search context and confirm the final position in-game.
The Bottom Line
For the reported Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen content, search Norgan for nine vocation-linked Obelisks of Benediction. Discover each site to reveal it on the map, buy its base skill with Discipline Points, and spend an Offering Flame only when the advanced skill, one-time stat upgrade and temporary Norgan loot benefit fit your plan. Bring climbing equipment for Mage, expect guards at some sites, and wait for story access to the northern pass and Snowfield. Confirm the game version first, because these guides do not verify the obelisks for the original Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen.
