For recognizable songs performed from beginning to end, start with Fortnite Festival’s Main Stage. It is free to access through Fortnite, supports solo play or parties of up to four, and lets you choose a song, instrument part, and difficulty. Rock Band 4 remains the stronger fit for traditional band play and its historic catalog, but its current store and downloadable-content availability must be checked in your country.
“Full-song tracklist” is not a formal game category. Each title handles songs differently: some provide complete performances, some rotate access to tracks, and some modes are designed for looping and remixing rather than playing a song straight through.
What counts as a full-song music game?
In a performance mode, you select a licensed song, choose a part such as guitar or vocals, and play the arrangement through its normal progression. That is the meaning most players intend when they ask for a full-song tracklist.

- Main Stage: the performance mode for playing Jam Tracks as complete rhythm-game arrangements.
- Jam Stage: a mixing space where players combine Jam Loops and adjust keys and tempo. It is useful for improvising with friends, but it is not the same as a start-to-finish song chart.
Catalog size is only one part of the decision. Licensing can make songs rotate, disappear from sale, or remain playable only for people who already claimed them. Platform, territory, controller support, and whether you want a solo or band experience matter just as much.
Best current starting point: Fortnite Festival Main Stage
What you can play
Fortnite Festival is a music-rhythm experience inside Fortnite. Main Stage lets you perform licensed songs and Fortnite tracks using Lead, Bass, Drums, Vocals, Pro Lead, or Pro Bass parts. You can play alone or with up to three other people. Before each performance, select the part and difficulty that match your preferred input.
Epic does not publish a permanently fixed current total for the Jam Track library in the material available here, so avoid relying on a single song-count number. Inventory changes as tracks rotate, seasonal rewards change, and licensed content is added or removed.
Where it runs
Fortnite is listed for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Android. Cloud play is also listed in supported services and regions. Platform and regional support can change, so check the current Fortnite listing for your device before installing.
Festival does not require a separate Festival download once Fortnite is installed or otherwise available on your device. You enter the experience from Fortnite’s Discover screen.

Open the correct mode
- Install or launch Fortnite on a supported device.
- Open Discover.
- In the By Epic row, choose Festival Main Stage for complete song performances.
- Choose Festival Jam Stage only when you want to build mixes with loops, keys, and tempo controls.
The two tiles can look similar, so confirm the mode name before inviting a party or searching for a track.

Run the first-time tune-up
The first launch guides you through optimization. Use it rather than skipping straight to a song: rhythm games are sensitive to display and audio delay, and an incorrect setup can make every input feel late or early.

You can revisit audio, video, and input tuning from Game Settings while in the game or from the lobby. Re-run the calibration after changing televisions, headphones, receivers, capture devices, or controller connections.
Choose a part and difficulty
- Enter Main Stage and join the lobby.
- Select the instrument part: Lead, Bass, Drums, Vocals, Pro Lead, or Pro Bass.
- Select a difficulty appropriate to the player.
- Start the song, then change the part or difficulty between songs if the group wants a different arrangement.
Default bindings depend on your input device. Open Controller Settings or Keyboard Settings to remap them. If a lane, trigger, or vocal input feels inconsistent, verify the binding before assuming the chart is at fault.
Understand guitar-controller requirements
A standard controller, keyboard, or other supported input is enough for the regular Lead and Bass parts. A guitar controller becomes necessary only for Pro Lead and Pro Bass; those parts appear as selectable options when a compatible guitar is connected.
Compatibility is platform-specific. Check the controller manufacturer’s current compatibility list for your console or PC before buying. A guitar made for one console generation is not automatically supported on another, and a generic USB guitar is not guaranteed to expose the inputs Festival expects.

Build a playable setlist in Fortnite Festival
Use the rotating featured selection
Featured Jam Tracks provide a way to play without purchasing every song. Because the selection rotates, a track visible today may not be available the next time you log in. If a song is important to your group, plan around its current availability instead of assuming the rotation is permanent.
Unlock tracks through seasonal progression
Seasonal progression can award Jam Tracks. The exact rewards change with each season, so consult the active progression path rather than an old guide. Treat a seasonal unlock as a time-limited opportunity: progression requirements and reward lists are not permanent.
Buy and share tracks with a party
Individual Jam Tracks can be purchased in the Item Shop with V-Bucks. A player who owns a track can add it for the party while everyone is in the same group, allowing friends to play together without each person owning that particular song. This sharing applies to the party session; it should not be read as a transfer of ownership to other accounts.
- Open the Item Shop and select the Jam Track you want.
- Complete the purchase with V-Bucks, or wait for the song to return if it is not currently listed.
- Open the Locker and equip the Jam Track before joining the Stage.
- Invite your party, enter Main Stage, and add the owned track to the setlist.
Epic’s introductory guidance allows a Main Stage setlist of up to four tracks. A party member who owns a track can add it, so decide who will supply each song before launching the set.

Keep the “full song” expectation realistic
Main Stage is the place to perform a song arrangement from beginning to end. Jam Stage uses loop-based mixing, so it can reproduce a song’s musical elements without presenting the same complete chart. When explaining the game to a friend, say “Main Stage performance” rather than implying that every Festival mode is a full-song playthrough.
Rock Band 4: the legacy band-focused alternative
Catalog and play style
Harmonix’s official Rock Band page lists 65 songs on the disc and more than 2,000 songs available for download. Those are historical catalog claims, not a promise that every listed song can still be purchased today. Rock Band 4 is built around a traditional band setup, with compatible guitar and drum controllers and support for USB microphones.
That makes it a better conceptual match than a loop-based mode if your priority is a fixed, band-style performance with dedicated instruments. It also means your real cost and effort may include finding compatible used hardware.
Platforms and hardware
The Rock Band Rivals bundle is described for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The official material references compatible guitar and drum controllers and supported USB microphones. Instrument bundles are no longer manufactured, so new-in-box sets are not the normal assumption; verify the exact console generation, wireless receiver requirements, and included accessories when buying used equipment.
Check availability before committing
A GamesRadar report dated October 1, 2025, said Rock Band 4 was set to be removed from PlayStation and Xbox digital stores as original soundtrack licenses expired. The report also said previously purchased copies and content would remain downloadable. Store status can differ by territory and can change after a delisting, so check your console’s current store and the game’s support information before planning a new purchase or a large downloadable-content library.

Do not infer that an old catalog list equals current inventory. A physical disc, a previously purchased digital copy, and a new digital purchase can have different availability.

Choose the right game for your goal
Choose Fortnite Festival when…
- You want to start without buying a dedicated instrument.
- Your friends already use Fortnite and you want a shared party session.
- You accept that featured songs rotate and that shop or seasonal access changes.
- You want the option to upgrade later to Pro Lead or Pro Bass with a compatible guitar.
- You need current support across newer consoles, PC, Switch, Android, or supported cloud regions.
Choose Rock Band 4 when…
- You specifically want guitar, bass, drums, and microphone roles in a band arrangement.
- You already own compatible Xbox One or PlayStation 4 hardware and instruments.
- You are comfortable checking used-market hardware and the current status of downloadable content.
- A historic catalog matters more than a continuously rotating service.
Use a two-check rule before buying
- Store check: confirm that the game, desired edition, and songs are purchasable in your territory today.
- Hardware check: confirm that every controller, adapter, receiver, and microphone works with your exact console or PC setup.
Failing either check can leave you with a playable game but no access to the songs or instrument parts you wanted.
Troubleshoot the most common setup problems
The game opens, but the song list is empty or smaller than expected
- In Festival, check whether you are viewing the rotating featured selection rather than a permanent library.
- Confirm that the track is currently in the Item Shop or seasonal reward path.
- Ask whether a party member owns the song and can add it to the Main Stage setlist.
- In Rock Band 4, check whether the song was previously purchased on the same platform account and whether the store still serves that content in your territory.
The timing feels wrong
- Run Fortnite’s audio, video, and input tune-up again from Game Settings.
- Use the same headphones or television configuration you will use during play.
- Remove unnecessary audio routing or capture hardware while calibrating.
- Recheck the input binding for the selected part after changing controllers.
Pro Lead or Pro Bass does not appear
- Connect the guitar before entering the Stage lobby.
- Confirm that the platform recognizes the controller.
- Verify that the guitar is a supported model for that platform and connection method.
- Return to the part-selection screen; the Pro options are visible only when a compatible guitar controller is connected.
A Rock Band instrument will not connect
- Identify whether the instrument is intended for Xbox One or PlayStation 4.
- Check for a required wireless receiver, USB adapter, or console-specific pairing process.
- Test the instrument with the game’s supported input screen before purchasing downloadable songs.
- When buying used equipment, ask for proof that the buttons, strum bar, drum pads, and microphone are functional.
A practical pre-purchase checklist
Use this checklist before spending money or promising a group a particular setlist:

- For a party, does at least one member own each intended track and know how to add it?
For most new players, the shortest path is Fortnite, Discover, Festival Main Stage, calibration, and a featured or party-owned Jam Track. For a dedicated band setup, Rock Band 4 can still be compelling, but only after you confirm current store status and locate compatible instruments.
