To see which apps are connected to your Google Account, open the account’s linked-apps or third-party-connections page, confirm that you are signed in to the right Google Account, select an app, and inspect the connection type shown. For an app that has permission to read or manage Google data, choose Access to your Google Account, open See details, select Remove access, and confirm.
That action stops the permission covered by the connection. It does not automatically erase information the developer already copied, delete the app’s separate account, or remove every possible connection. The correct control depends on whether the entry is Sign in with Google, access to Google Account data, a linked account, or agent access.
Open the linked-apps page and verify the account first
Google lists connected services in a central account-control page. The page may be labeled as linked apps, third-party connections, or connected apps as Google updates its account interface. Start from the Google Account that was used when the connection was created, then open the page that lists linked apps and third-party access.

Check which Google Account is signed in
Google connections belong to a specific Google Account, not automatically to every account in the same browser. If you use several accounts, confirm the profile image or account identifier before changing anything. A missing app often means the connection was created under another account. Switch accounts and check the linked-apps page again before assuming that the app has no connection.

Find the app in the list
- Sign in to the Google Account that authorized the app.
- Open the account page for linked apps or third-party connections.
- Review the list, using the available connection-type filters if the page provides them.
- Select the app entry and read the connection type and access details before choosing a removal command.
Do not remove an entry solely because its name looks unfamiliar. First open its details, check the developer or service name, and identify what the connection permits. Google’s grouping can show several different relationships, and each has a different removal action.
Know which kind of connection you are removing
The label on the app entry determines what will stop when you remove it. Use this table as a decision guide, then follow the matching procedure below.

An app can have more than one relationship with Google. Inspect each listed connection instead of assuming that one action removes every relationship.
Why the distinction matters
These labels describe different jobs. Sign in with Google concerns authentication, while data access concerns what the service can read, copy, or manage. A linked account connects two account records so a feature can work across them. Agent access gives Gemini or another Google agent permission to interact with the app. Removing one does not automatically remove the others.
For example, stopping Sign in with Google can prevent one-click authentication while an existing data authorization remains. Conversely, removing data access may block future reading of Google information but leave the app’s own sign-in relationship intact. If your goal is a complete cleanup, review every connection entry for that service.
Remove an app’s access to Google Account data
Use this procedure when the entry says that the app has access to your Google Account. Google’s official guidance states: “If you remove access, the app can’t access your Google Account.” The statement applies to the data access covered by that authorization.
- On the linked-apps page, locate the app and select Access to your Google Account.
- Choose the app entry to open its connection details.
- Select See details and read the listed data and permissions.
- Select Remove access.
- Confirm the removal when Google asks you to do so.
What the details tell you
The detail view identifies the categories of Google data the app was allowed to use. Basic profile information can identify you to the service. Other permissions can let an app view or copy data, while management permissions can allow it to edit, create, or delete data in the authorized area. Read the scope before removing it so you know which capability is ending.
Pay particular attention to management permissions. A service that can manage data has a broader practical impact than one that can only display basic profile information. If you do not recognize why a feature needs a particular scope, do not reauthorize it until you have checked the developer’s explanation and privacy disclosures.

What to expect after confirmation
Future requests covered by that authorization should be blocked. The app may ask you to authorize it again the next time you use a feature that depends on Google data. Revoking access is not a command to erase copies already stored by the developer; handle that separately as described below.
Stop using Sign in with Google for an app
Choose this route when the connection is specifically labeled Sign in with Google. It removes the Google sign-in relationship used for automatic or one-click sign-in.
- Open the app’s Sign in with Google connection from the linked-apps list.
- Open the connection details.
- Select Stop using Sign in with Google.
- Confirm the change.
Afterward, Google will no longer use that connection to sign you in automatically. The third-party account still exists, and information held in that account is not deleted by this action. If you continue using the service, you may need to sign in with another method that the developer supports, such as an email address and password or a different identity provider.
Before stopping this connection, make sure you know how you will recover the third-party account. The Google control changes the sign-in route; it does not create a password or another recovery method for you. If the service offers account settings for adding an alternate sign-in method, use those settings or contact the developer’s support team.
Delete a linked-account connection
A linked-account entry describes a relationship between your Google Account and an account maintained by the app. This is different from both Google-data permission and Sign in with Google.
- Select the app’s linked-account connection.
- Open the connection details.
- Choose Delete link.
- Confirm that you want to remove the link.
Deleting the link can disable features that rely on the two accounts being connected. The app’s own account and its stored data are not automatically deleted. If you want that account closed, use the developer’s account-deletion or privacy process as well.
After deleting a link, check the service for any feature that depended on shared account status. A broken integration does not necessarily mean the app account was closed; it usually means only the Google-to-app relationship was removed.
Stop Gemini or another Google agent from using the app
Some entries represent permission for Gemini or another Google agent to interact with an app. This is called agent access and has its own control.

- On the linked-apps page, find the app, or apply the Agent access filter if it is available.
- Select the app and open its details.
- Choose the option to stop using the app for the relevant agent.
- Confirm the change.
Stopping agent access ends that agent’s permission. Google states that it does not itself disconnect or delete the Google Account’s underlying link with the app. If you also want the app disconnected, return to the other connection entry and remove it using the control appropriate to its type.
Revocation is not the same as deleting data
Removing a permission controls future access; it is not a universal deletion request. An app may already have received, copied, or generated information while its authorization was active. Google advises contacting the third party to request deletion of data it already holds.
Ask the developer to delete stored information
Use the app’s privacy center, account settings, support channel, or data-deletion request process. Identify the account you used and specify the data or account you want deleted. The developer’s retention rules, legal obligations, backups, and verification requirements determine how that request is handled.
Keep a record of which Google connection you removed and which deletion request you sent. If the developer asks you to verify ownership, use the service’s stated process rather than sending credentials or unrelated personal information through an unverified channel.
Keep the Google connection and the app account separate
Deleting an account on the third-party service does not necessarily remove the Google connection. If your goal is to stop sharing from Google, remove the connection from Google’s linked-app controls as well. Conversely, removing a Google connection does not close the third-party account. Treat these as two separate tasks when you need both completed.
Understand what revocation does not promise
- It does not guarantee deletion of data the developer previously received.
- It does not automatically erase the app’s separate account.
- It does not necessarily end every other connection the same app has with Google.
- It does not restore data that the app changed or deleted while it had management permission.
Review permissions before granting or keeping access
Use the details page as a permission review, not just a removal screen. Google recommends checking what an app requests, reading its privacy policy and security disclosures, and granting access only to developers you trust.
Recognize the practical impact of common permission levels
- Basic profile information: may let the service identify your Google profile or display account details.
- View or copy access: can allow the app to read information and retain a copy on its systems.
- Management access: can include editing, creating, or deleting data within the authorized scope.
Only grant the minimum access needed for the feature. If an app requests a broader scope than its function appears to require, pause and investigate the developer, the purpose of each permission, and the service’s security disclosures.

Google cautions that an app requesting sensitive information may not have been reviewed for compliance with Google’s data-security policies. This can occur when an app is still in development or is limited to an organization. A warning does not by itself prove that an app is malicious, but it is a reason to grant access only when you understand and trust the developer.

Use time-limited authorization when offered
Some authorization flows may offer an expiration period instead of indefinite access. Google gives 30 or 180 days as examples and says users will be notified before a third party’s access ends. These periods are options that may appear for some connections, not a setting available for every app. If an expiration choice is presented, select the shortest period that fits the task and expect to reauthorize when it expires.
When to remove one connection or all of them
Choose the narrowest action that meets your goal. If you only want to prevent an app from reading Google data, remove its data authorization and leave a sign-in link in place only if you still trust it. If you no longer use the service, review and remove its sign-in, data, linked-account, and agent entries as applicable, then separately request account and data deletion from the developer.
If a feature stopped working after one removal, identify which relationship it required before reconnecting. Reauthorization can restore a capability, but it may also restore the same data scope. Read the consent screen and details again rather than accepting every requested permission automatically.

The app is not listed
- Verify the signed-in Google Account, especially if you use personal, work, school, or family accounts.
- Check each available connection-type filter; an app may appear under a linked account or agent-access category rather than data access.
- Look for the developer’s service name, which may differ from the app’s consumer-facing name.
- If the connection was created recently, sign out and back in, then reload the linked-apps page.
You see the app but not the command you expected
Read the connection label first. Remove access applies to Google Account data, Stop using Sign in with Google applies to Google-based sign-in, and Delete link applies to a linked account. Agent access has a separate stop control. The controls are not interchangeable.
The app still seems to have information after removal
Removal blocks the authorization going forward, but it cannot recall data the app already received. Contact the developer and request deletion through its privacy or account process. Also check whether another connection type remains for the same app.
A feature stopped working after deleting a link
That is an expected possibility for linked accounts. The feature may require the Google-to-app relationship. Reconnect only if you trust the service and still need the feature; review the requested permissions before authorizing it again.
You can no longer sign in
Stopping Sign in with Google removes that sign-in route but does not delete the app account. Use the developer’s account-recovery or alternate-sign-in process. If no alternate method exists, contact the developer rather than recreating an account and potentially losing access to existing data.

You stopped agent access but the app remains connected
Agent access and the underlying app connection are separate. Stopping the agent permission leaves the other relationship intact unless you remove it separately. Return to the linked-apps page and inspect the remaining entries.

A practical review checklist
Use this checklist whenever you are cleaning up connected services or deciding whether to keep one:
- Confirm the exact Google Account that authorized the service.
- Open the linked-apps page and inspect every entry for that service.
- Record the connection type before selecting a control.
- Read the data categories and management capabilities in See details.
- Remove data access, stop Sign in with Google, delete the account link, or stop agent access according to the label.
- Decide separately whether the developer should delete data already stored or close its account.
- Review the developer’s privacy policy and security disclosures before granting access again.
- If a time-limited authorization is offered, choose an expiration that matches how long you need the feature.
Google can change labels and grouping as account controls evolve. When the wording differs, rely on the connection type displayed for the app and choose the action that matches that relationship, rather than treating every entry as a single generic permission.
