“Delisted” usually means a game was removed from one store, not that it became illegal or impossible to obtain. The legal route depends on the exact Larry game, whether you already own it, and which storefront currently lists it.
As checked on October 13, 2026, classic titles removed from Steam still had a current digital route through GOG’s Leisure Suit Larry’s Greatest Hits and Misses listing, while existing owners of the specifically named classic Steam titles were told they would keep access in their libraries. The two newer Wet Dreams games had live GOG pages, and Assemble Entertainment announced that Steam availability would end after October 23, 2026. Store pages and regional availability can change, so verify the live listing before paying.
What “delisted” means for Leisure Suit Larry
A delisting removes a game from a storefront’s new-purchase catalog. It does not automatically revoke licenses already attached to customer accounts, erase every legitimate copy, or prove that the game is unavailable from other authorized stores. You must treat each storefront and title separately.
Assemble Entertainment’s April 30, 2025 Steam announcement named Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude Uncut and Uncensored and Leisure Suit Larry 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7 as leaving Steam. The notice explicitly said existing owners would retain those games in their Steam libraries. That is an entitlement statement for the listed titles; it is not a guarantee of indefinite account access, future Steam support, or perfect compatibility with every modern operating system.

For the newer games, Assemble’s October 8, 2026 announcement said Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Don’t Dry and Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Dry Twice would be available on Steam only until October 23, 2026. At the October 13 check, both also had live GOG product pages. The announcement did not establish a reason for the removal or say what would happen on other stores.
Use the official notices for dates: the April 30, 2025 classic-games Steam announcement and the October 8, 2026 Wet Dreams announcement.

GOG’s listing for Leisure Suit Larry’s Greatest Hits and Misses described the package as five complete adventures. That number is the collection’s description, not a count of every game ever released in the franchise. The same GOG series area lists Love for Sail! separately, so do not read the collection name as “all Larry games.” Open the current product details and expand the included-games section before purchasing.

Download without a launcher
The classic GOG page says its downloads are DRM-free, playable offline and available through a fully offline installer without GOG Galaxy. Galaxy is therefore optional for this listing. Download the installer from your GOG account, keep a backup of the installer and any account receipt, and install it on the computer where you intend to play.
The page lists Windows, Linux and macOS support and provides product-specific minimum requirements. Read those requirements on the live page for the exact edition you buy; the evidence does not justify one universal “modern PC” compatibility claim. A current operating system may still require you to follow the product’s stated version, processor, memory, graphics or storage requirements.
Separate listing for Love for Sail!
Because Love for Sail! appears separately in the GOG series area, treat it as its own purchase and installation decision. Do not assume it is one of the five adventures in the collection unless the current product page explicitly says so.

Playing a classic game you already own on Steam
- Sign in to the Steam account that bought the game.
- Open Library and search for the exact Larry title named in the 2025 removal notice.
- Select the game and choose Install. If it is hidden, use the library’s filters and search for “Leisure Suit Larry” or “Magna Cum Laude.”
- After installation, launch it from the library. Keep Steam installed and signed in when the title requires the client to validate ownership.
Assemble’s wording was: “If you already own any of these retro gems, they’ll stay right in your library—ready to play anytime you need a nostalgic dose of Larry’s misadventures.” That statement supports continued library access for the named classic titles. It does not create a new-purchase option, transfer a license between accounts, or promise that an old executable will run without configuration on every current OS.

If a title is absent, first verify that you are using the original purchasing account and that Steam’s library filters are not hiding it. Check the game’s Steam community and support information for installation-specific problems, but do not download an unauthorized replacement merely because the store page is gone.
Getting the two Wet Dreams games legally
Wet Dreams Don’t Dry
The official GOG page for Wet Dreams Don’t Dry was live when checked October 13, 2026. Open the page, confirm the edition and supported operating systems, and purchase only through the authorized listing. Assemble’s Steam announcement said Steam availability would end after October 23, 2026; because the check occurred before that date, you must verify the current Steam page rather than relying on an old search result.
Wet Dreams Dry Twice
The official GOG page for Wet Dreams Dry Twice was likewise live on October 13, 2026. Follow the same process: identify the exact product, read its current requirements, save the installer after purchase and recheck the page if you are buying after the Steam deadline.
Do not infer a reason for the Steam change
Assemble’s notice says it cannot share information about the games’ future. It establishes the Steam availability date, but not a licensing explanation, a permanent franchise shutdown or a GOG removal. Avoid treating forum theories or reports about expiring licenses as confirmed facts.

Using a genuine boxed or used PC copy
Historical documentation shows that boxed Larry collections existed. The archived collection manual and Sierra catalog are evidence of those physical releases, not proof that a particular copy is currently for sale, complete or compatible with your computer.
A used disc can be a lawful way to obtain a genuine copy, but resale and license rules differ by jurisdiction and by the edition’s terms. The sources here do not resolve every country’s exhaustion or resale law. Buy from a seller who can identify the release and show photographs of the actual media rather than relying on a generic “Larry collection” description.
Physical-copy checklist
- Identify the exact title, edition, publisher and platform. Check whether it is the original game, a remake, an expansion or a compilation.
- Confirm that every required disc is present and readable. Some editions may rely on a manual, registration code or other insert.
- Check the region and language version if those matter to you.
- Make sure your target computer has a working optical drive or an appropriate, lawful way to read the media.
- Ask the seller about disc condition, missing keys, damaged packaging and return terms.
- Do not assume that an original CD-ROM will install or run on a current operating system simply because the box is authentic.
When an authorized digital edition exists, it is usually the more predictable modern-PC route because its product page states the supported systems and provides a current installer. A physical copy is most useful when collecting, preserving a particular edition or obtaining a title not listed digitally.
How to check compatibility before paying
- Write down the exact game and edition. Include whether it is a classic numbered title, Magna Cum Laude, Love for Sail! or one of the Wet Dreams games.
- Open the official product page. Read the supported operating systems and minimum requirements for that product instead of borrowing specifications from another Larry release.
- Decide whether you need offline play. GOG’s classic listing says Galaxy is optional and offers an offline installer; a Steam entitlement normally involves the Steam client for installation and ownership checks.
- Check your hardware. For digital purchases, compare your computer with the listed requirements. For discs, verify the optical drive, available storage and operating-system support before ordering.
- Save purchase records. Keep the store receipt and a backup of any permitted offline installer. This does not replace the account license, but it makes reinstalling easier.
Do not use a modern compatibility claim for one game as proof for another. The collection page’s listed operating systems and requirements apply to that product page, while a boxed release may have been designed for hardware and operating systems that are no longer common.

Legal boundaries: what to avoid
Use the official GOG or Steam listing, an existing account entitlement, or a genuine used copy. Do not rely on unauthorized downloads, cracks, “abandonware” archives or key sellers whose provenance is unclear. A game being absent from a store does not create a public-domain copy or authorize redistribution.
Buying a used disc is different from downloading an image of someone else’s disc. Confirm that the physical media is genuine and that your use complies with the law where you live. If a listing promises a serial key without identifying its source, treat that as a provenance risk rather than as proof of a legitimate license.
Keep “can I buy it?” separate from “can I play it?” A store may stop selling a title while continuing to honor an existing Steam entitlement; conversely, a genuine old disc may be difficult to run on current hardware. Verify both the legal license and the technical path.
Troubleshooting common access problems
The game was delisted and I cannot find it in Steam
- Confirm the account that originally purchased it.
- Search the full library, including hidden or filtered titles.
- Check whether the title is one of the classic games named in Assemble’s April 30, 2025 notice. The retention statement does not automatically cover an unlisted title.
- If the entitlement is still missing, contact Steam Support rather than downloading an unauthorized copy.
The GOG page looks different from an old guide
Store pages change by region, edition and date. Open the current product details, verify the included games and supported systems, and do not assume that an old bundle still contains the same titles. The classic listing’s five-adventure description and the separate Love for Sail! entry are the distinctions that matter when checking the package.
The physical disc will not install
- Inspect the disc for damage and confirm that the disc set is complete.
- Verify that the computer can read the media and that the edition matches the operating system you are using.
- Check the manual or publisher documentation for requirements specific to that release.
- If a legitimate digital edition is available, compare its supported systems before spending more on adapters or replacement media.
The Steam deadline has passed
After October 23, 2026, check the live Steam pages and the two official GOG pages directly. The October 13 snapshot cannot establish what a store will show after the deadline, and it cannot guarantee that regional listings, pricing or purchasing options remain unchanged.

Start with the exact title, not the word “delisted.” Classic Steam removals were store-specific, and prior owners of the named 2025 games were told to keep their library access. GOG provided a current route for a five-adventure classic collection and had live pages for both Wet Dreams games on October 13, 2026. Used boxed media remains a possible collector’s route, but it requires checks for authenticity, completeness and modern compatibility. Recheck every live store page—especially the Wet Dreams Steam status—when you are ready to buy.
