To download a game you claimed on the Epic Games Store, open the Epic Games Launcher, go to Library, select the game, choose where to install it, and select Install. When the download finishes, select the game’s icon to launch it. You can browse and buy games on Epic’s website, but Epic says you need the Launcher to view and manage your library.
If a title you remember claiming is missing, first check that you are signed in to the right account and that Library filters are not hiding it. Then check whether the game was a permanent free-promotion claim, a temporary beta or press build, a gift for someone else, or an entitlement that was refunded or revoked. Those checks help separate a display problem from a change in access.
Download a claimed game from the Epic Games Launcher
Use the Launcher rather than the Epic Games Store website. The website does not show your personal library; the Launcher is where you find, install, and manage the games on your account. These steps reflect Epic’s English-language support instructions. Labels or their placement may vary between Launcher versions.

A claim and an installation are two different things. Claiming associates the game’s access with an Epic account; installing downloads game files to a computer. A game can therefore belong to your account without currently being installed on the computer you are using. You do not need to search the Store page and buy the title again just because it is not already installed—first look for it in the account’s Library.

- Install and open the Epic Games Launcher if it is not already on your computer.
- Select Library in the Launcher.
- Find the game you claimed. Search for its full title, or enter a distinctive part of the title.
- Select the game. When prompted, choose an installation directory on your computer.
- Select Install and let the download finish.
- Select the game’s icon in the Launcher to start it.
Before starting, make sure you are signed in to the Epic account that made the claim. If more than one person uses the computer, or you have more than one Epic account, a title’s absence from the currently open account does not show that the claim failed. Library contents are associated with the account, not simply with the computer on which the Launcher is installed.
In Library, search for the complete title or a distinctive word in it. The Library search accepts partial words, so you do not necessarily need to type the exact full name. Select the title to open its install option. Choose the installation directory when prompted, then select Install. The game’s files are downloaded to that location; once the download completes, select the game icon in the Launcher to launch it.
Claiming a game and installing it are separate actions: a claim adds access to the account, while installation downloads the game files to a computer. If the title is not visible in Library, check the account and display settings before assuming the claim failed. Also check whether the game supports the platform and operating system you are using; a claim does not make a game installable on every device.

Work through these checks in order. They distinguish a title that is merely hidden from one that is unavailable to the account. Start with the easiest explanations—account identity and Library visibility—before concluding that an entitlement has changed.
1. Check the account and sign-in method
Make sure the Launcher is signed in to the Epic account used to claim the game. A game claimed on one account will not appear in the library of another. This is especially easy to overlook if you have more than one account or if another person used the Launcher on the computer.
If you originally accessed that account through an external sign-in such as Google or Facebook, try the same sign-in route rather than signing in with a different Epic account. The relevant question is not only whether you are signed in, but whether you have opened the account that made the claim. After changing to the correct account, return to Library and search again.
2. Search again and clear the filters
Search using a distinctive word from the title; the Library search accepts partial words. Then check the Library filters. In particular, the Installed filter shows installed games only, so clear it to see titles you have not downloaded. A claimed game that has never been installed—or that is no longer installed—can be excluded from view while this filter is active.

Reset other active filters too. A filter can narrow the visible list even when the game remains associated with the account, so do not treat a filtered result as a complete inventory. After clearing filters, refresh the Library view and search again. These steps address visibility: they do not restore access if a refund or another entitlement change has removed it.
3. Check whether Library is hidden
Epic’s missing-games troubleshooting also advises checking the Launcher settings to see whether the Library is hidden. If it is, change the setting so the Library is shown, then return to Library and check the title again. This is a different issue from a game being absent from the account: a hidden Library affects where you can view your games, not which account claimed them.
4. Restart the Launcher and clear its web cache
If the account and filters look right but the Library appears stale or incomplete, restart the Epic Games Launcher and check again. Epic also recommends clearing the Launcher’s web cache as a troubleshooting step. These are useful checks when the displayed Library may not have refreshed as expected; they do not change the account that owns a claim or reverse a refund.
The exact cache-clearing procedure can depend on the operating system and Launcher version, so follow Epic’s current support instructions for your setup rather than deleting unrelated game files. Do not remove installed games or other files simply because a title is missing from the list: first use the account, filter, and Library checks above, then use the current cache instructions if the view still seems incomplete.

Check that the title is available for the platform and operating system you are using. A claim does not make a game installable on every device. Epic’s instructions do not establish that every game supports every operating system or that all platform versions share the same library behavior.
Compatibility is distinct from visibility. A game may be associated with an account while the version you are trying to install is not supported on the current platform. If the title appears in Library but the install option is unavailable or the download cannot proceed, check platform and operating-system support before repeating searches or changing filters. The English-language support instructions do not promise that every game has a build for every system.
6. Check the transaction or access history
If the account, filters, Library setting, and refresh checks do not explain the problem, consider how you received access. Was it claimed in a free-game promotion, accessed as a beta or press build, purchased and later refunded, bought as a gift for another person, or redeemed with a retail code? These are not interchangeable forms of access. The distinction can explain why a title once appeared but is no longer available to install.

Why a game may be unavailable even when you expected it in your account
Once you have ruled out an account mismatch and Library display issue, consider whether the account still has the relevant entitlement—the access associated with a purchase, claim, or code. Visibility problems and entitlement problems call for different next steps: clearing a filter can reveal a hidden title, but it cannot restore access that has been removed.
Free-promotion claims generally remain in the Library
Epic says games claimed during a free-game promotion remain in the account library permanently. If you claimed a title through such a promotion, confirm that you are signed into the account that made the claim and that the Installed filter and other filters are cleared. The promotional claim is not the same as installing the game: the game can remain in your Library even when its files are not on the computer.
That policy is different from temporary access to a beta or press build. Those versions may be available only for a limited period and can be removed when that period ends. If you had access through a test build rather than a promotional claim, the end of the access window may explain why you can no longer download it. Consider what kind of access you had before treating a missing test build as a failed free-game claim.
A refund removes access
If the game was refunded, Epic says access is removed. A refunded title is therefore not simply a game hidden by the Installed filter, and refreshing the Launcher will not restore its entitlement. Check the transaction and account you used if you are unsure whether the game was refunded or claimed on a different account. This is one reason to establish account identity and clear filters before troubleshooting the download itself.
A purchase made as a gift belongs to the recipient
A game bought as a gift for someone else may not be available to install on the buyer’s account. Epic says the Purchases transaction details mark a gift as “Gifted to” under the item. Check those details to distinguish a gift sent to another person from a game claimed for your own library. The fact that a purchase appears in your transaction history does not by itself mean the game was added to your own Library.
A revoked retail code can remove access
Epic lists revoked fraudulent retail codes as another possible reason for a game to disappear or become unavailable. If you redeemed a retail code and Epic revoked it, contact the retailer that supplied it; Epic’s support guidance directs players to the retailer for this issue. Restarting the Launcher or changing filters cannot resolve a revoked code, because those steps affect the Library display rather than the code’s status.
What to check when the download cannot start
First identify what you see. A title absent from the list points toward account identity, visibility, or entitlement. A listed title that cannot be installed calls for a compatibility or access check. A Library that seems not to update calls for a refresh, restart, or the cache troubleshooting Epic recommends. Separating those symptoms can save time and prevent repeating steps that cannot address the underlying cause.

- The game is not listed: verify the account and sign-in method, search by full title or a distinctive partial word, clear the Installed filter and other filters, refresh the Library, and check whether Library is hidden.
- The game is listed but you cannot install it: check platform and operating-system compatibility, then consider whether a refund, gift purchase, revoked code, or expired limited-time build affects access.
- The Library does not update: restart the Launcher and use Epic’s current instructions to clear its web cache. Avoid deleting unrelated files while trying to refresh the list.
- You claimed it during a free promotion: confirm that you are signed into the account that made the claim and that filters are not excluding uninstalled titles; Epic says promotional claims remain in that account’s Library.
- You can see the purchase but not the game: open the Purchases transaction details and check whether the item is marked “Gifted to”. A gift bought for another person may not belong in the buyer’s Library.
- You received access to a beta or press build: consider whether its limited access period has ended. Temporary test access is different from a free-game promotion claim.
- You redeemed a retail code: if the code was revoked as fraudulent, contact the retailer that supplied it, as Epic’s support guidance recommends.
These checks address different problems: search and filters affect visibility, account credentials affect identity, platform support affects compatibility, and refunds or other access changes affect entitlement. Changing filters will not restore access removed by a refund, and restarting the Launcher will not move a claim from another account. Likewise, a game that is merely uninstalled does not need to be claimed again; find it in Library and install it there.
Does claiming a game guarantee it will always be downloadable?
Not in every possible circumstance. Epic’s EULA describes Store software as licensed rather than sold and says that, in rare cases, software may be removed from the Store and become unavailable for further download or access. A free-promotion claim normally remains in the Library, but that general promotion policy should not be read as a guarantee that every game will remain downloadable forever under all circumstances.
That caveat is separate from the ordinary case of a claimed game that is simply not installed. For a normal free-promotion claim, begin by checking the account, filters, and Library display. The EULA describes a rare possibility of later unavailability; it does not mean that every missing title has been removed from the Store. Use the specific symptoms and transaction history to work out which explanation applies.
Can you download a claimed game from the Epic Games website?
No. Epic says the website supports browsing and purchasing, but it does not show your personal game library. Open the Epic Games Launcher and use Library to find and install a claimed title. If you can view a Store page on the website, that does not substitute for checking the account’s Library in the Launcher.

Before concluding that a claim is gone, make a short pass through the most likely explanations. Confirm the account and sign-in route used at the time of the claim. Search Library with a partial title, clear Installed and any other filters, show Library if it is hidden, and refresh the view. If the Launcher still looks stale, restart it and use Epic’s current web-cache instructions for your operating system.
Then check the kind of access involved. A promotional claim should remain in the account Library, while a beta or press build may have been limited to a specific period. Review Purchases details for a gift marked “Gifted to,” check whether a refund occurred, and contact the retailer if a redeemed retail code was revoked. Finally, confirm the game supports the platform and operating system you are trying to use. The result tells you whether the next step is a Library display fix, an account correction, a compatibility check, or an entitlement question.

Can I see my Epic Games Library on the Epic Games website?
No. Epic says the website lets you browse and purchase games, but it does not display your personal Library. Open the Epic Games Launcher and select Library to find and manage your games.

How do I install a game I claimed on the Epic Games Store?
Open the Epic Games Launcher, select Library, find the game, choose an installation directory, and select Install. When the download completes, select the game icon in the Launcher to launch it.
Why is a game I claimed missing from my Epic Games Launcher Library?
Check that you are signed into the account that made the claim, including the correct external sign-in route if you used one. Search by a partial title, clear the Installed and other filters, refresh Library, and check whether Library is hidden. If it remains missing, check compatibility and whether access was refunded, gifted to someone else, limited to a beta or press period, or revoked with a retail code.
Do free Epic Games Store games stay in my Library?
Epic says games claimed during a free-game promotion remain in the account Library permanently. Make sure you are signed into the account that claimed the promotion and that filters are not hiding uninstalled titles. Check the transaction details for “Gifted to” beneath the item. A game purchased as a gift for someone else may not be available in the buyer’s Library. Also check whether the game was refunded, whether a retail code was revoked, and whether the game supports your platform and operating system.
Will restarting the Launcher restore a refunded game?
No. Restarting can help if the Library view is stale, but Epic says a refund removes access. A refresh or cache-clearing step affects display troubleshooting, not the entitlement removed by a refund.
What should I do if Epic revoked my retail code?
Epic’s support guidance advises contacting the retailer that supplied the code when a redeemed retail code was revoked as fraudulent.
Does a claimed game remain downloadable forever?
Not necessarily in every circumstance. Epic’s EULA says that in rare cases software may be removed from the Store and become unavailable for further download or access. That caveat is separate from Epic’s statement that free-promotion claims remain in the Library.
