Amazon First Reads is the likely source of the “two free Kindle books” offer, but the October 2026 titles, number of books available, price, eligibility rules and deadline have not been verified. Check Amazon’s live First Reads page in your marketplace and while signed in: claim only titles shown at the offer price for your account, and follow the terms and end date displayed there.
How to check Amazon First Reads and claim an eligible book
-
Open Amazon’s First Reads page for the marketplace where you shop, then sign in to the account you intend to use. Offers can vary by marketplace or account, so check the terms shown on that page rather than relying on a listing from another country or account.
-
Review the current selection and the offer details. The selection changes by month; a September 2026 listing, for example, is not evidence of what is offered in October. Confirm that the title is included and that its displayed price matches the offer before proceeding.

Choose the title and complete the claim or checkout steps Amazon presents. Check the final price and confirmation before you finish; do not assume a book is free just because it appears in a roundup or in a reading catalog.

Are there two free Kindle books in October?
The title of this guide reflects the offer readers may be seeking, but the October 2026 selection was not confirmed. The available month-specific evidence points to Amazon First Reads as the likely program, not to a verified October offer of exactly two books. Check the live page to see how many titles are available to your account and whether each is shown at the offer price.

How First Reads differs from other Amazon reading services
| Service | What it is | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon First Reads | A monthly selection of titles is the likely source of the offer discussed here; the October 2026 selection and terms are unverified. | Which titles the page includes, the price shown for your account, any eligibility terms, and the displayed end date. |
| Prime Reading | A separate Amazon catalog of digital reading content, not the same offer as First Reads. | Its own catalog and terms; seeing a title in this catalog does not establish that it is a First Reads offer. |
| Kindle Unlimited | A separate subscription service. The available evidence does not establish it as necessary to claim a First Reads title. | Do not treat it as a requirement for First Reads unless the live offer’s terms say so. |
What happens to a book after you claim it?
Amazon’s Kindle Store Terms of Use describe Kindle content as licensed rather than sold. The terms also say subscription content is available only while the customer remains an active member of the relevant program. Those general terms do not establish the access period for every First Reads title, so check the terms for the specific offer rather than assuming access is permanent regardless of membership status.
