To find Roku’s app store, press Home on your remote and select Store or Streaming Store. Some interfaces call it Streaming Channels. Browse or search for an app, open its listing, and choose Add app. You can also add apps from Roku’s website or mobile app.
How do I find the Channel Store on my Roku?
- Press Home on your Roku remote.
- Choose Store or Streaming Store. On some interfaces, the option is named Streaming Channels.
- Browse categories or use search to find an app, then open its details.
Roku uses “Streaming Store” and “Roku Store” in current support guidance, while some instructions and interfaces use “Channel Store” or “Streaming Channels.” The exact label can differ by device or region. Roku describes the store as a place to find apps and free TV, but individual apps and their content have their own terms. How do I add a channel or app to Roku?
- From the store, browse or search for the app you want.
- Open the app’s details and review its description and any pricing or subscription information.
- Select Add app and follow any on-screen prompts.
The app is added to your Roku account and appears on the Home screen, commonly toward the end of the app list. You can move it to a different position. Will adding a channel charge me?
Not necessarily. Some apps are free to add, while others require a subscription or a one-time payment. Installing an app and subscribing to the service it offers are separate matters: check the app listing and read each confirmation or checkout screen before proceeding. Roku may ask for your account PIN when you add an app or sign up for a subscription. Roku Support explains app, PIN, and payment prompts.
Why isn’t the app I added showing up?
If you added an app from Roku’s website or mobile app and it has not appeared on your device, manually check for a system update:

- Go to Settings > System > System update.
- Select Check now.
Roku says remotely added apps may not appear immediately because the device checks periodically; checking for an update is its recommended way to prompt an immediate check. Why can’t I find a particular app?
Roku search results and app availability can vary by region, and some apps or content require payment. Services may also have their own eligibility requirements. Check the listing on your Roku device and the service’s requirements rather than assuming an app available in another country will appear in your store. For example, Roku’s support page, last updated June 23, 2026, says The Roku Channel is available on Roku devices, the web, and mobile in the United States, Canada, and United Kingdom, and on Roku devices in Mexico.
