If an Intel channel partner has closed, start with Intel’s official Distributor Partner Directory. Select the country or region you serve, filter for the distributor role and the Intel product category you need, then contact candidates through their own websites. Confirm stock, territory, onboarding, payment, delivery and sourcing with each company. For questions about whether a former seller was authorized, contact Intel Support with the seller’s name; an old listing or cached page is not current proof.
What to do first when an Intel partner shuts down
A closed reseller creates two separate problems: finding a replacement purchasing route and establishing whether the former company was authorized. Solve them in that order, but keep the questions distinct. Intel’s live directory is the source for current partner discovery. Intel Support handles questions about a seller’s past authorization.
Before searching, write down the market you need to serve and the exact business requirement. A company buying boxed processors for an integration business may need a different partner from an organization sourcing server components, complete systems or cloud-related services. The directory can narrow candidates, but it cannot decide which company can meet your commercial or technical requirements.

- Products: processor, server, component, system or another Intel product family.
- Account type: OEM, system builder, value-added reseller, integrator, enterprise buyer or another business model.
- Urgency: immediate replacement stock, a scheduled project or a long-term supply relationship.
- Commercial needs: credit terms, minimum order quantities, export handling, warranty process and delivery locations.
Do not choose a named replacement before these details are known. A company listed in the right country may still lack the product category, territory coverage or account process your business requires.

Use Intel’s official Distributor Partner Directory
Intel identifies its Distributor Partner Directory as the route to current Intel Authorized Distributors and Intel Approved Suppliers. Open the directory, select your country or region, and use the available filters to reduce the results. The directory includes filters for location, type, product, components, category and region.
- Choose the market. Set the location or region to where your account operates or where the order must be fulfilled. If your business spans several countries, search each relevant market rather than assuming one listing covers all territories.
- Set the partner type. Select the distributor role when you need a company that buys and supplies Intel products through the channel. Do not treat every entry in Intel’s wider partner ecosystem as a distributor.
- Narrow by product and component. Apply the product, components and category filters that match your requirement. Use the narrowest accurate combination; an overly broad search can return partners that do not handle your product family.
- Review the resulting companies. Record the company name, listed role, location and any regional or product information shown. The directory is a discovery tool, not a quotation or inventory system.
- Open the distributor’s own website. Intel’s purchasing guidance tells Partner Alliance members to select their country, view regional distributors and follow the distributor website link to make contact.
Directory entries, contact details and partner status are volatile. Recheck the official directory when you begin the replacement process and again before placing an order. A search-engine result, reseller marketplace page or cached directory copy can be out of date.
Distributor versus other Intel partner roles
Intel’s broader Partner Directory contains several roles that support different kinds of work. A listing in that directory does not automatically mean the company can sell you components as a distributor.

Filter for a distributor when the immediate problem is replacing a purchasing channel. Contact another role only when your requirement is actually a system, software, integration or hosted service.
How to contact a replacement distributor
Use the candidate’s website link from Intel’s directory, then ask for a business-to-business sales or channel contact. A short, complete first message reduces the back-and-forth needed to determine whether the company can take over the account.

Information to include in your first inquiry
- Your legal business name, billing country and delivery countries.
- Your customer type and whether you resell, build, integrate or consume the products.
- The Intel product family, component type, model or platform generation required.
- Estimated quantities, order frequency and the date of the next required shipment.
- Whether you need spot stock, a scheduled allocation, a recurring supply agreement or project pricing.
- Any import, export, tax, compliance or end-customer restrictions that affect fulfillment.
- The payment method you can support and whether you need credit terms.
Questions that establish whether the relationship is workable
- Do you serve my country and delivery territory directly, or through another entity?
- Which Intel product families and component categories do you currently supply?
- Is the requested item physically in stock, allocated, backordered or available only on quotation?
- What lead time and delivery method apply to my location?
- What information is required to open an account, and how long does approval normally take?
- What are the minimum order quantity, pricing validity period and payment terms?
- How do you handle warranty, returns, defective units and product-change notifications?
- How will you document product origin and sourcing for my records?
Ask the distributor to put material answers in writing. Keep the quotation, account documents, shipping terms and correspondence together so another employee can reconstruct the decision if the replacement relationship changes later.
How to verify a seller’s Intel authorization
Checking a candidate’s current status
Use the live Distributor Partner Directory to check whether a candidate is presently listed and what role is shown. Match the legal entity and territory, not just a familiar trading name. A company may operate several brands, subsidiaries or country-specific entities, so ask the sales contact which entity will invoice and ship your order.

Those are commercial facts that must be confirmed directly with the candidate.
Checking a closed partner’s former status
If you need to know whether the closed or former seller previously held Intel Authorized Distributor status, Intel’s instruction is to contact customer support and provide the seller’s name. Include the legal name, trading name, country, approximate dates of your relationship and any account or invoice reference that helps Intel identify the entity.
Ask Intel to distinguish historical authorization from current authorization. A former partner can have been authorized during the period in which you purchased from it and no longer appear in the current directory. Conversely, a historical web page does not establish that a company is authorized today.

What not to use as proof
- A third-party reseller list with no current Intel confirmation.
- An archived or cached version of Intel’s directory.
- A seller’s claim that it is “official” without an identifiable directory entry or Intel confirmation.
- A product listing on a marketplace, which does not establish channel authorization.
- An old purchase order that identifies a product but not the seller’s authorization status.
Build a shortlist instead of choosing the first result
When the directory returns several plausible distributors, compare them against the same criteria. A simple scorecard prevents a low price or attractive stock promise from hiding a territory or support problem.

Intel’s directory does not independently verify any candidate’s current inventory or commercial terms. Treat each row as a question for the distributor, and retain the answer with the date it was supplied.
Protect orders and warranties during the transition
Separate replacement sourcing from open orders
List every purchase order, backorder, prepaid balance, return authorization and warranty claim connected to the closed partner. Contact the seller’s administrator, supplier or payment provider as appropriate, but do not assume a new distributor inherits the old company’s obligations. Ask Intel Support whether it can clarify authorization history; contractual debts, refunds and freight claims may require a separate legal or financial process.
Preserve product and transaction records
- Invoices, purchase orders, serial numbers and shipment tracking.
- Warranty correspondence, return authorizations and failure reports.
- Written statements about the former partner’s role or authorization.
- Product specifications and approved substitutes for each affected project.
- Dates on which directory status, quotations and stock commitments were checked.
These records help a new distributor understand continuity requirements and give Intel Support enough context to answer a historical-status question.
Validate substitutions before ordering
If the original item is unavailable, ask your engineering or procurement owner to approve any substitute. Similar names do not guarantee identical socket, firmware, memory, thermal, performance or warranty characteristics. A distributor can propose an alternative, but your organization remains responsible for confirming that it fits the design and customer commitment.

Common failure modes and practical fixes
The directory shows no result
Broaden one filter at a time. First verify the country or region, then remove an overly specific product or component filter while keeping the distributor type selected. If no suitable entry appears, contact Intel Support and explain the market, product category and account model. Do not infer that an unrelated partner role is a distributor merely because the search is empty.
The result is in the wrong country
Ask whether the listed entity sells into your territory and which legal entity will invoice you. Cross-border sales may involve export controls, tax registration, import responsibility or different warranty handling. Obtain those details before accepting a quote.
The seller claims authorization but is absent from the live directory
Pause the order and request clarification from Intel Support. Provide the seller’s legal name and country, and ask whether the status is current, historical, changed or recorded under another entity. Do not rely on a badge, logo or old web copy as a substitute for current confirmation.
The distributor has stock but cannot onboard your account
Ask whether another listed distributor can support your account type, or whether the first company can refer you to an approved regional entity. Keep the product requirement unchanged while you compare onboarding, payment and delivery conditions.
A quotation expires before approval
Request a new written quote after the account is approved. Record the validity date, currency, taxes, freight and allocation conditions; a verbal extension does not preserve the original commercial terms.

The former partner’s name appears in an old list
Treat the old list as historical context only. Intel published a 2025 notice recording distributors or suppliers removed from its network or moved to another status, illustrating why historical lists cannot establish current standing. Recheck the live directory and ask Intel Support when status is uncertain.
A repeatable replacement workflow
Use this sequence whenever a channel partner closes or becomes unreachable:
- Document the affected orders, products, territories, deadlines and unresolved claims.
- Define the country, product category, account type and commercial requirements.
- Search Intel’s Distributor Partner Directory using the country or region and distributor filter.
- Apply product, components and category filters, then record several plausible candidates.
- Open each candidate’s website through the directory and send the same structured inquiry.
- Compare territory, product fit, onboarding, stock, lead time, terms, delivery, returns and sourcing evidence.
- Check the selected company’s current listing again immediately before ordering.
- Contact Intel Support with the former seller’s name if you need historical authorization confirmation.
- Obtain a written quotation and account approval before committing funds or promising delivery to your customer.
- Archive the directory check, authorization correspondence, quote and shipment documents.
This workflow keeps Intel’s role clear: the directory helps you identify current channel companies, while the distributor confirms the transaction details and Intel Support addresses authorization questions.
What Intel’s channel model means for your search
Intel Support states, “Intel doesn’t sell directly to end users. We only sell our products through Intel® Authorized Distributors.” The statement appears in Intel Support’s “Does Intel Sell Direct to the Customer?” article, last reviewed February 14, 2025. For an end user replacing a closed reseller, that means the practical route is to identify an authorized channel company rather than seek a direct retail sale from Intel.
The model does not guarantee that every authorized distributor serves every buyer, product, quantity or country. Your final decision still depends on the candidate’s current listing, territory, inventory, account approval and written commercial terms.
Keep the information current
Partner status, contacts, stock and regional coverage can change after you complete a search. Revisit the official directory when a project moves from planning to purchase, when a quotation expires, or whenever a distributor changes ownership or trading name. If a status question cannot be resolved from the live listing, use Intel Support and provide the exact seller name rather than relying on an unofficial directory.
