On Pendola Pass, extraction uses a Ballistic Gondola called from a Gondola Transceiver. Find the console on your map, call the gondola, then follow its incoming marker and the green smoke to the landing site. Calling and boarding can expose your position, so check the approach and get your squad ready before anyone enters a pod.
How Pendola Pass extraction works
The Ballistic Gondola is the extraction method described for Pendola Pass. Arc Raiders Hub’s extraction guide says there are no Raider Hatches or walk-up elevators on this map, so plan around calling and boarding the gondola rather than searching for another exit. That distinction matters after a successful loot run: the extraction point is not simply a doorway you can approach whenever you are ready. You need to find a transceiver, make the call, locate the gondola where it lands, and board while managing the risks along the way.
The gondola does not land at the tower where you called it. According to Arc Raiders Hub’s guide, updated October 8, 2026, marked as being updated, and based on early-access footage, it lands about 100–150 metres from the transceiver. Treat that distance and the timings below as reported guidance, not guarantees: game mechanics can change. Use the in-game marker and directional light to navigate instead of treating the reported distance as a fixed route length.

Call and board the Ballistic Gondola
- Find a Gondola Transceiver. Open the map and locate an extraction icon. Go to the tower console and request the Ballistic Gondola. This is the start of the extraction sequence, not the landing location itself. If you are carrying a valuable item, decide before interacting that the squad is ready to leave; the call commits you to watching for the incoming gondola and moving toward its drop point.
- Orient toward the landing site. After the call, use the transceiver’s directional light and the map’s incoming marker to identify where the gondola is heading. Follow the marker; look for green smoke when it reaches the ground. Do not remain at the tower simply because that is where the console is. The reported landing distance is roughly 100–150 metres away, so expect to move from the call point to the landing point and use the visual cues to stay oriented.
- Check the approach before committing. The call makes noise, and breaching a pod leaves you exposed. Check nearby cover and the route to the gondola before moving in. The extraction guide describes three pods, not a guarantee that a whole squad can use a single pod or that every pod will always be available. Keep the team together long enough to decide who is boarding where, then enter once everyone is in position.
- Leave the tower and landing site behind once extracted. The useful cues are the marker, directional light, landing smoke, and the pod sequence. If the marker and smoke have led you to the gondola, focus on boarding rather than circling back toward the call point. The guide does not give a separate mechanic for cancelling the call or extending the wait, so do not build a plan around either option.
Choose between a pod and riding on top
The guide describes Raiders using a grappling hook to attach to the gondola and ride on top. It presents this as an alternative, not as a protected or safer extraction. Riders on top remain exposed to ARC and other squads. Treat it as a reported overflow option only; if a pod is available and the squad can board it, the enclosed pod is the more defensible approach described by the guide.

The top-riding detail may be useful if the pods cannot accommodate the group, but the cited guide does not establish a guaranteed capacity for a squad or a way to make the top position safe. Do not rely on grappling onto the gondola as the default plan, and do not let the possibility of doing so replace a boarding decision made before the countdown starts.
What to do if Flash Freeze starts
Pendola Pass is a frozen alpine map where Flash Freeze can begin during a raid. PC Gamer reports that players start taking damage after a while, and that Storm Huts appear on the map and open during Flash Freeze, providing shelter and loot. The storm can therefore change the urgency of an extraction run: an exposed route that seemed acceptable may become more costly if you stay outside while preparing to board.

- If the storm starts while you are preparing to extract, check whether a Storm Hut is reachable without taking a more dangerous route or giving up the extraction opportunity.
- Use the map to look for a hut; its presence, safety, and distance are not guaranteed. The fact that Storm Huts appear on the map does not mean there will be one close to your position or on the route to the gondola.
- Do not assume that shelter is worth a detour in every situation. Weigh the route and timing against the risk of remaining exposed to the storm. A hut can offer shelter and loot, but stopping for loot after you already have what you need may prolong the run and add another exposed movement.
- If a hut is not on a reasonable route, do not treat it as a required step. The reported guidance gives no universal storm timer or safe duration outdoors, so avoid planning around a precise number of seconds before damage begins.
The safest decision depends on where you are when Flash Freeze begins and how close you are to the gondola. If you can reach a hut without making the route worse, shelter may help while you reassess. If doing so would pull you away from an imminent extraction or add a risky crossing, the hut may not be the better choice. The reported observations explain the options, but they cannot guarantee a hut will be available, unoccupied, or safe.
Secure quest items before taking more risks
If you are completing Clean Hands, PC Gamer’s walkthrough identifies the Equatorial Sundial as the item to protect and advises putting it in the Safe Pocket. The walkthrough says extracting with the Sundial completes the final step. It also says that a player who has not yet extracted on Pendola Pass must activate a gondola console and go to the gondola’s drop location.
For that objective, secure the Sundial in the Safe Pocket before pursuing additional loot. This is specific guidance for the Clean Hands item; do not assume every quest item or every Safe Pocket configuration follows the same rules. Check the game’s current item and quest instructions if your objective differs. The practical order is simple: once you have the Sundial, protect it according to the walkthrough, then prioritize the extraction steps over optional looting. The item is only useful for the stated final step if you extract with it, so adding another search after finding it creates risk without changing the described requirement.

If you have not yet extracted on Pendola Pass for this quest, the walkthrough’s requirement is not satisfied by merely carrying the Sundial to a transceiver. You need to activate a gondola console and go to the gondola’s drop location. Follow the incoming marker and green smoke to that landing point. The instructions do not say that any different exit or a return to the console completes the step, which is another reason to follow the gondola sequence rather than improvise a route out.
Check live conditions before deploying
Pendola Pass conditions can include ARC Frigate, Night Raid, and Redirection. The official ARC Raiders conditions page is live, time-sensitive, and region-selectable, so check the conditions for your region before deploying instead of relying on a static schedule. Conditions can change, and a page viewed at a different time or for a different region may not reflect your run.
