To evolve an Aniimo, open Aniimo Management, select the creature, open its Attributes screen, and choose Evolve. The game then shows the available branch and that branch’s requirements. A level threshold may be only one condition: some branches can also require defeating an Alpha or Omega, visiting a particular location, meeting a time or weather condition, having a particular personality, or supplying an item.
“Upgrade” can also mean leveling, Capability Awakening, Resonance, or equipment. Those systems improve a build in different ways and should not be treated as interchangeable with evolution. Because requirements are branch-specific and can change between game versions, use the live evolution panel as the authority for the exact target, item, quantity, and cost.
What evolution changes
Evolution is the progression action that changes an Aniimo’s form. The available evolution guide also describes possible changes to stats and, in some cases, the creature’s role. That makes evolution different from simply adding experience: you are selecting a form or branch with its own conditions and gameplay identity.
The branch shown in the Attributes screen determines what you must do. There is no dependable, universal level chart that applies to every species and every branch. A level shown in one guide or for one creature should not be copied to another Aniimo without checking the target branch in your current client. The Aniimo evolution guide is useful for understanding the menu flow, but the in-game panel is the place to verify a live requirement.

How to evolve an Aniimo
- Open Aniimo Management. Use the game’s management menu rather than a battle or inventory shortcut.
- Select the Aniimo you want to change. Confirm that you have highlighted the intended creature before opening its details.
- Open the Attributes screen. The training guide places progression controls, including Level Up, on this screen.
- Choose Evolve. The game presents the available branch or branches and lists the conditions for the selected target.
- Read every requirement in the branch panel. Check the required level, any Alpha or Omega victory, location, time, weather, personality, and item conditions. A level requirement does not imply that the other conditions are optional.
- Complete missing conditions and return to the same panel. Use the panel to confirm that a condition has registered; do not rely on memory or a list made for a different version.
- Confirm the branch only after reviewing the result. Evolution can alter form, statistics, and sometimes role, so make sure the displayed target matches the build you intend to use.
If the Evolve control is not where expected, return to the creature’s Attributes screen. The documented path is Aniimo Management → select Aniimo → Attributes → Evolve. Other screens may expose training or equipment controls but not the evolution action.
Evolution requirements are branch-specific
Branches can use different combinations of conditions. The categories below are the ones identified by the available guide material; they are examples of requirement types, not a complete species-by-species chart.

Level requirements
Level is the easiest condition to recognize, but it is not a universal evolution rule. One species may unlock a branch at one level while another branch uses a different threshold or combines a threshold with a challenge. Treat the displayed level as a gate for that specific target, not as a rule for all Aniimo.

A branch may require defeating an Alpha or Omega rather than merely reaching a level. The wording in the panel should identify the relevant encounter. If the evolution remains unavailable after you meet the level, look for this battle condition before changing your training plan.
Location, time, and weather
Contextual requirements are easy to miss because they are not permanent statistics on the creature. A branch can depend on where you are, the current time, the weather, or a combination. Read the wording literally and perform the evolution check while that context is active. If the panel continues to show the condition, verify that you are at the exact location and that the game has registered the current time or weather state.
Personality conditions
Personality can be part of a branch requirement. Check the personality displayed for the Aniimo you selected; do not assume that two creatures of the same species qualify for the same branch. If the condition is not met, the panel should remain the most reliable place to see that status.

Item conditions
An evolution item can be one of the requirements, but the available evidence does not establish a trustworthy, exhaustive list of item names and quantities for every branch. Use the item name and amount displayed in your current game client. Avoid spending an item based on a third-party table unless the live panel confirms that it is the correct material for your target.
Why there is no single evolution level chart
A single chart is misleading when branches use different gates. The evolution guide describes requirements that vary by branch, while the progression guide presents evolution alongside several other systems rather than as one linear level ladder. A chart copied from an earlier patch can also become inaccurate if a developer changes a requirement or item.
For that reason, record requirements by target branch, not only by species. When planning several Aniimo, capture the exact text shown for each target, including any encounter name, location, weather, personality, item, and quantity. This prevents a common mistake: reaching a remembered level and concluding that the game is bugged when the branch still needs a contextual condition.
What “upgrade” means in Aniimo
Players often use “upgrade” as a general word for making a companion stronger. In Aniimo, the progression guide separates evolution from Level Up, Capability Awakening, Resonance, and equipment. Each system addresses a different part of a build.

Level Up
Leveling is the straightforward training route. Use the Level Up control on the Attributes screen when your goal is to raise the creature’s level rather than change its form. Leveling may be necessary for an evolution branch, but it does not automatically select or complete an evolution.

Capability Awakening is listed separately from evolution in the progression material. It should therefore be treated as an additional investment system, not as a hidden evolution stage. Because the available guide material does not establish a complete, versioned cost table or cap, inspect the control in the live client before committing resources.

Resonance
Resonance is another progression track. The training guide discusses Resonance progression alongside levels, potential, and Held Items, while the broader progression guide treats it as distinct from evolution. Use Resonance controls when you are trying to develop that track; opening Evolve will not perform the same action.
Equipment and Held Items
Equipment changes how a companion is configured without changing its evolutionary form. An item can appear in two different contexts: as something equipped for a build, or as a one-time requirement listed by an evolution branch. Read the label and quantity in the relevant screen so you do not consume or equip the wrong item.
Potential Awakening
A community Pathfinder guide refers to Potential Awakening as an upgrade to innate potential. That description is lower-confidence community information, not a complete official specification. If your client includes the system, use its own labels, costs, and limits; do not rely on an unverified cap or assume that every Aniimo has the same unlock path.
A practical upgrade plan
Use the following order when building a companion for a particular role or branch.
- Choose the intended form first. Open Evolve and inspect the available target branch before spending training resources. The branch can affect form, stats, and sometimes role.
- Write down the displayed conditions. Capture the level, encounter, location, time, weather, personality, and item requirements exactly as shown.
- Separate permanent progress from temporary conditions. Level and personality are properties of the Aniimo, while location, time, and weather must be present when you perform the check.
- Complete the least reversible-looking work carefully. Train toward the required level and prepare for any named Alpha or Omega encounter, but do not spend an item until the branch panel confirms the target.
- Recheck the branch after each milestone. Return to Attributes → Evolve to see which conditions have registered. This catches changes caused by a patch or by selecting a different Aniimo.
- Use other systems after the branch plan is clear. Apply Level Up, Capability Awakening, Resonance, or equipment investments according to the role you want the selected form to fill.
Troubleshooting: why an Aniimo will not evolve
The Evolve option is missing
First verify the menu path: Aniimo Management, selected creature, Attributes, then Evolve. If you are viewing a training, Resonance, or equipment panel, you may be in the wrong subsection. If the control is still absent, check whether you selected the intended creature and whether the current client has loaded its branch information. The available guides do not establish a universal rule for when the control appears, so do not infer an unlock level from another species.
The level is high enough, but the branch is still locked
Read the remaining lines in the branch panel. A level gate can sit alongside an Alpha or Omega defeat, a location, time, weather, personality, or item requirement. Complete the missing condition and return to the same panel to confirm registration.

The game still rejects a location, time, or weather condition
Perform the check while the stated context is active. Move to the exact location named by the panel, wait for the required time window, and confirm that the weather displayed by the game matches the requirement. If the condition remains, leave and re-enter the area or reopen the Attributes screen so the client can refresh the status; this is a practical refresh step, not a substitute for the exact condition.
An Alpha or Omega requirement is not recognized
Check the wording for the specific encounter. Defeating an unrelated elite creature may not satisfy a branch that names a particular Alpha or Omega. Return to the evolution panel after the victory and verify that the requirement has changed.
The item seems correct but evolution is unavailable
Compare the item name and quantity character-for-character with the branch panel. Similar names, different tiers, or an item equipped on another companion may not satisfy the requirement. Do not rely on an old shopping list; the available guides do not provide a complete, current item table for every branch.
The personality requirement fails
Confirm the personality of the selected Aniimo, not another copy of the species. If the requirement is still shown, the branch expects a different personality or the client has not registered the current value. Use the game’s displayed status as the authority rather than guessing from appearance or role.
A guide’s level or cost does not match the client
Third-party pages can describe an earlier version or a different branch. The evolution guide, progression guide, and training guide are useful orientation, but none supplies a complete, versioned species-by-species cost table. When a guide conflicts with the live panel, follow the current client and note the version for your own records.
How to verify requirements without wasting resources
Before farming materials or attempting a difficult encounter, open the target branch and make a short checklist. Include the exact level, named opponent, place, time, weather, personality, item, and quantity. Mark each item only after the game displays it as complete. This avoids spending a rare item on a branch you did not intend to select.

Keep separate notes for each branch. Two targets for the same species can have different conditions, and an update can change a requirement without changing the creature’s name. A screenshot of the Attributes → Evolve panel, together with the game version, is more reliable than a generic list copied from a forum.
What current guides can and cannot confirm
The evolution guide establishes the basic menu path and the idea that branches use different requirements. The progression guide distinguishes evolution from Level Up, Capability Awakening, Resonance, and equipment. The training guide places Level Up on the Attributes screen and discusses Resonance, potential, and Held Items as separate training topics.
A community post, New Pathfinder guide, is useful only as a pointer to terminology such as Potential Awakening. Community material should not be used to establish a universal cap, exact cost, or mandatory requirement unless the current game client confirms it.

Evolution starts in Aniimo Management: select the creature, open Attributes, and choose Evolve. Follow the requirements shown for that specific branch, because level alone may not be enough. Use Level Up, Capability Awakening, Resonance, and equipment as separate upgrade systems, and let the live client—not a universal chart—decide the current item, cost, and unlock details.
