To equip a glider you already own, open Fortnite’s lobby, go to Locker, select the glider, then choose Back. To switch to a different version of that glider, select it and choose Edit to view styles available to your account.
Equip a different glider from your Locker
- Open the Matchmaking Lobby. The Locker is available from the top menu bar there.
- Open Locker. Find the glider cosmetic you want to use.
- Select the glider. Choose the item you want equipped.
- Choose Back. This confirms your selection and returns you from the item view. The button label or control can vary by platform, so use the on-screen equivalent.
Epic Games Player Support’s general Locker instructions follow this same sequence: launch Fortnite, open Locker from the lobby, select the desired item, and go back. You do not need to buy anything to equip a glider that is already in your Locker.

Change a glider’s style instead of changing the glider
Equipping another glider and choosing another style are different actions. If you want a variation of the glider you have selected, select that item and choose Edit, shown in the bottom-right area. The available styles appear there, including styles included in a pack. Only styles available to your account will be listed; an unavailable or unearned style will not appear as an option.

Open Locker from a Changing Booth
Locker is also accessible in-game through a Changing Booth, according to Epic’s Locker documentation. This is an alternate way to reach your cosmetics while in an experience. The lobby route remains the direct option when you are starting from the Matchmaking Lobby.

Where gliders are supported
Cosmetic compatibility depends on the Fortnite experience. Epic’s compatibility guidance lists gliders as supported in Battle Royale and Developer-Made experiences, but not in the experiences shown below.

These are experience-level compatibility notes, not a guarantee that every individual island permits every cosmetic. Island age-rating restrictions can also apply: Epic says a small portion of outfits and accessories cannot be equipped in islands below certain rating thresholds. Affected items are identified with an icon in Locker and the Item Shop.

If your glider will not equip
Check the outfit combination
Some gliders and other cosmetics are compatible only with specific outfits because of design or licensing restrictions. Try a compatible outfit if Fortnite prevents the combination. Epic’s guidance does not describe a supported way to override these restrictions.
Check the experience or island
If the glider is selectable in Locker but does not work where you are playing, check whether that experience supports gliders. In an island, also look for the restriction icon in Locker; its age-rating threshold may prevent the cosmetic from being equipped there.

Check ownership and style availability
Confirm that the glider is in your Locker. Fortnite content may be earned, purchased, or redeemed with credits. If you own the glider but are looking for a particular variation, open Edit and check the styles actually available to your account.
Do not assume an unowned glider is currently for sale
Some add-ons and packs can rotate or expire. The Item Shop’s live inventory determines what is currently available, so an old listing or mention of a glider does not establish that you can obtain it now.

Platform controls and what to expect
Epic’s general Locker instructions do not specify controller buttons or device-specific controls. The navigation path is Lobby → Locker → select glider → Back; follow the labels or prompts displayed on your platform rather than relying on a button mapping for another device.
