Stop the dedicated server, open its Game.ini, add bServerAllowReplayRecording=true under [/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession], save the file, and restart the server. This grants players permission to create their own replay recordings; it does not automatically record the entire server.
What the server setting actually does
Path of Titans has two related but different replay features. The first is player-initiated recording. A player starts and stops a replay from the game client, while the server setting determines whether that recording is allowed. The second is dedicated-server automatic recording, which is configured separately and is controlled by the server administrator.
The bServerAllowReplayRecording option is documented with a default value of false. Changing it to true under the correct Unreal configuration section enables the player replay feature for that server. The change is not live while the server is running: stop the server before editing and restart it after saving.
What you need before editing
- Administrative access to the dedicated server’s files or its hosting control panel.
- Permission to stop and start the server.
- Access to the server’s
Game.iniin its configuration directory. The exact folder name and path vary by operating system and hosting provider. - A text editor that saves plain-text INI files without adding formatting.
Back up Game.ini before changing it. If a hosting panel generates configuration files automatically, make the change through the panel’s supported file editor or confirm that it will preserve manual edits after a restart.

Enable player replay recording in Game.ini
- Stop the server. Use the hosting panel’s stop control or the server’s normal shutdown procedure. Do not edit the live file while the process is still writing configuration data.
- Open
Game.ini. Find the file in the server configuration directory. The precise OS location is not fixed by the game documentation, so use your provider’s configuration-file browser if you are renting a managed server. - Find or create the exact section header. The header must be spelled and punctuated exactly as follows:
[/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession] - Add the permission on its own line.
bServerAllowReplayRecording=trueIf the section already contains other settings, place this entry on a new line beneath the header. Do not put it under a different Path of Titans section.
- Save the file as plain text. Keep the
.iniextension and avoid smart quotes, extra punctuation, or a second copy of the section header created by a formatting tool. - Restart the server. The setting is read during startup. Players who were connected before the restart may need to reconnect after it comes back online.
- Test with a player client. Have a PC or console player join, start a replay, and stop it again using the controls described below. A successful test confirms both the server permission and the client’s replay support.
How players start and stop a replay
Once the server permits recording, the player controls the recording from the client. The official support instructions provide chat commands:

/demorecstarts a replay recording when entered in chat and sent./demostopstops the current recording.
On PC, the default replay-recording toggle is U. A player can use that key instead of typing the commands. On consoles, the replay toggle can be assigned in Settings > Controls; the exact button depends on the player’s chosen mapping.
Enabling the server option does not press the record button for anyone. Players still have to initiate a recording, and they decide when to stop it. If a player never starts one, changing the permission alone produces no player replay.

Platform availability
The replay tool is documented for PC and consoles. The hosting guidance states that it is not released on iOS or Android. Therefore, a mobile player cannot use the client replay tool merely because the server-side permission is enabled. This is a client-platform limitation, not evidence that the INI edit failed.
What a player replay captures
A replay is an in-game recording that can be viewed inside Path of Titans; it is not a rendered video file. The official FAQ explains that other software can be used to capture video footage while viewing the replay and then export that footage as a normal video.

It is therefore a local-scope view rather than guaranteed, map-wide surveillance. Events outside that recording player’s relevant render distance may not appear.
For moderation, a replay can provide context around an incident such as an alleged unfair kill or rule violation. The documented replay information can include visible nametags, growth stages, grouped players, and related gameplay state. Treat those details as evidence from the recorder’s viewpoint, not as a promise that every server event or every player on the map is present.

Dedicated-server automatic recording is a separate feature
If the goal is continuous or administrator-controlled recording by the dedicated server itself, do not substitute the player-permission key. The hosting guide documents a second configuration entry under a different section:

bHandleDedicatedServerReplays=TrueThis option concerns automatic recording by the dedicated server. It is separate from allowing players to start their own client recordings, so a server can be configured for one feature without assuming the other is enabled.

The command takes effect after the server is rebooted. Plan a restart after changing the automatic-recording setting or issuing the administrative toggle. Keep the two configuration sections distinct; placing the automatic-recording entry under [/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession] will not turn it into the player permission.

Verify the change with a controlled test
- Confirm the server is running the configuration file you edited, especially if the host exposes multiple instances or worlds.
- Join from a supported PC or console client.
- Start a short recording with
/demorecor the configured replay key. - Perform a simple, visible action near another player so there is something recognizable in the capture.
- Stop with
/demostopor the replay toggle. - Open the replay in the game client. Remember that the replay itself is not a video; use a separate video-capture application only if you need an uploadable movie.
This test checks the permission path without implying that a replay contains activity across the whole map. If the test player is on mobile, use a supported PC or console client instead; mobile availability is the limiting factor in that case.

The player still cannot start a replay
- Check the section header. The permission belongs under
[/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession]. A correct key under another section is not equivalent. - Check the spelling and value. Use
bServerAllowReplayRecording=true, with no quotation marks or surrounding punctuation. - Confirm the restart. Saving an INI file while the server is running does not apply the change until the server has been restarted.
- Confirm that the edited file is authoritative. Some control panels maintain separate per-instance configuration files or regenerate
Game.ini. Reopen the file after startup to see whether the entry remains. - Test the client platform. The documented replay tool is available on PC and consoles, not iOS or Android.
The key appears correct but disappears after a restart
That usually indicates that the host’s configuration manager rewrites the file. Stop the server, use the provider’s built-in INI editor if one exists, save the setting there, and restart. If the provider does not permit persistent Game.ini changes, the host must expose that capability before this feature can be enabled reliably.
The automatic command does not produce automatic recordings
- Make sure you are using the administrator-only command, not the player command
/demorec. - Use
/ServerAutoRecord 1to enable or/ServerAutoRecord 0to disable. - Reboot the server after changing the automatic-recording state.
- Check that the dedicated-server setting is under its own
BP_GameMode_Sandboxsection and has not been placed under the player-permission section.
The replay does not show an incident
First check whether the incident occurred within the recording player’s render distance. The documented player replay is a local-scope capture, so it is not guaranteed to include distant players or events elsewhere on the map. Also verify that recording had actually started before the incident and had not already been stopped.
The replay opens but there is no video file
That is expected. A Path of Titans replay is viewed in the game rather than delivered as a conventional video. To publish footage, view the replay and record the playback with separate video-capture software.

Moderation workflow for community servers
For a server that handles player reports, publish a simple evidence procedure: tell players which command or key starts recording, ask them to stop promptly after the relevant event, and have them provide the replay through the server’s normal reporting channel. Remind them that the capture represents the recorder’s viewpoint and nearby render-distance activity.

Administrators who need recordings without relying on a reporting player should evaluate the separate dedicated-server automatic-recording option instead. That choice changes who controls capture and requires its own configuration and reboot; it should not be described to players as the same feature as permission to record.
Hosting and maintenance considerations
A suitable community-server host for this feature must allow all of the following:
- Editing or persistently overriding
Game.ini. - Stopping the server before configuration changes.
- Restarting or rebooting the server on demand.
- Preserving the exact section headers and Boolean values after a restart.
- If required, setting the dedicated-server replay option and issuing administrator commands.
No special keyboard, storage subscription, capture card, or separate replay application is required to enable the server permission. The documented task is an INI configuration change plus a server restart. Additional video software is only relevant when someone wants to turn an in-game replay into a shareable video.
