On a PS5 Pro, check Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output and enable Enhance PSSR Image Quality for supported PS5 games. PlayStation says it is on by default and applies only to certain PSSR-compatible titles; game-specific Pro enhancements and options vary. The separate PS4 image-quality setting is for PS4 games and has its own display requirement.
Turn on or check the PSSR image-quality setting
- From the PS5 home screen, open Settings.
- Choose Screen and Video, then Video Output.
- Check Enhance PSSR Image Quality. PlayStation says this setting is on by default. It is available only on consoles in the CFI-7000 model group, which includes PS5 Pro. See PlayStation’s PSSR image-quality support page.
- Start a game that supports PSSR and check its own graphics options. PlayStation says the setting’s results vary by title. If you see unwanted visual effects, turn it off; Sony included that guidance with the March 16, 2026 upgraded PSSR update announcement.
Know which enhancement you are changing
“PS5 Pro Enhanced” is a game-level label, not a single console toggle that activates every improvement. A game may offer its own graphics modes or options, and the details differ between titles. Enhance PSSR Image Quality is the system-level option for certain compatible PS5 games. Enhance Image Quality for PS4 Games is a different compatibility feature for PS4 games.

For title-specific options, open that game’s settings menu and consult its current support notes. Do not assume a particular resolution, frame rate, or visual gain: official sources describe variation between games but do not provide a standardized performance comparison across the catalog.

Use the separate image-quality option for PS4 games
- Go to Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output.
- Select Enhance Image Quality for PS4 Games.
- Use it only with a display that supports 2160p or 1440p output at 60 Hz. This option applies to PS4 games on CFI-7000 model-group consoles. If gameplay behaves unexpectedly, PlayStation advises turning it off. Details are on PlayStation’s image-quality support page.
Find games with PS5 Pro enhancements
In PlayStation Store, open Collections > PS5 Pro Enhanced, or search for “PS5 Pro.” The Store catalog can change, so check it when choosing a game. A game marked PS5 Pro Enhanced does not necessarily use the PSSR setting in the same way as another title.

Titles listed for Enhanced PSSR
PlayStation’s PS5 Pro page listed the following under “Supported titles with Enhanced PSSR” when checked on October 9, 2026: Resident Evil Requiem; SILENT HILL f; SILENT HILL 2; Final Fantasy VII Rebirth; Alan Wake 2; Control; Monster Hunter Wilds; Dragon’s Dogma 2; Dragon Age: The Veilguard; Nioh 3; Rise of the Ronin; Crimson Desert; Assassin’s Creed Shadows; and Cyberpunk 2077. PlayStation cautions that results vary by title, and the list may change. See the current PS5 Pro page for the latest list.

Sony’s March 16, 2026 announcement said an upgraded PSSR software update began rolling out in phases that day. It also said players could manually check for and install the system update through PS5 settings. Remedy Graphics Technical Director Tatu Aalto said the upgrade improves upscaling quality and stability; Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Director Naoki Hamaguchi described more natural restoration of fine detail and less flickering and afterimage effects. These are developer descriptions, not a promise of a specific improvement or frame rate for every game.
