Request your Bumble data before you delete your profile. The quickest route identified by Bumble Support is chat support: tell the agent you want to “Request data.” Bumble says it aims to provide the data within one calendar month, although a shorter legal deadline may apply where you live. Wait for the request to be confirmed and the data to arrive, then save what you need. Only after that should you delete the profile, canceling any eligible subscription separately.
Use this order: request, receive, save, then delete
Deleting your profile first can make the process harder to manage. Bumble’s published instructions put the data request before account deletion because the two actions have different timelines and purposes. A practical sequence is:
- Submit a data request while you can still sign in. Contact Bumble through chat support and state that you want to “Request data.” Bumble also describes this as a Subject Access Request.
- Wait for confirmation and delivery. Bumble’s general aim is to provide requested data within one calendar month; the applicable period can be shorter depending on your location.
- Download or otherwise save the material Bumble provides. Keep a copy in a location you control before you close the account.
- Check subscriptions. Bumble says Boost, Premium, and Premium+ subscriptions may not cancel automatically when you delete a profile, so cancel an eligible subscription first.
- Delete the profile in the app if you are ready to leave. Use the in-app Delete account control rather than removing only the app from your phone.
This order separates two decisions: getting a copy of your information and making the profile unavailable. It also gives you time to check that the response arrived before starting the deletion window.

1. Open Bumble’s chat support
Use Bumble Support’s chat channel while you can access the account. Bumble’s current guidance says the fastest way to request data is to contact support through chat and explicitly state that you would like to “Request data.” Using that wording helps route the conversation to the data-request process instead of a general account question.

2. State exactly what you want
Write a direct request such as: I would like to Request data for my Bumble account. Please tell me what information you need to process my Subject Access Request.
Do not describe the request merely as “close my account” or “send my messages”; those are different actions. If you need a particular category of information, mention it in the same conversation, but do not assume that asking for one item automatically requests every record.
3. Complete any identity or account checks
Support may ask for information needed to locate and protect the account. Reply through the support conversation and retain the confirmation that your request was accepted. The date of confirmation is useful when you are tracking the one-calendar-month aim.
4. Allow the stated processing time
Bumble says it aims to provide the data within one calendar month. That is a service timeline, not a guaranteed instant download or a promise that every request arrives on the same day. Bumble also notes that a shorter timeframe may apply in some locations, and that most users receive their data sooner once the request is confirmed. Plan around the full stated period if you have a firm departure date.
5. Follow the delivery instructions
When Bumble replies, use the access or download instructions in that response and save the resulting material securely. The available format and delivery method are not specified in the cited support guidance, so follow the current instructions you receive rather than expecting a particular file type. Keep the original response until you have opened the supplied material and verified that it is readable.
What to do if you need a conversation with a match
A request for a conversation does not give one person both sides of the exchange. Bumble states that each participant must submit their own request to receive their side of a match conversation. If you need a complete record, ask the other participant to make a separate request for their side.

- Your request: returns the side of the conversation associated with your account, subject to Bumble’s response and applicable rules.
- The other participant’s request: is required for that person’s side.
- One request is not a shared transcript: you cannot rely on your own request to obtain both participants’ messages.
If preserving a conversation matters, make both requests before either account is deleted. Coordinate the timing with the other participant because each person’s request has its own processing path.
How to save and verify the data you receive
Save an untouched copy first
Store the delivered files or records in a private location before sorting them. Use a folder with a clear name and the date you received the response. If the material arrives through a temporary access link, download it promptly and retain the support confirmation that identifies the request.
Check that the response is usable
- Open the files or pages to confirm they are not corrupted or empty.
- Check that the account identifiers and date range correspond to the Bumble account you requested.
- If you requested conversation information, confirm which side is represented; do not assume the other person’s messages are included.
- Make a note of anything you expected but cannot find, so you can ask support a focused follow-up question while the request is still open.
Protect the copy
Your data copy may contain personal and conversational information. Keep it in a private, access-controlled location and avoid sending it through public or shared channels. If another person helped you preserve a conversation, agree on how each of you will store and delete your copy.
Cancel Boost, Premium, or Premium+ before deleting
Bumble says eligible subscriptions may not cancel automatically when you delete your profile. Before confirming deletion, review whether you have Bumble Boost, Premium, or Premium+. If one is active, cancel it using the subscription-management route associated with your purchase, then retain the cancellation confirmation.
Deleting the profile and stopping a recurring subscription are separate tasks. A successful profile deletion is not proof that billing has stopped, so complete the subscription step first and check the renewal status shown by the billing service.

Delete your Bumble profile in the app
After your data request has been delivered and any subscription has been handled, delete the profile from Bumble’s settings:

- Tap the gear icon to open Settings.
- Scroll to Delete account.
- Choose a reason when Bumble asks.
- Confirm the deletion.
Bumble explicitly says that deleting the app from your phone or being inactive for a long period does not automatically delete your profile. Uninstalling the app only removes the app from that device; it is not the account-deletion command.
Understand what “deleted” means on Bumble
Profile deletion removes the profile from public view, but it is not the same as instant, irreversible erasure of every record. Bumble says a deleted profile may be restored for up to 28 days by contacting Support. After that period, the profile is no longer recoverable and the erasure process begins.
That restoration window matters when you are deciding whether ordinary deletion is sufficient. If you might want to return within 28 days, keep the support route available. If you are certain that you do not want the restoration window, Bumble describes a separate Data Erasure Request.
Ordinary deletion or a Data Erasure Request?

Choose ordinary deletion if removing the profile from public view and retaining a short restoration option meet your needs. Choose the separate Data Erasure Request when you specifically want to skip that 28-day restoration period and accept the stated processing time and exceptions. Neither option should be described as an instant removal of every record.

How to request erasure instead of waiting for restoration
Bumble’s deletion guidance describes a separate Data Erasure Request for people who do not want the 28-day restoration period. Contact Bumble Support and ask for that process explicitly. Keep the confirmation and allow up to 30 days for processing.
The request does not create an unlimited right to remove every item immediately. Bumble says it may retain basic account data to enforce a block and may keep information where legal or regulatory obligations require it. Those exceptions are why “profile deleted,” “erasure requested,” and “every record removed” should not be treated as interchangeable statements.
Timing checklist before you close the account
- Before the request: make sure you can access the Bumble account and the support chat.
- At submission: use the phrase “Request data” and ask for Subject Access Request instructions if needed.
- After confirmation: record the confirmation date and plan for up to one calendar month, unless your location provides a shorter period.
- When the response arrives: open the supplied material, check that it is readable, and save a private copy.
- Before deletion: cancel Boost, Premium, or Premium+ if applicable and keep proof of cancellation.
- During deletion: use Profile icon → gear icon → Settings → Delete account, choose a reason, and confirm.
- After deletion: remember that Support may be able to restore the profile for up to 28 days unless you use the separate erasure route.
Troubleshooting common mistakes
You deleted the app but the profile is still visible
Reinstalling or reopening the app is not the deletion process. Bumble says inactivity and app removal do not automatically delete a profile. Sign in, open Settings, use Delete account, and complete the confirmation steps.
You deleted the profile before requesting data
Contact Bumble Support as soon as possible and explain that you need a Request data or Subject Access Request. Ordinary deletion can leave a restoration option for up to 28 days, but you should not assume that the data-request window or eventual availability is guaranteed after deletion. If the profile has already passed the restoration period, ask Support what request route remains available.

Check the confirmation date and allow the stated one-calendar-month aim. A shorter deadline may apply in your location, but Bumble does not promise an instant response. If the full applicable period has passed, return to the existing support conversation with your request date and confirmation rather than opening an unrelated account-deletion request.

The response does not show both sides of a match conversation
That is expected under Bumble’s stated process: each person must request their own side. Ask the other participant to submit a separate request if you need both sides.
You are unsure whether billing stopped
Profile deletion and subscription cancellation are separate. Review the subscription status in the billing service used for the purchase and retain the cancellation confirmation. If the subscription still appears active, contact the relevant billing support channel before assuming that deletion ended renewal.
You want irreversible removal immediately
Ordinary deletion includes a restoration period of up to 28 days. Ask Bumble Support about a Data Erasure Request if you want to skip that period, and allow up to 30 days for processing. The stated exceptions for block enforcement and legal or regulatory retention still apply.
What the official guidance establishes
Bumble Support’s “Requesting your data” guidance, last updated June 2, 2026, identifies chat support and the phrase “Request data” as the fastest route and states the one-calendar-month aim. Its deletion guidance, last updated August 27, 2026, distinguishes ordinary deletion from a Data Erasure Request and describes the 28-day restoration period, the up-to-30-day erasure timeline, and retention exceptions. Bumble’s account-deletion guidance, last updated September 10, 2026, provides the in-app path and warns that deleting the app or remaining inactive does not delete the profile; it also advises handling subscriptions separately.
A concise decision rule
If you want a copy of your Bumble information, submit “Request data” through chat support first and wait for the response. Save and verify it, cancel any Boost, Premium, or Premium+ subscription, then delete the profile in Settings. Use a Data Erasure Request only when you want to skip the 28-day restoration window, understanding that Bumble states up to 30 days of processing and specific retention exceptions.
