If you are searching for Cisco AnyConnect for Windows 11, download Cisco Secure Client instead. Cisco renamed AnyConnect, although the VPN component is still called the Cisco AnyConnect VPN core in Cisco documentation.
The current recommended release is Cisco Secure Client 5.1.19.1862, released July 31, 2026. Cisco says future 5.x defect fixes will be delivered through the 5.1.x release path.
Before downloading: choose the correct Windows package
Cisco’s current download table does not provide separate “32-bit” and “64-bit” AnyConnect buttons. It distinguishes between standard Windows and Windows ARM64 packages.

To check the architecture, open Settings → System → About and check System type. An ARM-based computer will identify itself as an ARM64-based processor. Use the package containing win-arm64 on that device. Do not treat the standard Windows package as an equivalent ARM64 installer.

A “Windows 11 32-bit AnyConnect installer” is not identified as a current Cisco Secure Client package in Cisco’s release documentation.
Download Cisco Secure Client from Cisco
- Open the Cisco Secure Client 5.1 release notes or the Cisco Secure Client product support page.
- Sign in to your Cisco.com account.
- Click Download Software.
- Expand Latest Releases. If the current release is not selected, select it.
- Find the Windows package matching your computer: standard Windows or Windows ARM64.
- Click Download.
- Accept the Cisco license agreement.
- Choose a local download directory and click Save.
The web-deployment package is typically used when the VPN headend—such as an ASA or another Cisco-managed service—deploys the client through a browser or VPN connection. The predeployment ZIP is intended for administrators who want to distribute and install the client themselves.
Download several Cisco Secure Client packages
If you need the VPN module plus other modules, such as Network Visibility or Umbrella Roaming Security, download them together:
- On the Download Software page, click Add to cart in each required package row.
- Click Download Cart at the top of the page.
- Accept the license agreement.
- Select a local directory.
- Click Save.
Only download modules your organization’s license and deployment policy support. A typical VPN-only installation does not require every available Secure Client module.
If you need a particular version
For an older or specific Cisco Secure Client version, use the Cisco downloads site and search for the required release. Cisco directs users who need a particular AnyConnect or Secure Client version to that site.
Do not select an old AnyConnect 4.x installer simply because a search result calls it the “latest AnyConnect” version. Cisco ended software maintenance for AnyConnect 4.x on March 31, 2024. It no longer receives patches or maintenance releases. Customers with an eligible AnyConnect or Secure Client license and active support entitlement can generally upgrade to the current Secure Client release at no additional charge.

Umbrella customers: use the Dashboard download
Cisco Umbrella customers may obtain the client from the Umbrella Dashboard rather than the general Cisco download page:
- Sign in to the Umbrella Dashboard.
- Open Deployments → Roaming Computers.
- Click the Download icon for Roaming Client.
- Select the Cisco Secure Client version and operating system.
- Choose either Pre-Deployment Package or Headend Deployment Package.
Cisco recommends the Pre-Deployment Package for standalone, network, and mass deployment. The Headend Deployment Package is intended for Cisco VPN customers deploying centrally from the VPN headend.
Umbrella customers are licensed to download Cisco Secure Client through common packages such as DNS Security Essentials, DNS Security Advantage, SIG Security Essentials, and SIG Security Advantage. If your account does not show the download, your organization may need Secure Client licensing for the Umbrella Roaming Security Module.
“You do not have access” on the Cisco site
An older Cisco account may not be associated automatically with your Umbrella subscription. Cisco’s documented account-association process is:
- Go to id.cisco.com.
- Open Access Management.
- Choose Add Access.
- Enter your organization’s contract number and complete the association process.
If the contract is not available, contact your Cisco account administrator or account manager. Download access depends on your organization’s licensing and support entitlement; creating a Cisco.com account alone does not guarantee access to every package.

Standard Windows 11
Cisco lists current Microsoft-supported Windows 11 and Windows 10 versions as supporting the VPN and several Secure Client modules, including Network Access Manager, Secure Firewall Posture, ISE Posture, DART, Network Visibility Module, Umbrella Roaming Security, ThousandEyes Endpoint Agent, Zero Trust Access Module, and Customer Experience Feedback. AMP Enabler is listed as unsupported in Cisco’s current table.

Windows 11 ARM64
ARM64 support is more limited. Cisco lists these modules as supported on Windows 11 ARM64:
- VPN
- Secure Firewall Posture
- ISE Posture
- DART
- Customer Experience Feedback
- Network Visibility Module
- Umbrella Roaming Security
Cisco lists Network Access Manager, AMP Enabler, and ThousandEyes Endpoint Agent as unsupported for the Windows 11 ARM64 row. Confirm module compatibility before choosing an ARM64 Windows device for a managed deployment.
Windows 11 version 24H2 and later: enable Location Services
Cisco documents a Windows 11 24H2-and-later issue affecting Network Access Manager when location access is disabled. It can also cause uninstall or upgrade failures. Enable the required settings before installing, upgrading, or removing the relevant module:

- Open Settings.
- Go to Privacy & security → Location.
- Turn Location Services on.
- Turn Let desktop apps access your location on.
- Restart Windows.
Cisco notes that upgrades and uninstalls from versions before 5.1.8.x can still fail even after the later fixes are present.
Location access can also affect other components. Network Visibility Module may omit wireless SSID details, ISE Posture discovery may fail to find the ISE policy server, and ThousandEyes may receive less Wi-Fi signal and noise information.
Other problems to expect
Another VPN is already active
Cisco AnyConnect VPN cannot be active at the same time as another client VPN. This includes a third-party VPN and Cisco’s Secure Client for Universal Windows Platform. Disconnect or uninstall the competing VPN if the Cisco client cannot establish a tunnel.

DNS-over-HTTPS settings change during protection
On Windows 11 and later, Secure Client can apply the Windows policy named Configure DNS over HTTP (DoH) name resolution while VPN, Umbrella Roaming Security, Network Visibility, or Zero Trust Access is active. The policy is located at:

Cisco does not override a higher-precedence policy, such as a domain Group Policy Object, when that policy conflicts with the Secure Client setting. This matters on managed business computers where DNS behavior is controlled centrally.
The download page has no installer button
This usually indicates one of three issues: you are not signed in, your Cisco account lacks an eligible contract or license, or you are viewing a package that your organization has not purchased. Ask your Cisco administrator to verify the contract association and Secure Client entitlement rather than downloading an unofficial installer.
Do you need a command to download it?
No. Cisco’s documented download procedures use the Cisco website or Umbrella Dashboard. They do not require a Windows command or command-line syntax. Download the package through the authorized portal, then follow your organization’s installation or software-deployment process.

Is Cisco AnyConnect still available for Windows 11?
The current product is Cisco Secure Client. Its VPN component remains the Cisco AnyConnect VPN core, but Cisco no longer maintains AnyConnect 4.x. Use a current Cisco Secure Client 5.1.x package for a new Windows 11 deployment.

Which Cisco Secure Client download should I use on Windows 11?
Use the standard Windows package on a normal x86-64 Windows 11 PC. Use the package whose filename contains win-arm64 on a Windows 11 ARM64 computer. Cisco’s current package table does not separate downloads into 32-bit and 64-bit buttons.
Can I download Cisco AnyConnect free?
Cisco Secure Client is not generally a free consumer VPN application. Download access normally requires an eligible Cisco license, support contract, or entitlement through a service such as Cisco Umbrella. Your organization’s administrator may provide the installer.
Why can’t I see Cisco Secure Client in the Cisco download area?
Sign in to Cisco.com and check whether your account is associated with the organization’s contract. Umbrella customers can associate an older account at id.cisco.com through Access Management → Add Access, using the contract number. If access is still missing, contact the Cisco account administrator.

Yes, Cisco lists VPN support for Windows 11 ARM64, but not every module is supported. Network Access Manager, AMP Enabler, and ThousandEyes Endpoint Agent are listed as unsupported for ARM64.
Can Cisco AnyConnect and another VPN run together?
No. Cisco states that the AnyConnect VPN cannot be active simultaneously with another client VPN, including a third-party VPN or Cisco Secure Client for Universal Windows Platform.
The Bottom Line
For Windows 11, download Cisco Secure Client 5.1.x, not an obsolete AnyConnect 4.x installer. Use the standard Windows package for ordinary PCs and the win-arm64 package for ARM64 devices. Get it from Cisco’s Download Software page or, for eligible Umbrella customers, from Umbrella Dashboard → Deployments → Roaming Computers. If the download is unavailable, resolve the account and licensing entitlement rather than using an unofficial mirror.
