The Soulstonia demo is free on Steam for Windows and macOS. Open the official Soulstonia – Demo Steam listing, sign in to Steam, choose Install Demo, and then launch it from your Library. The developer says demo saves are intended to continue into Early Access on December 10, 2026, although demo-specific hours, achievements, and leaderboard records begin separately.
What the Soulstonia demo is
Soulstonia – Demo is a free, standalone Steam app released on October 7, 2026. It is currently listed for Windows and macOS, so you do not need to buy the game to try the demo. Steam distributes it as its own library entry rather than as a trial toggle inside another installation.
The demo is substantially larger than a short, time-limited preview. The developer describes all five regions as open for exploration and makes Act I playable, including more than 15 quests in the Grasslands. There is no playtime cap and no progression cap. You can gather materials, craft, fight, use Magic and Summoning, discover Soulstones, and unlock a second Summoner after Act I.
Each new save can produce a different world layout. Villages, roads, resources, enemies, non-player characters, landmarks, and points of interest can change between saves, so two playthroughs may not present the same route or discovery order.

What you need before installing
- A Steam account and the Steam desktop client.
- A Windows or macOS computer that meets at least the corresponding minimum requirements below.
- At least 500 MB of free storage on Windows or 1 GB on macOS, as stated on the official Steam listings.
- An internet connection long enough for Steam to download and install the demo files.
The demo is not a physical product, and no accessory, gift card, or separate launcher is required. Use the official Steam page rather than a third-party download site.
How to download and install Soulstonia Demo
- Install Steam. Download and open the official Steam client if it is not already installed, then sign in to the account that you intend to use for the demo.
- Open the game page. In a browser or in Steam, go to the Soulstonia – Demo listing. Confirm that the page identifies the product as the demo and shows Windows and macOS support.
- Choose Install Demo. Select the Install Demo control on the listing. Steam may ask which library drive or folder should receive the installation.
- Select a library location. Pick a Steam library with enough free space. The published requirement is 500 MB on Windows and 1 GB on macOS; allowing additional free space helps Steam complete its download and installation operations.
- Wait for the download to finish. Steam displays progress in its Downloads view. Keep the client open until the download and installation status indicate completion.
- Launch from Library. Open Library, select Soulstonia – Demo, and click Play. The first launch may take longer while the game creates its local files.
If Steam does not show an installation control, make sure you are signed in to the client rather than viewing only a logged-out browser page, and check that you opened the demo listing rather than a different Soulstonia entry.
Windows and macOS system requirements
The following specifications come from the official Steam listings for the demo. “Minimum” is the published baseline; “recommended” is the configuration Steam lists for a stronger experience. The listings do not provide a separate frame-rate target.

For Mac users, macOS 14.0 Sonoma is the stated minimum and recommended operating-system version. An Intel Mac must have a 64-bit Intel processor; an Apple-silicon Mac must meet the listed M1 or M2 class. If your Mac cannot run macOS 14, it does not meet the published requirement even if its processor is otherwise powerful enough.
Starting your first game
Choose a new save
After selecting Play, create a new save from the game’s opening menu. Because world layouts can differ between saves, note which save slot you are using if you plan to return to a particular village, road, resource location, or quest route.
Explore Act I and the five regions
The demo opens all five regions for exploration, while its story content begins with Act I. The Grasslands contain more than 15 quests. You can move beyond the opening area to gather, craft, fight, train skills, use Magic and Summoning, and look for Soulstones.

Train skills and unlock the second Summoner
More than 20 core and hybrid skills can be trained to level 99 in the demo. The second Summoner becomes available after Act I. These activities are available without a playtime or progression ceiling, so you can continue developing a save instead of reaching an automatic demo stop.
Does demo progress carry over to Early Access?
The developer says saves made in the public demo can carry into the planned Early Access launch on December 10, 2026. Keep using the same Steam account and preserve the save data associated with the demo if you want to continue that character and world. The announcement describes the transfer as intended continuity; it is not a promise that every future Early Access system or feature will be identical to the demo.
If you played the earlier public Playtest, its save progress transfers into the demo. That gives returning Playtest users a path into the current demo rather than requiring them to begin from zero, provided the relevant save remains available to Steam.

What does not carry as the same record?
The demo is a separate Steam app. Consequently, Steam hours played, achievements, and leaderboard data start fresh for the demo, even when gameplay save progress transfers. A transferred save therefore does not merge the Playtest or another Steam app’s hours, achievements, or leaderboard entries into the demo’s statistics.
Release timing and current availability

Troubleshooting installation and launch problems
The Install Demo button is missing
- Sign in to the Steam client and reopen the official demo page.
- Check the title and URL so you are on the demo listing, not another Soulstonia page.
- Restart Steam and open Library to see whether the demo was already added.
- Make sure Steam is not showing an offline or interrupted session before trying again.
Steam says there is not enough space
Check the free space on the exact drive assigned to the Steam library. The published requirement is 500 MB on Windows and 1 GB on macOS. If that drive is nearly full, select another Steam library location with more capacity, then restart the installation.

The computer does not meet requirements
Compare your operating system, processor, RAM, graphics hardware, graphics API, and available storage against the appropriate table above. On Windows, DirectX 11 support is part of the listing. On macOS, verify both macOS 14.0 Sonoma and Metal-compatible graphics. A computer that falls below the minimum may install but is outside the developer’s published baseline, so performance or launch behavior is not established by the listing.
The download is stuck or interrupted
- Open Steam’s Downloads view and check whether the demo is paused.
- Resume the download and allow Steam to complete both downloading and installing.
- If it remains stalled, pause it, restart the Steam client, and resume from the same Downloads view.
- Confirm that the selected library drive is still connected and has the required free space.
The demo installs but will not launch
- Close and reopen Steam, then launch from Library rather than repeatedly clicking the store-page control.
- Confirm that your operating system matches the published platform requirement: Windows 10 or later for the Windows minimum, or macOS 14.0 Sonoma for Mac.
- Check that the installation finished rather than remaining in a queued or paused state.
- If the issue persists, compare every listed requirement, not only RAM and storage; graphics API, processor architecture, and operating-system version are also part of the specification.
A save or transferred progress is not visible
Launch the demo from the Steam account that created the save and look for the save in the demo’s own load menu. Remember that the Playtest and demo are separate stages, and that Steam hours, achievements, and leaderboards do not merge even when gameplay progress transfers. If a save still cannot be found, avoid deleting the demo’s local data while investigating, because doing so can remove the files you are trying to recover.
Practical advice for a clean first playthrough
- Use one Steam account consistently if you want the intended save-continuity path into Early Access.
- Record the save slot or character you want to continue; procedural world layouts mean a new save may not recreate the same map.
- Leave more free space than the minimum when possible, especially on the Steam library drive used for installation.
- On a Mac, verify the Sonoma version before downloading so you do not spend time troubleshooting an unsupported operating system.
- Do not expect Playtest or other-app achievements and playtime to appear in the demo’s Steam statistics.
Bottom line
To play Soulstonia now, use the official Steam demo listing, select Install Demo, and launch it from Library. The free Windows and macOS demo includes all five regions, Act I, more than 20 skills to level 99, and uncapped play and progression.
