Choose the Xbox app when your entitlement is PC Game Pass, Game Pass Ultimate or an Xbox Play Anywhere purchase. Do not select an unrelated beta listing unless you are specifically participating in a beta event. The normal released Xbox, Xbox PC or Steam listing is the one to install.
Install or update on Xbox Series X|S
Install a new copy
- Connect the console to broadband and sign in to the Microsoft account that owns E-Day or carries the eligible Game Pass subscription.

Install the game

The Coalition announcement reproduced in that report says Ranked Versus has four playlists: Demolition, Crucible, Conquest and Team Deathmatch, with ranks and exclusive rewards. After updating, look for Ranked Versus in the game’s multiplayer menus; the update itself is delivered by the platform rather than from a separate in-game download.

Why an update may not appear
The game is still running

A disc or Collector’s Edition can prove ownership while still requiring the matching account and a digital download.
The connection is unstable

The download number is not always the amount of free space the platform needs at every stage. The launcher may reserve space, unpack compressed files, replace older files and then verify the finished installation. Leave a buffer beyond the displayed number and check the destination drive rather than only the drive containing the launcher.
Before retrying, make sure another large game or system update is not occupying the queue. On Xbox, the relevant screen is My games & apps > Manage > Updates.
