Install Call of Duty: Mobile from the official store for your device: Google Play Store on Android, or Apple App Store on iPhone and iPad. Before you download it, check the current compatibility requirements and the listing shown in your local store. Activision’s support FAQ, dated February 25, 2026, lists Android 6.0 or later and iOS 15.0 or later, with at least 2 GB of RAM for either platform.
Choose the official store for your device
There are two routes to the genuine mobile app. On Android, use the Google Play Store; on iPhone or iPad, use the Apple App Store. Activision identifies both as the official free download sources. The platforms are not interchangeable: the Android route is for Android devices, and the Apple route is for iOS devices.
Use the store app already installed on your device rather than a download site, file-sharing page, or unofficial app package. The official listing identifies the publisher as Activision Publishing, Inc. on Google Play. On either platform, check the listing title and publisher before tapping the install control; this helps distinguish the game from similarly named apps.
The download itself is free through the official stores. This installation guide does not require a physical accessory, repair tool, or paid download service. If you encounter a third-party page offering an installer, return to the store on your device instead of treating that page as another official route.

Check compatibility before downloading
Activision Support’s FAQ dated February 25, 2026 lists the following minimum device specifications:

These are the support FAQ’s stated minimums, not a promise that every device meeting them will be offered the game. A particular model, configuration, or location may receive a different availability result in the store. Treat the current listing on your own device as the final device-specific check: if it says the app is unavailable or incompatible, the baseline figures alone do not establish that the device is supported.
There is a discrepancy in Activision’s published information. Its Call of Duty store page lists older operating-system minimums—Android OS 5+ and iOS 9+—alongside 2 GB of RAM. The later, dated support FAQ gives Android 6.0+ and iOS 15.0+; use those newer support requirements when assessing compatibility, then verify your device in its local store. The older figures should not be treated as the current requirements.

Before starting a download, check the software version in your device’s Settings. On Android, the relevant information is typically in the device-information or About section; on iPhone and iPad, look in Settings under General and then About. Menu wording can vary by manufacturer and software version. Compare the version number with the applicable minimum in the table above. The support FAQ does not specify a universal menu path for checking RAM, so consult your device’s specifications if you need to confirm that figure.
Compatibility is a set of checks, not just an OS number. Consider the operating-system version, the 2 GB RAM baseline, and whether your own store listing offers the app. Passing the first two checks does not cancel an incompatible result in the store. Conversely, if you are unsure about the RAM figure, the local listing is still an important device-specific check, though it does not change the specifications Activision publishes.
Install on an Android phone or tablet
- Open Google Play Store. Use the Play Store app on the Android device where you want to play.
- Search for the game. Enter “Call of Duty: Mobile” in the store’s search field.
- Verify the listing. Confirm that the listing is for Call of Duty: Mobile and names Activision Publishing, Inc. as publisher. Check that the store offers the app for this device.
- Tap Install. Follow any prompts shown by Google Play and allow the download and installation to complete. The game is listed as a free download.
- Open the game. Once installation finishes, launch it from the store or the app icon. Keep the device connected to the internet; the game requires a connection to play.
Activision recommends a strong Wi-Fi connection for downloading. Downloads may also involve additional game resources after the app itself has been installed. Google Play’s listing, which showed an update date of June 23, 2026, says players can select additional resources such as HD resources, maps, weapons, and operators. That listing information can change; follow the prompts the game presents rather than assuming that the initial app download includes every optional resource.
That distinction matters when planning the install. There is the initial app download and there may also be separately selectable game resources. The Google Play listing describes those choices; it does not establish that every resource is mandatory or that every player needs to download the same set. Review the options the game presents and select the resources you want, keeping available storage in mind.

Install on an iPhone or iPad
- Open Apple App Store. Make sure you are using the App Store on the iPhone or iPad where you plan to install the game.
- Search for “Call of Duty: Mobile.” Select the matching official game listing rather than an unrelated result.
- Check the listing and compatibility. Confirm that the store offers the app for your device. If it reports that the app is unavailable or incompatible, use that device-specific result rather than relying only on the minimum OS and RAM figures.
- Tap Get. Complete any confirmation required by the App Store and wait for the installation to finish.
- Launch the app while connected. The game needs an internet connection to play, and Activision recommends strong Wi-Fi for downloads and connectivity.
Activision identifies the Apple App Store as the official free download source. The available listing and its compatibility result can depend on the device and location; the sources do not establish a universal region-by-region availability list.
The Android and Apple steps are similar in purpose but use separate stores and different install controls: Google Play’s Install on Android, and Get in the Apple App Store on iPhone or iPad. Do not search for an Android package to use on an iPhone, or expect the Apple listing to install on an Android device. Start from the store that belongs to the device you intend to use.
Plan for storage and additional downloads
Activision does not give a fixed installation-size figure in the cited support guidance. The amount of space needed can also be affected by resources the game offers to download, so do not rely on an old size estimate as a guarantee of how much free storage your device will need today. The store or game may indicate when more room is required.
A storage warning can appear even when the device seems to have some free space. If installation is blocked, make room before repeatedly retrying:

After freeing space, return to the official store and retry the installation. If the warning remains, reassess available storage and remove more unnecessary content. Activision’s guidance does not specify a particular amount of free space that guarantees installation, so a single target number cannot be given here.
Storage planning is useful even if the first download begins successfully. Optional resources can require additional room later, so leave some flexibility if you expect to select more of them. The cited listing does not give a single current total for the app plus every optional resource, and the available amount can depend on what you choose. Avoid treating a past download-size figure as a reliable promise for a later install.
Fix common download and installation problems
The store will not install the app
First check the operating-system minimums and whether the official listing marks your device as compatible. If the device meets the stated baseline but the store still refuses the download, the baseline does not override the store’s device-specific result. Confirm that the device has enough available space, connect to strong Wi-Fi, restart the phone or tablet, and try again.

Work through those checks one at a time: confirm you are in the correct official store, verify the OS version, check the listing’s availability result, and make sure storage and network conditions are adequate. This helps distinguish a compatibility decision from a temporary download problem. If the listing itself says the device is incompatible or the app is unavailable, repeatedly retrying does not change the store’s device-specific result.

An Android download is stuck or failing
Activision’s troubleshooting steps include clearing the Google Play Store’s cache and data through the device’s Settings. The exact labels and locations differ across Android versions and manufacturers, so look in Settings for the app-management controls for Google Play Store, then use its storage controls to clear cache and data. Return to Google Play Store and try the download again. Because the menu wording varies, do not assume every Android device has an identical sequence of screens.
Before retrying, make sure you are clearing data for Google Play Store rather than deleting the Call of Duty: Mobile listing or using an unofficial installer. If you cannot find the same labels described on another device, use your phone maker’s Settings organization as a guide; Activision’s instructions account for variation in menu names and do not prescribe one universal screen path.
The device reports insufficient storage
Use the storage-clearing steps above: remove unused apps, clear caches belonging to other apps, or delete large files. Activision notes that the warning may appear even when the device appears to have some free space. Since no guaranteed free-space threshold is stated, the practical test is whether the store and game allow the download to proceed after you make additional room.
If the warning appears again, do not infer that the game has a fixed storage requirement from the message alone. Free additional space using content you no longer need, then retry from the official store. Optional resources may add to the space needed after the app has installed, so consider that when deciding what to download.
The game installs but will not connect
Call of Duty: Mobile requires an internet connection to play. Check that the device is connected, then try a strong Wi-Fi connection; Activision recommends strong Wi-Fi for downloads and connectivity. If the game cannot connect on one network, checking the connection and trying again on a reliable Wi-Fi connection is the supported first step in the cited guidance.
Installing the app and being able to play are separate steps: a successful installation does not remove the game’s internet requirement. If you were able to download the app but cannot connect when you open it, begin by checking the device’s connection and trying strong Wi-Fi rather than reinstalling immediately.

The game is missing from the store or marked incompatible
Use the listing shown by Google Play or the Apple App Store on the device itself. Activision’s available guidance does not provide a complete region-by-region availability list and does not guarantee that all devices meeting the minimum RAM and OS requirements will be supported. If the official listing does not offer the game, do not substitute an unofficial package or download from a third-party site.
There is no universal workaround established for an unavailable listing. The useful checks are to confirm that you are using the correct store for the device and review the listing on that device. The older OS figures on Activision’s Call of Duty store page do not supersede the newer February 25, 2026 support FAQ, and neither set of baseline figures promises availability on every model or in every location.
Why to avoid unofficial installers and emulators
For a phone or tablet, obtain the app through its official store rather than a separately downloaded installation file. An unofficial package is not the official store route Activision identifies, and it does not resolve the store’s compatibility decision.
Activision Support states in its troubleshooting article that “Call of Duty: Mobile does not support the use of emulators.” This is a support limitation, not an alternative installation method. If your phone or tablet cannot install the game through its official store, the cited support information does not establish an emulator as a supported workaround.
In practical terms, a search result for an emulator or a sideloaded package should not replace the basic checks in this guide. Use the Android or Apple store corresponding to your device, verify the official game listing, and follow the store’s compatibility result. Activision’s emulator statement is explicit: emulators are not supported for playing Call of Duty: Mobile.
