If you want your next meeting visible without opening a calendar, choose the display that fits the job: add Google Calendar’s schedule widget to an Android home screen for personal events, or use a room panel or calendar-connected display for shared meeting spaces. Before putting a room schedule on a screen, check calendar compatibility, what details it reveals, and whether it supports booking or only displays information.
Choose a display for the way you use your calendar

These options solve different problems. A phone widget surfaces your own events; a room display makes shared-space availability visible. A calendar appearing on a screen does not by itself mean people can reserve the room from that screen.
Show your personal schedule on an Android home screen
Google documents Calendar widgets for Android phones and tablets. The schedule widget shows upcoming events and meetings, while a separate month-view widget provides a broader calendar view. Google’s setup begins in the home screen’s Widgets menu; the exact steps and available sizes can vary by device.
- Open the home screen on your Android phone or tablet.
- Open the home screen’s Widgets menu. The way to open it depends on the device and launcher.
- Find Calendar, then choose the schedule widget for upcoming events or the month-view widget.
- Add the widget to the home screen and adjust its size or placement if your device offers those controls.

Put a shared room’s schedule on a dedicated panel
Microsoft Teams panels
Teams panels are dedicated meeting-room devices that show details from meetings scheduled through Outlook or Teams calendars. Microsoft says the Upcoming Calendar tile displays room scheduling details up to 24 hours ahead from the current hour. A newly scheduled meeting can take up to 90 seconds to sync and appear on a panel; this is Microsoft’s documented behavior for Teams panels, not a general promise about other calendar displays.
Organizations should confirm how the room calendar and device are configured, what meeting information the panel displays, and what booking actions it supports. Microsoft’s Teams panels documentation describes the product-specific setup and display behavior.

Reuse a tablet or browser-enabled screen
A dedicated panel is not the only possible approach. Dash says its room-display software runs on Android tablets and browser-enabled screens, with room and multi-room display modes. Look DS describes publishing a room calendar to supported smart displays or through an HDMI player. These are vendor-described capabilities, so verify compatibility for the specific calendar, device, and software combination rather than assuming any tablet or screen will work.

Decide whether the screen should only display or also book
Displaying an existing calendar and managing reservations are separate functions. Look DS states that signage alone does not automatically provide room-booking logic or write changes back to a calendar. If people need to reserve or release a room from the screen, check that the connected workplace system supports those actions and that the display has the required permissions.
- For an information-only screen, verify how often it refreshes and which calendar it reads.
- For a booking screen, verify reservation support, calendar write-back, and the permissions required to make changes.
- For multiple rooms, confirm that the system can show the intended rooms and that its configuration suits your deployment.
Check privacy before making a room schedule public
A screen in a corridor or reception area may be visible to visitors and passersby. Check whether it reveals meeting titles, organizers, attendees, or descriptions, and whether you can hide sensitive fields. Dash says its displayed information can be customized so sensitive meeting names stay hidden; that is a vendor-described feature, not evidence that every display offers the same controls. For an Outlook calendar display, Fugo’s August 6, 2026 guide recommends a dedicated Microsoft 365 service account with read-only access. The guide describes scheduled sign-ins and screenshot refreshes for its own workflow, and says its Dashboards feature requires arranging a demo. These details apply to Fugo’s product, not to calendar displays generally. Review the account permissions and refresh behavior of whichever system you choose. Set up a shared screen in the right order
- Identify the calendar platform. Establish whether the schedule is in Outlook, Teams, Google Workspace, or another supported calendar.
- Confirm whose calendar it is. A shared room schedule may belong to a room resource rather than an individual account.
- Choose the display type. Match a dedicated panel, tablet, browser-enabled screen, or signage setup to the device and calendar support you have verified.
- Set the information and permissions. Decide which event fields should be visible and whether the screen is read-only or allowed to change bookings.
- Check live behavior. Confirm how updates appear, how the display behaves when left on, and whether its refresh timing meets the room’s needs.
There is no independent comparative testing here to establish which product is fastest, most reliable, least expensive, or most secure. Display quality, compatibility, service features, and security depend on the specific setup, so verify current product documentation before deployment.
