To dispel Ma Fishface’s ward in The Sinking City 2, find Freddie’s Urn in a compartment behind the painting near the Cold Storage exit, then use the urn on the ward at the second-floor Abandoned Office. The target is the figure without an instrument—the second man from the right.
Find Freddie’s Urn behind the Cold Storage painting
- Check the clues, if needed. The Eulogy for Old Freddie is on the pub’s second-floor bar, and the Tide Runners clue is in the basement by Cold Storage. The Fish Market walkthrough recommends connecting Old Freddie – Ex Voto, Eulogy for Old Freddie, and Old Shop Ward in the Investigation menu. These clues provide context for the puzzle.
- Go to the painting near the Cold Storage exit. Look for the figure without a musical instrument, described by walkthroughs as the second man from the right.
- Hit that figure. One walkthrough says shooting or melee can reveal the compartment; another specifically describes shooting. The guides do not all describe the method the same way.
- Open the revealed compartment and collect Freddie’s Urn. Breaking the mural is not enough; interact with the compartment to pick up the urn.
Use the urn to open the ward
- Return to the second floor and find the ward at the Abandoned Office entrance.
- Use Freddie’s Urn on the ward. Walkthroughs report that Faye sings the melody and the barrier opens.
- Enter Ma Fishface’s Shop to continue the chapter. After the scene, the chapter route includes a Leyden Jar on the counter.
Freddie’s Urn—not a Leyden Jar—is the solution
The walkthroughs identify Freddie’s Urn as the item for this ward. Leyden Jars are used for other puzzles, not to dispel Ma Fishface’s barrier. The instructions above reflect walkthrough guidance; the available sources are not official game documentation.
