To deploy a one-click service in Coolify, open a project and environment, choose Create New Resource → one-click Service, select a connected server and network, complete the service configuration, and click Deploy. Then verify container health, persistent storage, DNS, proxy routing, and HTTPS.
A Coolify service is a Docker Compose stack generated from a maintained service template. Coolify coordinates Docker deployment, reverse-proxy routing, domains, certificates, logs, and lifecycle actions; you still operate the server and remain responsible for DNS, secrets, firewall rules, updates, backups, and the security of anything you expose.

A one-click service is a ready-made Docker Compose deployment in Coolify. The catalog entry supplies a Compose definition for a packaged application, database, or multi-container stack, so you do not have to write the initial Compose file yourself. Coolify creates the resource from that template and deploys its containers to a server you control.
The service library is maintained by Coolify and currently advertises more than 280 one-click services (Coolify website claim accessed October 15, 2026). The catalog changes over time, so the number and the available templates can differ when you open your installation.

One-click does not mean unmanaged. You must provide a destination server, set required variables, decide which data needs persistent storage, point any domain at the server, and maintain the resulting workload. The template is a starting point, not a hosted service operated by Coolify on your behalf.
What you need before you start
Coolify access
You can run the Coolify control plane yourself or use Coolify Cloud. For a self-hosted installation, Coolify’s official installation guide documents an automated one-command installation and requires root access on the installation server. Coolify Cloud hosts the control plane, but you still connect a server where your services will run.

A connected server
Add a server in Coolify and confirm that SSH access and Docker connectivity work before creating the service. Coolify prepares and validates the connected server, but it does not take ownership of operating-system updates, firewall policy, DNS, or the server bill. Keep administrative access available for investigating disk, memory, kernel, and network problems.
Capacity appropriate to the workload
There is no universal “one-click service” server size. A small stateless service and a database-backed, multi-container stack have very different CPU, memory, storage, and I/O requirements. DigitalOcean’s 2026 Coolify marketplace documentation lists a Coolify-only minimum of 2 CPU cores, 2 GB of RAM, and 30 GB of storage. That is a baseline for running Coolify itself, not a production guarantee for your services.

DigitalOcean publishes larger example tiers for production workloads, but the correct size depends on the number and type of applications, services, and databases. Vultr also documents Coolify marketplace applications and SSH-connected deployment options. These provider examples are hosting references, not universal guarantees.
Domain and secret information
Have a domain or subdomain ready if the service will be accessed through a hostname. You will need DNS control to create the required record. Also gather passwords, API keys, encryption keys, database names, and any service-specific values listed as required variables. Treat these as secrets: use Coolify’s protected configuration facilities where available and do not commit them to a public repository.

Plan the cost envelope
Coolify software does not eliminate infrastructure costs. Budget for the connected VPS or cloud server, additional block storage for stateful data, backup storage, and any bandwidth or managed DNS charges your provider applies. A Coolify Cloud control plane still requires a separately paid server for the containers. Start with the smallest workload-appropriate instance, but leave room for image layers, logs, database growth, and temporary deployment overhead. Resizing later is possible, but capacity planning is safer than waiting for an out-of-memory failure.
Service or Application: choose the correct resource
Use a Service when the software is represented by a ready-made Coolify template, a multi-container Compose stack, or a Compose definition you want to manage inside Coolify. Use an Application when your source of truth is a Git repository, a Dockerfile, or an existing container image.

If the catalog does not contain the software you need, do not force it into a one-click resource. Create an Application or supply a Compose-based resource using the deployment model that matches the software’s source and update process.
Step-by-step: deploy a one-click service
1. Install or open Coolify
- For a self-hosted control plane, follow Coolify’s official installation guide and complete its automated installation with the required root access.
- For Coolify Cloud, sign in to the control plane and prepare a server connection. The cloud control plane does not remove the need for a server to run your containers.
2. Connect and validate the destination server
- In Coolify, add the server using its SSH details.
- Wait for Coolify to prepare and validate Docker and the connection.
- Resolve SSH authentication, firewall, Docker, or operating-system errors before creating the service. A deployment cannot succeed reliably if the destination is not healthy first.
3. Open a project and environment
From the Coolify dashboard, open the project in which the workload belongs, then select the target environment. Keeping separate environments for development, staging, and production prevents an experimental deployment from sharing production variables and domains accidentally.
4. Create the resource from the catalog
- Select Create New Resource.
- Choose one-click Service.
- Search or browse the catalog and select the service template.
Coolify copies the maintained Compose template into the new resource at this point. The resource receives its own Compose definition; it is not a live pointer to the catalog entry.
5. Select the server and network destination
Choose the connected server on which the containers should run and select the network destination offered by Coolify. Confirm that the destination has the CPU, memory, storage, and network access needed by every component in the stack, not just the main web container.

6. Review configuration before deploying
Open the service’s Configuration → General area and inspect the generated settings. Work through the following items before pressing Deploy:
- Environment variables: fill every value marked required. Check names, capitalization, URLs, ports, usernames, and passwords exactly as the template expects.
- Persistent storage: identify database files, uploads, queues, and other state. Bind them to persistent volumes or host storage rather than leaving important data in a disposable container layer.
- Domains: enter the hostname for the web-facing component and confirm which internal service and port should receive traffic.
- Compose definition: read the generated services, images, ports, dependencies, health checks, volumes, and networks. Edit deliberately when you understand the effect; a template may include several components that must start together.
- Secrets and exposure: remove unnecessary public ports and use strong, unique credentials. A port exposed by Docker is not automatically safe simply because a proxy domain is configured.
Save the configuration after completing the required values. An empty required variable is a common reason for a stack to start partially or fail during initialization.
7. Deploy and read the output
Select Deploy. Watch the deployment output instead of navigating away immediately. It shows image pulls, container creation, migrations, dependency errors, and health-check results. Wait for every required component to reach its expected running or healthy state; a web container alone does not prove that its database, worker, or queue is ready.
8. Configure DNS, routing, and HTTPS
- Create the DNS record for the configured domain, normally pointing the hostname to the server’s public address.
- Wait for DNS to resolve from the networks used by your visitors or monitoring system.
- Confirm that Coolify’s proxy routes the hostname to the intended service and exposed port.
- Enable or verify HTTPS after the hostname resolves. Coolify can coordinate proxy routing and certificates, but domain ownership, DNS correctness, and certificate-related validation remain your responsibility.
How to verify that the service is healthy
Use more than the browser page. A deployment is healthy only when the required components are running, dependencies can communicate, data is stored where expected, and the public endpoint answers correctly.
- Review the deployment output for failed pulls, exit codes, restart loops, migration errors, and failed health checks.
- Open the service logs for the web, worker, database, and auxiliary components. Look for authentication failures, refused connections, missing files, and permission errors.
- Test the configured domain over HTTPS and confirm that the response comes from the intended service rather than a default proxy page.
- Check that the service can reach its internal dependencies on the Compose network.
- Restart or recreate only after confirming that important state is on persistent storage.
- Record the final domain, variables, volume locations, backup target, and template customizations for future maintenance.
Template updates and the saved Compose definition
When you select a catalog service, Coolify copies its Compose definition into your resource. Later changes in the service library do not rewrite that saved definition automatically. This protects a running deployment from an unexpected catalog change, but it also means that security fixes, image updates, new variables, and corrected health checks will not appear by themselves.
When you want changes from a newer catalog template, compare the current library entry with the Compose definition stored in your resource. Apply the changes deliberately, preserve your local domains, secrets, and volume mappings, and redeploy during a controlled maintenance window. Test migrations and backups before applying an update to a stateful production service.

A safer first-deployment checklist
Before exposing a new service publicly, make a short record of the intended state. Note the project and environment, destination server, network, domain, required variables, exposed ports, persistent-volume paths, and dependencies. This makes a later failure easier to diagnose and helps distinguish a configuration problem from a host problem.
- Confirm the server connection and available disk, memory, and CPU.
- Confirm that every required variable has a deliberate value and that default credentials have been replaced.
- Confirm which containers are stateful and where their volumes live.
- Confirm that only the web-facing component needs a public domain or port.
- Deploy once, read all output, and inspect logs before announcing the service as ready.
- Test a backup and restoration procedure before the service accumulates important data.
For a staging deployment, use a separate domain and non-production secrets. Promote the same reviewed Compose changes to production rather than experimenting directly on the production resource.
Troubleshooting an unhealthy or unreachable service

Operational responsibilities after deployment
Coolify simplifies the mechanics of deploying and managing containers, but the operator still owns the surrounding system:
- Server: pay for it, apply operating-system and Docker updates, monitor capacity, and replace an unhealthy host.
- Network security: maintain firewall rules, restrict administrative access, and expose only the ports the service needs.
- DNS and domains: keep records accurate, renew domains, and control who can change them.
- Secrets: rotate passwords and keys, limit access, and avoid publishing them in Compose files or logs.
- Backups: back up persistent volumes and databases to storage independent of the server, then test restoration.
- Application security: review images, default credentials, admin endpoints, and internet exposure. A one-click template does not make an application secure by default.
- Observability: retain useful logs, monitor health endpoints, and set alerts for disk, memory, certificate, and backup failures.
When one-click deployment is the right choice
Choose a one-click service when you want a maintained starting Compose stack and are prepared to review its variables, storage, ports, and update path. It is especially useful for software that naturally consists of several cooperating containers or for a catalog entry with sensible defaults.
Choose an Application instead when your deployment must follow your own Git-based build, Dockerfile, or published image. That approach gives you direct control over the build and release pipeline, while a one-click service gives you a faster initial Compose definition. In either case, Coolify is the orchestration layer; it does not replace capacity planning, security, DNS administration, or backups.

What server do I need for a Coolify one-click service?
Sizing depends on the workload. DigitalOcean lists 2 CPU cores, 2 GB RAM, and 30 GB storage as a 2026 minimum for Coolify itself. Production services may require considerably more CPU, memory, storage, and I/O.

Can I use Coolify Cloud without buying a server?
No. Coolify Cloud hosts the control plane, but you still connect a server where the service containers run and you remain responsible for that server’s cost and operation.
Why is my Coolify service unhealthy after deployment?
Read deployment output and component logs first. Check missing variables, dependency health, credentials, persistent volumes, DNS and proxy settings, disk space, memory, and CPU. A web container can run while its database or worker is still failing.
Will Coolify automatically update a catalog service template?
