To delete Bumble, use the service’s Delete account control in the mobile app or on Bumble.com. Uninstalling the app, signing out, or remaining inactive only removes the app from your device; it does not delete your profile.
Cancel any Boost, Premium, or Premium+ subscription separately, and request a copy of messages or account data before deletion if you may need it. Bumble removes the profile from public view, but its normal process includes a 28-day restoration window and defined retention exceptions. A separate Data Erasure Request can ask Bumble Support to begin erasure immediately.
What deleting Bumble actually does
Account deletion and app removal are different actions. Deleting or uninstalling Bumble from an iPhone or Android phone does not delete the account, and simply leaving the account unused does not remove the profile. Your account remains until you complete Bumble’s deletion flow.

When you delete the account, Bumble says the profile is no longer viewable in the app. The account can normally be restored for up to 28 days if you contact Bumble’s team and change your mind. After that window, information begins to be removed and the deleted account cannot be regained through the normal reactivation period.

Deletion is not an unconditional, instant wipe of every record. Bumble’s Privacy Policy describes retention for safety, legal, regulatory, fraud-prevention, and operational purposes. Information that other people copied, saved, or received outside Bumble may also remain beyond Bumble’s control.
Before you delete: a three-point checklist
Cancel paid subscriptions separately
Deleting your Bumble profile does not necessarily cancel Boost, Premium, or Premium+ billing. Cancel the subscription before its next renewal using the subscription-management controls for the service that charged you. Keep the cancellation confirmation or receipt.
Save information you may need
If you want past conversations or a copy of your account information, request it before deleting the profile. Bumble Support handles this through support chat; state that you want to “Request data.” Bumble says a request can take up to 30 days, and it may be unable to retrieve data after a profile has been deleted for more than 28 days.

Use the normal account control if hiding the profile and starting Bumble’s standard deletion timeline meet your needs. If you want Bumble to begin erasure immediately, submit a Data Erasure Request through Support instead. Support may verify your identity and says processing can take up to 30 days.

The labels below are the current Bumble Support path for both iOS and Android. Complete the final confirmation; stopping after opening Settings does not delete the account.

- Open the Bumble app and tap the profile icon.
- Tap the gear icon to open Settings.
- Scroll all the way to the bottom of Settings.
- Tap Delete account.
- Choose a reason when Bumble asks why you are leaving.
- Confirm the final on-screen prompt.
After confirmation, Bumble removes the profile from public view. If you need a data copy or conversation history, do that before step 6; deletion can make later retrieval unavailable once the 28-day period has passed.

You can use Bumble’s website instead of the mobile app:

- Go to Bumble.com and log in.
- Click your profile picture.
- Choose Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page.
- Click Delete account.
- Choose a reason and confirm the final prompt.
Web deletion and in-app deletion use the same account-level control. Removing the app later is optional; it does not change the deletion status.
Ordinary deletion versus a Data Erasure Request
Both routes concern the same Bumble account, but they serve different timing and support needs. The comparison below separates what Bumble states about each process from what remains subject to its Privacy Policy.

How to request your Bumble data or old conversations
Do not delete first if the information matters to you. Bumble directs users to Support chat for an account-information or conversation request.

- Open Bumble Support and start a support chat.
- Tell the agent that you want to “Request data.”
- Specify whether you are seeking account information, past conversations, or both.
- Complete any identity checks Support requests.
- Wait for the response; Bumble says fulfillment can take up to 30 days.
A request is not a guarantee that every historical item can be produced. Bumble says it may be unable to retrieve data when the profile has been deleted for more than 28 days. Messages or images that another person copied, exported, or stored independently are outside Bumble’s ability to remove from that person’s possession.
How to start faster or broader erasure
If hiding the profile is not enough and you want Bumble to begin its erasure process immediately, use the Data Erasure Request available through Bumble Support. Include the account details Support asks for and be prepared to verify your identity.
Bumble states that processing may take up to 30 days. “Immediate” in this context means the request can start the erasure workflow without waiting for the ordinary restoration period; it does not mean every record disappears at the moment the form or message is sent. Policy, safety, legal, and regulatory retention can still prevent complete removal of particular records.
What Bumble may retain after deletion
Bumble’s current Privacy Policy says almost all profile data is deleted 28 days after account deletion or erasure, but lists categories with longer retention. These periods are measured from account deletion or erasure and are not promises that every item in a category will be retained for the full period.

Bumble also says it may retain information for legal or regulatory reasons. Those duties can apply even when a user has requested erasure.

What deletion cannot remove from other people’s devices
Deleting your account controls Bumble’s copy and the profile’s visibility inside Bumble. It cannot reach a screenshot, downloaded image, copied message, contact entry, or other copy that someone else already stored. Bumble’s Privacy Policy specifically warns that information previously shared, copied, or stored by others may remain viewable or accessible outside Bumble.
If you are concerned about a particular message or image, ask the recipient to delete their copy before you close the account. That is a request to the other person, not a technical action Bumble can guarantee.

“I deleted the app, but my profile still appears.”
Reinstalling or uninstalling the app does not change account status. Log in and follow the in-app Delete account path, or use Bumble.com.
“I cannot find Delete account.”
In the app, open your profile, tap the gear for Settings, and scroll to the bottom. On the web, click your profile picture, choose Settings, and scroll to the bottom. If the control is still unavailable, use Bumble Support and explain that you need account deletion.
“My subscription renewed after I deleted Bumble.”
Account deletion and billing cancellation are separate. Use the subscription-management service that processed the purchase and cancel before the next renewal. Keep the billing record and contact that billing service if a charge occurred after a confirmed cancellation.

“I deleted the account but now want it back.”
Bumble says you have up to 28 days to contact its team for reactivation. After that period, information begins to be removed and the normal restoration window no longer applies.
“I need my messages after deleting.”
Contact Bumble Support as soon as possible and request data. Bumble says retrieval may take up to 30 days and may not be possible once the profile has been deleted for more than 28 days.
“I want every record gone immediately.”
Submit a Data Erasure Request through Support. Bumble may verify your identity, can take up to 30 days to process the request, and may retain records covered by its stated safety, legal, regulatory, or blocked-member exceptions.
A practical deletion sequence
For most people, the safest order is:
- Review whether any Bumble conversations, account details, or evidence of a safety report must be saved.
- Use Support chat to request data if you need a copy.
- Cancel Boost, Premium, or Premium+ through the service that bills you.
- Delete the account in the app or on Bumble.com.
- If immediate erasure is important, submit the Data Erasure Request as well.
- Keep confirmation messages and note the date, because the 28-day restoration period and any 30-day Support-processing period run from these events.
This sequence avoids the two most common surprises: losing access to data before requesting it and assuming profile deletion has stopped subscription billing.
