To delete a karaoke-app account, use that app’s built-in deletion control or its official support process—not by uninstalling the app. Save recordings and other content first, cancel any subscription through the store or billing channel that charged you, complete every confirmation step, and keep the request receipt. The exact menu, waiting period, and data removed depend on the service and your country.
The documented Smule and StarMaker procedures below show why you should follow app-specific instructions rather than assume every karaoke service works the same way.
What account deletion actually does
Removing an app from your phone only removes the local application and cached files. It does not tell the service to close your account or erase information stored on its servers. Start with the account controls inside the karaoke app, or use the provider’s official support channel when no self-service option is available.

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteDeletion is normally a request followed by a processing period. During that period, the service may let you cancel the request or reactivate the account. After completion, restoration may be impossible. The provider’s privacy policy controls what is deleted, what may be retained for legal or security reasons, and how long different systems take to update.

Do these checks before submitting a request
Identify the exact app, platform, and country policy
Menu labels differ between iOS and Android, and privacy rights can vary by region. Confirm the app name, your phone’s platform, and the policy that applies to your country before following a procedure. The StarMaker route described below is specifically from its US privacy policy; it should not be presented as a worldwide process.
Save recordings and other material you want to keep
Download or otherwise preserve recordings, videos, drafts, lyrics, messages, profile information, and any other material you may need later. Smule says account deletion removes content and cannot be reversed after completion. Its Android guidance also warns that content can include recordings made by other people using arrangements you uploaded, so review shared material before you confirm.
Check connected services and social activity
Review collaborations, group performances, comments, followers, likes, gifts, and groups. Smule’s general deletion FAQ says these account-related items are deleted, while joins to other users’ group performances are an exception. The same FAQ says deletion can affect associated accounts in Magic Piano, AutoRap, and Style Studio. Read the current confirmation screen for the precise scope of your account.

Separate account deletion from subscription cancellation
Deleting an account is not the same as canceling a paid plan. Smule explicitly says account deletion does not cancel VIP. Find the billing channel on your receipt—Apple, Google Play, or the service’s website—and cancel there before submitting the deletion request. Keep the cancellation receipt separately from the account-deletion confirmation.
Delete a Smule account on iPhone or iPad

- Open Smule and tap Settings.
- Open Support.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Read the warning, save anything you need, and complete the confirmation shown by the app.
- Record the submission date and retain any email or in-app status message.
The iOS article states that deletion happens after 30 days, removes the account content, and is irreversible once completed. It also states: “Note that requesting account deletion does NOT cancel your VIP subscription.” If Apple billed VIP, cancel it in your Apple account’s subscriptions before starting deletion. If Smule’s website billed you, cancel on Smule.com before submitting the request.
Delete a Smule account on Android
Smule’s Android instructions (updated November 7, 2024) provide both a support route and an in-app route.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
In-app route
- Open Smule and go to Account settings.
- Tap Support.
- Choose Delete Account.
- Review the consequences and confirm the request.
- Save the confirmation and note the date.
Support-request route
- Open Smule’s official support request form.
- Select Remove Smule Profile (Account Deletion).
- Submit the request using the account details requested by support.
- When the confirmation email arrives, reply with
I confirmexactly as instructed. - Keep the email thread and any ticket number until the deletion is complete.
The Android article says deletion occurs after 30 days and that all content is removed during the process. Its wording is explicit: “Deleting your account is irreversible, and all content will be removed in the process, and cannot be restored.” It also says VIP is not canceled automatically.
If a website-billed subscription is already in the deletion process, the Android article says to contact Smule support and provide the transaction ID. Do not assume that closing the profile stops a charge that is managed outside the app.
Understand Smule’s deletion window and what disappears
Smule publishes two different timelines. The iOS and Android instruction pages state 30 days. Smule’s general FAQ, “General questions regarding deletion” (updated October 27, 2023), says deletion occurs 7 to 28 days after submission. Because the published figures conflict, neither should be treated as a universal guarantee. Use the deadline and status shown in the confirmation associated with your own request; if they differ from the help page, ask Smule support to clarify.

The general FAQ lists account-related performances, comments, followers, likes, gifts, and groups as deleted. It notes an exception for joins to other users’ group performances. Smule also says deletion can affect accounts connected to Magic Piano, AutoRap, and Style Studio. Your final deletion screen is the controlling notice for the account you are closing.
Smule says an account may be reactivated while it is still in the deletion process. Once deletion finishes, the account cannot be restored. If you change your mind, use the reactivation method in the confirmation or contact official support before the stated processing period ends.
Delete a StarMaker account and related data
StarMaker’s privacy policy for US users, effective May 1, 2023, gives an in-app request path:
- Open StarMaker and go to Settings.
- Open Account Security.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Read the warning and submit the request.
The policy says that after the request is submitted, you will no longer be able to use StarMaker. The policy text available for this procedure does not state a completion period, so do not promise that deletion will finish in a particular number of days. Keep the submission confirmation and contact StarMaker through its official support route if the account remains accessible or you need clarification about retained information.
StarMaker’s App Store listing displays developer-reported privacy categories including audio data, photos or videos, user content, identifiers, usage data, and other categories. Apple says the developer’s privacy responses have not been verified by Apple. Treat that listing, accessed October 13, 2026, as a disclosure snapshot—not as a complete, independently verified inventory or a promise that every listed category will disappear immediately.

What a deletion request may not erase immediately
Do not promise yourself that every copy vanishes the moment you tap Delete. The documented instructions establish the account-level actions above, but they do not establish that backups, fraud-prevention logs, tax records, legally required records, or information held by independent third parties are erased immediately. A provider may retain limited information where its policy or law permits or requires it.
Read the privacy policy for your country for retention language. If you need a specific category removed—such as a support transcript, payment record, or marketing identifier—ask the provider to identify whether it is covered by the account-deletion request and, if not, which privacy-request channel handles it.
Subscriptions, app-store billing, and refunds
Apple-billed plans
Open your Apple account’s subscription management screen and cancel the karaoke subscription there. Account deletion inside the app does not replace that step. Check the renewal date and save Apple’s cancellation confirmation.
Google Play-billed plans
Use the Google Play subscription controls for the Google account that made the purchase. Confirm that the status changes to canceled and note the end date. The account-deletion screen cannot be assumed to change Google Play billing.
Website-billed plans
Sign in to the provider’s website and cancel the plan in its billing area before submitting account deletion. For Smule, the Android guidance says that if website-billed deletion has already begun, support should be contacted with the transaction ID.

Refunds and disputed charges
Cancellation stops future renewals; it does not automatically create a refund for a prior charge. Request refunds from the company or store that processed the payment, using its published process. Keep billing correspondence even after the profile is gone.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Keep a defensible record of the request
- Write down the app, platform, country, and account identifier used.
- Record the exact date and time you submitted deletion.
- Save confirmation emails, ticket numbers, screenshots of the final warning, and subscription-cancellation receipts.
- Note the stated processing window without treating it as a guarantee.
- Do not send passwords or payment-card numbers in a support reply unless the provider’s official process explicitly requires a safe verification method.
Troubleshoot a failed or incomplete deletion
The Delete Account control is missing
Update the app, verify that you are signed into the intended profile, and check the service’s official help center for a platform-specific route. Do not use an unofficial form found in a forum or social-media post. Smule’s Android support route is the documented fallback when self-service is unavailable.
The confirmation email never arrives
Check spam, promotions, and filtered folders; verify the email address on the account; and wait for the provider’s stated response period. If there is still no message, open a new request through the official support channel and reference the original submission date. Avoid sending multiple contradictory confirmations.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →The app still accepts a login during the waiting period
Some services keep an account usable until processing completes. Check the deletion status rather than assuming that a successful login canceled the request. For Smule, reactivation is possible during the deletion process; use the status or support instructions if you intend to stop deletion.
A charge appears after deletion was requested
Look at the store or merchant name on the receipt. If the subscription was billed by Apple, Google Play, or a website, resolve it with that billing channel. For Smule website billing during an active deletion process, include the transaction ID when contacting support.
Content remains visible after the stated period
Capture the profile URL or screen, the date observed, and the original confirmation. Contact official support and ask whether the item is an exception, a join in another user’s group performance, cached content, or an account that was not the one submitted for deletion. Do not create a second account to test the result; that can complicate identification.
Compare an app’s policy before you submit
Use this checklist to evaluate any karaoke service. Fill each item from the service’s current policy or confirmation screen rather than assuming Smule’s or StarMaker’s rules apply.
| Question | Why it matters | Documented example |
|---|---|---|
| Where does the request start? | You need the correct menu or official support form. | Smule: Settings/Account settings > Support > Delete Account; StarMaker US: Settings > Account Security > Delete Account. |
| Is identity or email confirmation required? | An unconfirmed request may not enter processing. | Smule’s Android support route requires replying “I confirm.” |
| What is the stated waiting period? | It sets expectations and tells you when to follow up. | Smule pages state 30 days; its general FAQ states 7–28 days. StarMaker’s cited US policy gives no period. |
| Which content is removed? | Recordings and social items may not have identical treatment. | Smule’s FAQ lists performances, comments, followers, likes, gifts, and groups, with an exception for joins to other users’ group performances. |
| Are linked apps affected? | One request may change more than one profile. | Smule names Magic Piano, AutoRap, and Style Studio. |
| Must billing be canceled separately? | Otherwise a subscription can continue after profile deletion. | Smule says VIP is not canceled by account deletion. |
| Can the request be reversed? | You need to know the last opportunity to recover the account. | Smule allows reactivation during processing but not after completion. |
| What retention exceptions apply? | Some records may remain under the privacy policy or law. | Ask the specific service; the cited instructions do not establish immediate erasure from every backup or third party. |
Final pre-confirmation checklist
- Verify the app, platform, and applicable regional policy.
- Export recordings and copy any profile or collaboration information you need.
- Review shared performances and linked accounts.
- Cancel Apple, Google Play, or website billing through the channel that charged you.
- Open the in-app deletion control or official support form.
- Complete email or identity confirmation, if requested.
- Save the confirmation and record the submission date.
- Monitor the status until the stated process ends, then contact official support if the account or covered content remains.
The safest general rule is simple: treat deletion as an app-specific privacy request, not as an uninstall action. Follow the service’s current screen and policy, preserve evidence of what you submitted, and keep subscription cancellation separate.
