To customize a Galaxy S22 lock screen, open Settings > Wallpaper and style, tap the lock-screen preview, and edit the clock, shortcuts, or widgets in the editor. The exact labels and available options can vary by software version.
Open the Galaxy S22 lock-screen editor

Open Settings and tap Wallpaper and style.

Tap the Lock screen preview to open its editor. AT&T documents this path for the Galaxy S22; Samsung also describes a lock-screen editor for Galaxy devices generally.

Change or hide the lock-screen clock

In the lock-screen editor, tap Clock.

Choose a clock style, then move or resize the clock as desired. You can also hide it.

Tap Done to apply the selection.
The available choices depend on what the installed software presents in the shortcut picker.

Add widgets for at-a-glance information

Go to Settings > Wallpaper and style and select the current lock-screen preview.

Tap Add widgets.

Select a widget, choose a style when prompted, then tap Done.
Samsung’s current Brief widget instructions are for Galaxy devices generally rather than an S22-only software build. Samsung notes that supported Brief widget apps may be added, removed, or updated over time. See Samsung UK’s Brief widget instructions, updated 19 March 2026.

Galaxy S22 menu labels and features can depend on the software installed on the phone. Samsung’s widget guide does not provide a complete feature matrix for every S22 One UI release, region, or carrier. If a label differs, follow the closest matching option shown on your phone rather than assuming a missing feature is available on every build.

One specific version limit: Samsung US says the option to show lock-screen wallpaper on Always On Display is available only on devices running One UI 7.0 or higher.
