Use Razer Controller Setup for Xbox to remap supported controls: select a profile, choose Edit, open Assign Buttons, select the control, choose its replacement function, and select Done. Sensitivity adjustment is model-dependent. Razer specifically documents thumbstick sensitivity controls for the Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition and lists them for the Wolverine Ultimate; do not assume every Wolverine model has the same slider.
What you need before changing a setting
Razer’s configuration utility is called Razer Controller Setup for Xbox. Razer lists the Wolverine Ultimate, Tournament Edition, V2 variants, V2 Chroma variants, V3 Pro variants and V3 Tournament Edition variants as supported devices. Check the exact name printed on your controller or its packaging before looking for a setting. Two controllers in the Wolverine family can have different menus and controls.
The app is free. Your controller must be connected to the Xbox or PC on which you are configuring it, and the controller must be recognized by the app before a profile can be edited. If the model is not in Razer’s supported-device list, the app cannot be expected to provide the Wolverine controls described here.
Remap buttons step by step
- Open Razer Controller Setup for Xbox. Wait for the connected Wolverine to appear.
- Select the profile you want to change. Assignments are saved to the selected profile, so verify the profile name before editing.
- Choose Edit. This opens the profile’s configurable controls.
- Choose Assign Buttons. The app displays the controls that can receive alternate functions on that model.
- Select the control to change. Choose the physical button or multi-function control whose behavior you want to replace.
- Choose a replacement function. Select the action shown by the app for that control. The new function replaces the previous assignment for the selected profile.
- Select Done. Razer’s workflow uses this confirmation to finish the assignment and save it to the profile.
Test the remap in a game or in the Xbox interface before changing several controls at once. Making one change, testing it, and then moving to the next makes it easier to identify an incorrect assignment.

Disable a multi-function button
Razer’s support instructions include a no-symbol option for supported multi-function buttons. Select the control in Assign Buttons, choose the no symbol instead of another function, and finish with Done. The option is available only for controls that the app identifies as configurable.
Clear every multi-function assignment
To remove all assignments in the current profile, choose Clear All and confirm. This affects the profile being edited, not every profile stored on the controller. If you want to preserve a working layout, switch to or save another profile before clearing.
Restore the default layout
Choose Restore to Default when you want the selected profile to return to its factory button assignments. Confirm the reset, then select Done. A default restore is different from disabling one control: it replaces the profile’s custom assignments with the original layout.

Adjust thumbstick sensitivity when your model supports it
There is no single sensitivity feature shared by every Wolverine. Razer’s Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition product information specifically advertises thumbstick sensitivity adjustment through its dedicated app. Razer’s Wolverine Ultimate FAQ also lists thumbstick sensitivity adjustment. By contrast, the cited Wolverine V2 FAQ documents remapping and trigger-stop controls but does not establish that the same app exposes a thumbstick-sensitivity adjustment for V2.
For a model with the sensitivity feature, open its profile in Razer Controller Setup for Xbox and look for the thumbstick or sensitivity controls alongside the button-layout options. Select the stick setting, make the adjustment, and save the profile using the app’s confirmation control. The exact slider names and range can vary by controller generation, so use the labels displayed for your connected model rather than applying instructions written for another Wolverine.
How sensitivity changes feel in a game
- A higher stick sensitivity generally moves the on-screen view or aim farther for a smaller physical stick movement. It can help with quick turns but may feel harder to control for precise aiming.
- A lower sensitivity generally requires more stick travel for the same camera movement. It can make small adjustments easier but may feel slow during rapid turns.
- Change one stick at a time and test in the game where you use the controller most. A setting that feels comfortable in a menu can feel too fast or too slow during aiming.
These are control effects, not a promise of a particular sensitivity range or performance level. Razer’s published material cited here does not provide a universal numerical range, latency measurement, accuracy test or recommended value for the Wolverine line.

Profiles, saving and offline use
Button assignments and other available controls are stored in the profile you edit. Select the intended profile before making changes, and complete the workflow with Done so the app can save the assignment.

If a profile exists only in an online or otherwise unavailable location, it will not be available while offline. Razer also states that when the app closes, the active profile reverts to the onboard profile. If your layout appears to disappear after closing the app, activate or save the desired layout to onboard storage and select that profile before disconnecting.
Which Wolverine models have which documented controls?
The following table separates app compatibility from feature evidence published for a specific model. “Not stated in the cited FAQ” means the cited material does not establish that feature; it is not a claim that the hardware can never provide it.

The support list confirms that these generations can use Razer Controller Setup for Xbox, but it does not make every feature identical across them. Treat the controls shown after your controller is selected as the authoritative list for that model.
Practical layouts for different games and players
Move a frequently used action to a more reachable button
Choose a control that your thumb or index finger can reach without leaving the stick or trigger position you use most. In Assign Buttons, select that control and assign the action you want. Test the layout with the game paused first, then in a low-risk area of gameplay.

Create a layout for accessibility
Remapping can reduce the need to reach across the controller or repeatedly press a difficult-to-reach button. Start with the one action that causes the greatest difficulty, assign it to a comfortable supported control, and leave the rest of the layout unchanged until the new position feels consistent.

Keep separate profiles for different games
Use one profile for each layout instead of repeatedly overwriting a single profile. Name or organize profiles so that you can identify the game or purpose before selecting Edit. Because assignments are saved to the selected profile, this prevents a layout made for one game from changing another.

The controller does not appear in the app
- Confirm the exact Wolverine model against Razer’s supported-device list. Similar names such as V2, V2 Chroma, V3 Pro and V3 Tournament Edition refer to different variants.
- Reconnect the controller and reopen Razer Controller Setup for Xbox, then check whether the model is detected.
- If the model is not listed as supported, do not expect the Wolverine profile editor or sensitivity controls to appear.
The new button assignment is not active
- Check that you edited the profile currently selected for play.
- Repeat the assignment and select Done. Leaving the editor without completing the confirmation can leave the previous assignment active.
- Remember that closing the app can return the active profile to the controller’s onboard profile. Save or activate the layout you need on the controller before closing the app.
The Xbox button cannot be remapped
Razer’s documented Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition instructions state that the Xbox button is not remappable. This is a model limitation, not an indication that the rest of the profile editor is malfunctioning. Choose another supported control for the alternate action.
There is no sensitivity option
First verify the model. Sensitivity adjustment is explicitly advertised for the Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition and listed for the Wolverine Ultimate, while the cited Wolverine V2 FAQ does not establish the same control. If the app shows button assignment and trigger options but no stick-sensitivity control, the feature may not be provided for that model or firmware/app combination.
Changes work online but not offline
Razer limits offline use to profiles on the controller’s onboard storage. Connect while the app is available, place the required layout on onboard storage, and select that profile before using the controller offline.
When to choose a different Wolverine model
Choose based on the control you actually need, not on the Wolverine name alone. If thumbstick sensitivity adjustment is essential, the Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition is the clearest documented example, and the Wolverine Ultimate also has the adjustment listed in Razer’s FAQ. If you need only button remapping, the supported app workflow covers the documented V2 remapping use case as well. If you need physical trigger stops, the cited V2 FAQ documents that control, while software remapping and sensitivity remain separate features.
Do not infer that one model is faster, more accurate, more durable or better value from these feature descriptions. The cited material does not provide fair measured comparisons of latency, sensitivity ranges, durability or price. Verify the exact model’s current app controls and connection requirements before purchasing.
