To create or join a Palworld guild, load into the same multiplayer world, stand close to the other player, hold the on-screen interact button, and accept the guild prompt. There is no remote-menu invitation: the players must be together in that world or server.
A solo save already gives you a one-person guild. The guild becomes multiplayer when an existing member invites another player and that player accepts.
How Palworld guilds work
A guild is Palworld’s shared multiplayer group. Your solo character is already in a guild containing only you, so there is no separate technology, quest, or research-tree unlock required to start one. In multiplayer, a second player becomes a member only after an existing member sends an invitation through the nearby-player interaction and the recipient confirms it.
The invitation is tied to the current world. Both players must be connected to the same hosted session or dedicated server, and they must be close enough for the interaction prompt to appear. Being friends on a platform, having the same server address, or being in the same voice chat does not create a guild by itself.

Guild membership affects bases, base workers, and guild storage. It does not turn every item and Pal into a shared character inventory; your carried items and active party remain yours.
What to check before inviting or joining
- Same world or server: Both characters must be loaded into the same multiplayer world. A player in a different session cannot receive the nearby-player guild prompt.
- Physical proximity: Move close enough to the other character for the interaction prompt to appear. The game does not provide a dependable remote guild-invite menu.
- Interaction control: Use the button shown on your screen and hold it as instructed. The displayed control can vary by platform and control scheme.
- Guild capacity: Check the host’s member limit and the guild’s available base capacity before moving an established character into it.
- Base ownership: If the joining player already has a Palbox and the destination guild has no free base slot, the join can fail until that existing base is dismantled or relocated.
- Permissions: Decide who may build, use storage, assign base Pals, or change guild settings before depositing rare materials.
How to create a guild in multiplayer
Invite a player into your existing guild
- Start or enter the multiplayer world. Load the world or server in which your character is the current guild member. If you are playing alone, this is the one-person guild that already exists on your save.
- Bring the other player into that same world. Have the player join your hosted session or connect to the same dedicated server. Do not attempt the invitation while one player is still on a different world.
- Stand beside the player. Walk toward the other character until the guild interaction prompt is visible. If the prompt is absent, close the distance and make sure both characters are fully loaded into the same area.
- Hold the displayed interact button. Keep the button held for the interaction rather than looking for a separate social, map, or server menu. The guild action is performed face to face.
- Have the other player accept. The invited player must confirm the on-screen guild request. The membership change is not complete until that confirmation is made.
- Review the new member. Open guild management and check the player’s listed rank and permissions. Confirm that the member can access the bases and storage they are expected to use before beginning shared construction.
There is no additional solo-guild unlock. The meaningful change is the first accepted invitation, which adds another character to the guild and makes the guild’s shared bases and production available to both members.
How to join someone else’s guild
Accept an invitation from a guild member
- Enter the member’s world or server. Join the hosted session or dedicated server where the target guild exists. The guild invitation cannot be completed from your own separate save.
- Meet the inviting player in-game. Travel to the same area and move close enough for the player interaction prompt to appear.
- Trigger the nearby-player interaction. One player sends or initiates the guild request by holding the displayed interact control. If the game shows the request on your screen, select the confirmation shown there.
- Accept the confirmation prompt. Confirm only after checking that the destination player and guild are the intended ones. Declining or closing the prompt leaves your current membership unchanged.
- Check access and rank. Open guild management and verify your rank, building access, and storage access. Ask the guild owner to correct permissions before you move valuable resources or assign important Pals.
If you already established a Palbox in the world, check base capacity first. When the destination guild has no available base slot, the game may reject the join or require you to dismantle or relocate that existing base. Resolve the base-capacity issue before repeatedly sending invitations.
What a guild shares—and what stays private
Guild membership is most useful for coordinated construction and production because the guild’s bases and their contents are communal. Character-bound possessions remain separate, so joining a guild does not automatically hand another player everything you carry.

Because storage and base workers are communal, treat a guild as a cooperation agreement rather than a private chest shared with strangers. Decide who can withdraw scarce materials, alter production queues, or reassign valuable workers before the first large building project.
Guild member and base limits
Capacity depends on the world or server configuration. The figures below distinguish the member limit reported by Palworld Database in 2026 from the base setting documented by the official server documentation, version 1.0.4.

These are guild-wide limits, not a personal allowance for every member. A guild with four base camps already in use cannot gain another simply because a new player joins. Likewise, raising a server’s member limit does not automatically create additional base slots.
World owners should verify the active settings before inviting a large group. A setting shown in a template, hosting panel, or guide may not match the values currently loaded by the world or server.

Why you cannot join a guild
The invitation prompt never appears
The most common cause is that the characters are not actually in the same world instance. Confirm that both players joined the same hosted session or dedicated server, then meet in-game rather than trying to invite from a title screen or external friends list. Move closer until the player interaction appears and hold the displayed button instead of tapping it.
The request is sent but the join is not completed
The recipient must accept the on-screen confirmation. If the prompt is dismissed, times out, or is accepted by the wrong character, repeat the nearby interaction with both players watching for the confirmation. Check guild management afterward; proximity alone does not prove that membership changed.

Compare the number of members with the world or server’s configured maximum. The commonly reported default is 20 members, while Palworld Database lists 100 as the world-setting maximum. If the host is using the default, changing a player’s rank will not create another member slot; the world setting must allow a larger guild.
The guild has no base capacity
A joining player who already has a Palbox can be blocked when the destination guild has used every base slot. Ask the host how many guild bases are active and check the `BaseCampMaxNumInGuild` value. If necessary, the joining player must use the game’s dismantling or relocation process before trying again. Protect valuable buildings and materials by agreeing on the move before making changes.

The players can join the server but cannot see each other
Check the server’s cross-platform configuration. The official server settings expose `CrossplayPlatforms`, which controls which platform groups may connect. A platform-access mismatch can prevent the players from reaching the same playable world, making a guild invitation impossible even when the server address is correct.
The setting appears to have no effect
Confirm that the host edited the active configuration file, not a default template. Dedicated-server documentation distinguishes the live settings file from the template used to generate or document defaults. After changing a setting, use the host’s normal process for reloading the server configuration, then check the value in the running world before inviting more players.

Both arrangements support guild invitations, but they solve different group problems. Choose based on when the world must be available, how many people need access, and who controls the settings.

If the group only plays when one friend is online, a co-op session may be sufficient. If members need to build or produce while that friend is away, a persistent dedicated server is the better arrangement, provided the operator maintains the server and configures capacity correctly.

Changing guild-relevant settings on a dedicated server
Find the active settings file
For a Windows Steam or SteamCMD dedicated installation, the official documentation identifies the active file as Pal/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/PalWorldSettings.ini. Linux installations use the corresponding Linux-server configuration location described in the same documentation. Do not edit the default template when the server is already using a generated or active settings file.

Adjust the base limit
- Stop or otherwise place the dedicated server in the configuration state required by your server manager.
- Open the active
PalWorldSettings.inifile for that installation. - Locate the
BaseCampMaxNumInGuildsetting. - Set a value supported by the game. The official documentation lists 4 as the default and 10 as the maximum.
- Save the active file and use the server’s normal reload or restart procedure so the running world reads the change.
- Reconnect and verify the effective guild-base capacity before inviting players who already have bases.
Changing this value does not move existing structures or automatically solve a full guild. It changes the number of base camps the guild may use after the server loads the setting. The operator should make a backup of the active configuration and communicate the planned limit to members before changing it.
Check cross-platform access
Use the same active configuration to review CrossplayPlatforms. Its value determines which platform groups can connect to the dedicated server. If a player cannot enter the world at all, resolve this access setting before troubleshooting the in-game guild prompt.
Permissions and safe guild coordination
Confirm rank immediately after joining
Guild management shows a member’s rank and permissions. Check it after every accepted invitation because a successful join does not, by itself, confirm that the new member can build at every base or use every storage container. Ask the guild owner to correct the rank before starting shared work.
Separate communal supplies from personal supplies
Guild storage is communal, while your inventory and party Pals remain character-bound. Use clearly agreed storage areas for materials intended for everyone, and keep personal equipment on your character when it should not be withdrawn by another member.
Protect high-value workers and materials
Base-assigned Pals and guild storage are shared. Before assigning a rare worker or depositing an unusual resource, agree on who may reassign it or consume it. This simple rule prevents misunderstandings that the game’s shared-base design cannot resolve automatically.
Plan base slots before recruiting
Because the guild has a finite number of base camps, decide whether a new member will use an existing guild base or need a new one. If the guild is at its limit, recruit first only after confirming that the world setting can be raised or that an existing base will be relocated.
