Use Telangana’s current Bhu Bharati portal, not a generic correction form. Open ROR Corrections → Application for Passbook Data Correction, then choose the service that matches the error: Change of name for a spelling, surname or complete-name problem; Extent Correction for the area shown on the passbook; or Missing Survey number/Sub division Number when the survey reference is absent from the record. Aadhaar authentication, supporting-document upload, payment and eKYC are part of the workflow, and the application is sent to the Tahsildar for further action.
“Bhudhar” and “Dharani” are names many landholders still use for older Telangana records. The current official system is branded Bhu Bharati. The instructions below apply to the online passbook-data correction process and identify what changes when the error is a name, extent or survey-reference issue.
Choose the correction service before you start
The service selection determines the form fields, evidence and review path. Do not submit a name or area problem through the missing-survey option simply because the record is difficult to find.

The Government of Telangana FAQ describes the name route this way: “Pattadar shall apply in Modification Request Application module under Change of name option for Spelling correction in name including Surname and Complete Name Change etc.” For an extent discrepancy, it states: “The citizen has to apply in Modification Request Application module under extent Correction option. The extent will be corrected after verification.”

What to prepare before opening the application
Have the following information available so that you can complete the form in one sitting:
- Your existing passbook number and the pattadar details exactly as they appear in the record.
- Aadhaar details for the authentication method offered by the portal, including access to the mobile phone used for an OTP when OTP authentication is presented.
- A clear copy of the current passbook or other record showing the incorrect entry.
- Documents that establish the correct entry, such as relevant registered documents and revenue records. The live form determines which uploads are requested for your case; read its document list rather than assuming that one universal set applies to every correction.
- A communication address and a phone number you can use for the application.
- Scanned files that are legible, complete and within the file-size and format limits displayed by the application.
For a name correction, make sure the spelling you enter is identical across the evidence you upload. For an extent correction, the records should allow the department to verify the area claimed. For a missing survey or sub-division number, note the exact survey reference you want added and the village, mandal and district in which the land lies.
File a passbook-data correction online
1. Open Bhu Bharati and sign in
Visit the official Telangana Bhu Bharati portal. Sign in with an existing account, or register if you have not used the portal before. Use your own account or an authorised assisted channel and keep the mobile phone needed for authentication nearby.

- From the portal, open ROR Corrections.
- Select Application for Passbook Data Correction.
- Choose New Request.
This path is the modification-request workflow for passbook data. A general enquiry or another mutation service is not a substitute for the correction module.
3. Select the error type
Choose exactly one of the relevant options shown by the form:
- Change of name for a spelling, surname or complete-name correction.
- Extent Correction for an incorrect area or extent.
- Missing Survey number/Sub division Number when the survey reference itself is missing from the current record.
If the survey number is present but the area attached to it is wrong, use Extent Correction. If the number is not present at all, use the missing-survey service.

4. Find the pattadar record
Search for the record using the passbook number when that choice is available. The manual demonstrates a passbook-number search; the live portal may also present other search choices. Check the returned pattadar, village and land details against your documents before continuing. If the result is for a different person or parcel, stop and refine the search rather than correcting the wrong record.

5. Authenticate the Aadhaar details
Enter and validate the Aadhaar number through the authentication method offered on screen. Where OTP authentication is available, request the OTP, enter it before it expires and confirm that the displayed identity details correspond to the applicant. A mismatch should be resolved before submission; do not proceed with another person’s Aadhaar simply to get past validation.
6. Enter contact details and upload evidence
Provide the communication address requested by the form. Upload the documents the selected service asks for, including the existing passbook and the registered or revenue records that establish the correction where applicable. Use the live upload list as the authority because the exact document requirements are form-dependent.
Before moving on, open each uploaded file if the portal provides a preview. A cropped page, unreadable stamp, wrong survey reference or document belonging to another parcel can delay verification even when the application itself is technically submitted.
7. Review and submit
Read the complete application summary. Compare the proposed name, survey or sub-division number, extent, village and applicant details with the source documents. Submit only after the values and uploads are correct. Save the generated application number immediately and download or print the acknowledgement if the portal offers one.
8. Pay and complete eKYC
Pay through the Bhu Bharati portal or use a MeeSeva centre as an assisted channel. Complete eKYC in Bhu Bharati or at MeeSeva. The amount payable is displayed for the selected service during payment; the official material does not establish one universal fixed fee for every correction type. Keep the payment receipt or e-Challan with the application number.

Instructions for each type of correction
Correcting a wrong name
Select Change of name in the Modification Request Application. This option covers:
- A spelling correction, such as a typographical error in the given name.
- A surname correction, including a missing or incorrectly entered family name.
- A complete name change where the supporting records establish the requested name.
Enter the corrected name exactly as it should appear in the record. Check every character, spacing and order of names before submission. Upload the passbook and the documents requested by the form that support the corrected spelling or name. The department reviews the evidence as part of the application; selecting Change of name does not itself approve the change.
Correcting a wrong area or extent
Select Extent Correction when the survey reference is present but the area shown on the passbook is incorrect. State the extent requested by the form and upload the records that allow the department to compare the claimed area with the existing entry.

Verification is an explicit part of this service. The official FAQ says that the extent will be corrected after verification, so a submitted request is not an immediate change to the passbook record. Make sure the uploaded pages show the relevant parcel and measurement details clearly; unrelated deeds or a document for a neighbouring survey number do not establish the extent you are asking to change.
Adding a missing survey or sub-division number
Select Missing Survey number/Sub division Number when the survey reference is absent from the current record rather than merely mistyped. The manual provides a route for applicants who do not have a khata number:
- When the form asks whether you have a khata number, select No if you do not.
- Choose the relevant district, mandal and village.
- Fetch the available record.
- Enter the missing survey or sub-division details.
- Upload the documents requested by the form.
- Review the parcel information and submit the request.
If a survey number is already displayed and only the associated area is wrong, return to Extent Correction instead. The missing-survey service is intended to add an absent survey reference.

What happens after submission
Department review
After payment and eKYC, the application moves to the Tahsildar for further action under the normal data-correction workflow. The office may examine the uploaded records and, for an extent request, verify the claimed area before changing the record.

Processing time and fee
The official material reviewed for this procedure does not promise a universal processing-time service-level agreement or a single fixed fee. The portal shows the payable amount for the selected service during payment. Treat any time estimate from an unofficial source as an estimate rather than a guaranteed deadline.
Keep a complete follow-up file
Store these items together:
- Application number.
- Payment receipt or e-Challan.
- Copy of the submitted form and acknowledgement.
- Every document uploaded, in the same version and order used in the application.
- Notes of any visit or communication with a MeeSeva centre or department office.
These records let staff locate the request and let you demonstrate exactly what was submitted if a document must be re-uploaded or a clarification is requested.
Using MeeSeva as an assisted channel

Tell the operator that you need the Bhu Bharati passbook-data correction workflow and specify the service—Change of name, Extent Correction or Missing Survey number/Sub division Number—before the request is created. The wrong service was selected
If you notice the mistake before payment, return to the service-selection step and start a new request with the correct option. Do not try to describe an extent correction as a missing survey number or vice versa. If payment has already been made, keep the receipt and application number and ask Bhu Bharati or MeeSeva how that submitted request can be handled; do not create multiple paid requests unless the department tells you to.

The record cannot be found by passbook number
Check each digit, remove accidental spaces and confirm that you selected the correct search option. Compare the district, mandal and village displayed by the portal with the passbook. If you do not have a khata number for the missing-survey service, use the documented No route and select the administrative area to fetch the record.
OTP or Aadhaar validation fails
Confirm that the entered Aadhaar number is correct and that the phone can receive messages. Request a fresh OTP if the previous one expired. If the details displayed after validation do not match the applicant, stop and correct the identity issue before uploading documents or paying.
An upload is rejected or unreadable
Use the file type and size shown by the portal, scan the complete page at a readable resolution and upload the page that contains the name, survey reference or extent needed for the correction. Do not substitute a photograph of an unrelated page merely because it meets the file-size limit.
The extent has not changed immediately
This is expected for an extent request: the official FAQ requires verification before correction. Check the application status using the saved application number and respond if the department asks for clarification. Avoid filing a second request for the same parcel while the first is under review unless instructed.
You need help locating a submitted request
Have the application number, payment receipt and identity details ready when contacting support or visiting MeeSeva. The Bhu Bharati home page lists +91 40-29313999 for assistance or inquiries, with hours shown as 10 AM–5 PM.
A practical pre-submission checklist
- Correct module opened: ROR Corrections → Application for Passbook Data Correction.
- Correct option selected: Change of name, Extent Correction, or Missing Survey number/Sub division Number.
- Returned record matches the pattadar, village and parcel.
- Corrected value has been checked character by character or number by number.
- Aadhaar authentication has completed for the applicant.
- Communication address is complete.
- All documents requested by the live form are legible and belong to the same parcel.
- Application number has been saved.
- Payment receipt or e-Challan has been saved.
- eKYC has been completed in Bhu Bharati or through MeeSeva.
Key points to remember
Telangana’s current platform is Bhu Bharati, even though older terminology such as Bhudhar or Dharani remains common. A wrong name belongs in Change of name; a wrong area belongs in Extent Correction; and an absent survey or sub-division reference belongs in Missing Survey number/Sub division Number. Submit through the passbook-data correction workflow, preserve the application and payment records, and allow the Tahsildar-led verification process to run—especially for extent corrections.
