Connect XREAL One Pro+ glasses directly with the included USB-C cable only when the source port carries DisplayPort video and supplies power. XREAL specifies DP video output and 5V/1A power. iPhone 15 and later USB-C models can use the direct connection, although XREAL’s March 3, 2025 guide excludes iPhone 16e. Android devices need USB-C DisplayPort output, and USB-C laptops need a video-capable port. An HDMI-only computer requires a compatible HDMI-to-USB-C video adapter and HDMI-to-USB cable.
What the glasses require
The cable performs two jobs: it carries the display signal and powers the glasses. XREAL One-series glasses have no built-in battery, so the connected phone, tablet, computer, hub or adapter must provide power. XREAL specifies a source that supports the DisplayPort (DP) video-output protocol and provides 5V/1A.
A USB-C connector alone is not enough. Some USB-C ports support charging and data only; those ports cannot send an image to the glasses. Look for terminology such as DisplayPort Alt Mode, DP-in/DP-out, USB-C video or Thunderbolt video in the device specifications. If the specification is unclear, XREAL recommends confirming the capability with the device manufacturer.

| Source | Direct connection | Extra hardware | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| iPhone 15 and later USB-C models | Connect the included USB-C cable to the phone and glasses | None for the direct path | XREAL’s March 3, 2025 guide explicitly excludes iPhone 16e; the phone supplies power and its battery will drain |
| Android phone or tablet with USB-C DP output | Connect the included USB-C cable | An XREAL Hub if you need to charge the device while viewing | DisplayPort Alt Mode is required |
| USB-C laptop with DP output | Connect the included USB-C cable | None for the direct path | The port must carry both video and power |
| HDMI-only laptop or computer | Use a video-conversion setup rather than a passive cable | HDMI-to-USB-C adapter plus HDMI-to-USB cable; a powered adapter or hub may also be required | A USB-C charging-only port will not carry the video signal |
The table describes the connection routes identified in XREAL’s device-connection guidance. A particular phone or laptop can still differ by regional model, port and firmware, so check the manufacturer’s specifications before buying an adapter.

Prepare the cable and source
- Identify the video-capable port. Check the phone, tablet or laptop manual for DP Alt Mode, USB-C video or Thunderbolt video. Do not assume that every USB-C socket has the feature.
- Use a full-function USB-C connection. The direct path needs a cable and port capable of carrying DisplayPort video and power. The included cable is the starting point; if you replace it, choose a USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode cable rather than a charge-only cable.
- Charge the source first. The glasses draw power from the connected device. Starting with a low phone or laptop charge can make a successful display session brief.
- Connect the glasses at the source end. Seat the USB-C plug fully in the glasses and in the source’s DP-capable port. A loose connection can interrupt both the image and power because the same cable carries both.
- Wait for the external display. Once the source recognizes the glasses, the phone or computer should route the picture to them. If the picture is missing, use the troubleshooting steps below instead of repeatedly forcing the connector.
Connect to an iPhone
iPhone 15 and later USB-C models
XREAL’s March 3, 2025 guide states that iPhone 15 and later USB-C iPhone models connect directly. Plug the included USB-C cable into the iPhone’s USB-C port and the glasses. No separate video adapter is needed for this direct route, but the iPhone is the power source, so viewing consumes phone battery.
The same guide explicitly lists iPhone 16e as excluded. Treat that model as unsupported by the documented direct path unless XREAL or Apple publishes updated compatibility information; do not infer compatibility merely from the presence of USB-C.
Lightning iPhones
A Lightning iPhone cannot use the direct USB-C route. It needs a separately powered video-adapter solution. Before purchasing, verify that the adapter is designed to output video for the glasses and that it has the required power input. A Lightning charging adapter that lacks video conversion will not create a display signal.
Extend an iPhone session
For supported USB-C iPhones, the phone still powers the glasses during direct use. XREAL recommends its XREAL Hub when you need simultaneous charging and glasses use, particularly for extended phone sessions. Connect the hub according to its labeling, provide power to the hub, and connect the glasses and iPhone through the hub’s appropriate ports.

Connect to an Android phone or tablet
Verify DP Alt Mode
Android compatibility depends on video output, not simply on the Android version or the shape of the connector. The phone or tablet must have a USB-C port with DisplayPort output. Check the manufacturer’s specification for “DP Alt Mode,” “DisplayPort over USB-C” or equivalent wording.
Make the direct connection
- Fully charge the Android device, especially if you plan to watch for several hours.
- Connect the included USB-C cable to the Android device’s DP-capable USB-C port.
- Connect the other end to the glasses and wait for the external-display connection.
- If the device presents a display or desktop-mode choice, select the mode you want. Desktop-mode Android is relevant to the UltraWide feature described in XREAL’s compatibility table.
The glasses draw power from the Android phone or tablet. XREAL’s user guide gives an expected 4–6 hours of normal viewing from a fully charged Android phone or tablet; actual runtime varies with the device, battery condition, brightness, applications and other phone use.
Charge while viewing
Direct connection uses the phone’s USB-C port for the glasses, leaving no ordinary charging connection on that port. Use an XREAL Hub for simultaneous charging and glasses use. Supply power to the hub as specified by its instructions, then connect the phone and glasses to the hub’s designated ports.

Connect to a laptop
USB-C laptop with DisplayPort output
A laptop can connect directly when its USB-C port supports DP video and supplies power. Plug the included cable into that port and the glasses. Some laptops have several USB-C sockets with different capabilities, so test the port identified for display output rather than choosing by location alone.

- 【Dual-screen co-op made simple】this Switch 2 dock lets two players wear AR glasses at once while the main handheld screen stays free for maps or guides. perfect for local co-op, travel splitscreen, and shared AR entertainment—no base station to carry.
- 【True Dual USB-C display hub】turn one upstream port into two for up to dual 4K@60Hz, mirror or extend to AR glasses, portable monitors, or projectors via its dedicated USB-C ports. plug-and-play; note macOS and some mobile hosts mirror only.
- 【Charge, display & transfer at once】runs 4K video, 100W PD charging and 5Gbps data at the same time through the hub. note: an active PD source is required when connecting handheld consoles or phones to external screens. for best stability, high-draw monitors should stay self-powered so the host charges continuously while screens stay on.
- Wide Compatibility & Notes: Works with input devices (Switch 2, laptops, tablets, phones) and output devices (AR glasses, portable monitors, Studio Display – video only). Connect two AR glasses, two portable monitors, or a mix for dual-screen or mirrored display. Use full-feature USB-C cables for stable video. Ideal for travel gaming, hybrid work, and on-the-go productivity.
- 【USB-C to AR glasses adapter】negotiates video, audio and charging natively over DP Alt Mode for instant sync with AR and XR glasses. match two identical pairs for true dual-audio—always charging while you play, nothing to toggle.
After the image appears, open the operating system’s display settings if you need to mirror the built-in panel, extend the desktop or change which screen is primary. Those display-layout choices are controlled by the laptop; the physical connection requirement remains a DP-capable, powered USB-C port.
HDMI-only laptop
HDMI cannot be connected to the glasses with a passive HDMI-to-USB-C cable. XREAL specifies an HDMI adapter and an HDMI-to-USB cable for HDMI computers. The adapter must convert the HDMI video signal to the USB-C display format expected by the glasses, and its power requirements must be met.
- Connect the HDMI cable from the laptop’s HDMI output to the HDMI input on the video adapter.
- Connect the adapter’s USB-C glasses output to the glasses with the required HDMI-to-USB cable or the cable specified for that adapter.
- Attach the adapter’s power input or powered hub connection when the adapter requires external power. HDMI-only computers generally cannot power the glasses through the HDMI signal.
- Select the correct HDMI display output on the laptop and then choose XREAL One/Pro as the audio output if the computer does not switch automatically.
Adapter designs differ. Confirm before purchase that the product supports video conversion to USB-C glasses, not just USB-C charging or data, and that it accepts the adapter’s stated power source.
Set up audio and display behavior
Audio
XREAL’s guide says mobile devices automatically use the glasses’ audio when connected. On a computer, open the operating system’s sound or audio-output list and select XREAL One/Pro. If the picture works but sound remains on the laptop’s speakers, the output selection is the first setting to check.

Supports 4K 60Hz and 1080P 120Hz output(Note: It's compatibility not enhancement, your device needs to have such high performance), fits Rokid, Xreal, RayNeo and Viture series AR glasses.
- SMARTPHONE USAGE REMINDER: Verify your phone’s Type-C port supports DisplayPort video output before purchase. Due to the limited compatibility of the MINI chip in the HUB when iPhone 15 to 17 series paired with some AR glasses may show screen flicker. We recommend that users of iPhone 15 to 17 series purchase our higher-compatibility updated hubs. Search for ASIN B0G59TSXFP or B0GD1WS14Q on Amazon.
- AR GLASSES USAGE REMINDER: For no sound or no video issues on Xreal AR glasses, switch the glasses to DisplayPort Alt Mode following the official manual, not for HDMI-only devices like PS4, PS5 and Xbox, search ASIN B0DSZXZSTX for our dedicated HDMI to USB-C hub, do not use two hubs together.
- Viture Beast AR GLASSES USAGE REMINDER: Please do not update Viture Beast to a system version released after June 2026, as this may cause the HUB to be incompatible with Viture Beast. If you have already upgraded, please roll back the system to the May version (0.01.024_20260521).
Spatial-display controls
XREAL’s compatibility table lists these controls across its phone and computer categories: Anchor, Follow, electrochromic dimming, screen-size and distance adjustment, 3D, stabilizer, side view and color-temperature controls. Availability can depend on the source category and operating mode.
| Source mode | UltraWide status in XREAL’s compatibility table | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone | Unavailable | Use the other listed display controls supported by the connected setup |
| Android without desktop mode | Unavailable | Switching to a supported desktop mode changes the category |
| Android with desktop mode | Available | Confirm that the phone and its desktop mode are supported |
| Windows | Available | Use the computer’s display settings together with the glasses controls |
| MacBook | Available | Use the Mac display settings together with the glasses controls |
The UltraWide entries describe the categories in XREAL’s compatibility table; they do not guarantee that every phone, desktop mode, application or software version exposes every control.

No image at all
- Confirm that the source port supports DP Alt Mode or another documented DP video-output method. A charging-only USB-C port cannot work.
- Unplug and firmly reseat both ends of the cable.
- Try another known-good DP-capable source. This separates a source-port problem from a glasses or cable problem.
- For HDMI, check that the adapter is a video converter for USB-C glasses and that its external power is connected when required.
The glasses turn off
Because the cable is also the power path, an intermittent connection or an underpowered adapter can remove both power and video. Reseat the cable, test the source’s other DP-capable port if it has one, or add an appropriately powered hub. With an HDMI setup, verify the converter’s power input rather than assuming the laptop’s HDMI port can power the glasses.

HDMI setup fails
- Check the signal direction: HDMI output from the computer must enter the adapter’s HDMI input.
- Verify that the adapter converts video to the USB-C output required by the glasses; a passive cable is insufficient.
- Connect every required power lead and use a powered adapter or hub when specified.
- Test the HDMI source and adapter separately with another known-good display if possible, then reconnect the glasses.
Video works but computer audio is silent
Open the computer’s audio-output selector and choose XREAL One/Pro. The video connection does not always change the computer’s active audio device automatically.
The setup works briefly and then stops
Check the source battery level and all power connections. Mobile devices can stop powering the glasses as their battery falls, while HDMI converters can shut down if their external power is missing or insufficient. Reconnect the cable and test with a fully charged source or correctly powered hub.
Choose the right connection for your situation
- USB-C iPhone 15 or later: use the direct cable path, except that XREAL’s cited guide excludes iPhone 16e.
- Android phone or tablet: confirm DP Alt Mode first; add an XREAL Hub if charging during use matters.
- USB-C laptop: use the direct cable only on a port documented for DP video and power.
- HDMI-only laptop: buy a powered, video-capable HDMI-to-USB-C conversion setup and the required HDMI-to-USB cable.
- Any uncertain device: verify the exact model’s port specification with its manufacturer before purchasing accessories.
Final connection checklist
- Is the source port documented for DisplayPort video output?
- Can that port or adapter provide the required power?
- Are both cable ends fully seated?
- If using HDMI, is the adapter a powered video converter rather than a passive cable?
- For a phone, is enough battery available, or is an XREAL Hub connected for charging?
- On a computer, is XREAL One/Pro selected as the audio output?
If all six checks pass, the direct setup should be straightforward: the source sends DP video, the same connection powers the glasses, and the operating system handles the image and audio destination.
