You can connect two JBL PartyBox speakers wirelessly, but the result depends on the exact models. Two matching models are the normal route to TWS (True Wireless Stereo), where one speaker plays the left channel and the other the right. Some approved mixed-model combinations can link in Party mode, but JBL says mixed models cannot use Stereo mode. Before pressing any buttons, read both model names, update their firmware where applicable, and check JBL’s current compatibility list.
The button sequence is not universal: some PartyBoxes use a dedicated TWS button, while others pair by holding Bluetooth. Newer models also document Auracast connections. The instructions below separate each case so you do not accidentally create a one-channel, incompatible, or partially connected setup.
What you can connect—and which mode you will get
JBL does not publish one compatibility rule for the entire PartyBox family. The safest assumption is that two identical PartyBox models can pair in TWS. JBL lists a small number of exceptions and a separate list for mixed-model Party mode. Confirm the exact model names, not just the product family name, before buying a second speaker or troubleshooting.

Choose Stereo, Party, wired, or Auracast
TWS Stereo mode
Use TWS Stereo when you have two matching speakers, or a specifically documented TWS exception. The pair divides the Bluetooth music signal into left and right channels. On a PartyBox 110, the speaker connected to the Bluetooth source is the primary speaker and defaults to the left channel; the second speaker is the secondary right channel.
Mixed-model Party mode
Party mode is the practical choice for the mixed-model group JBL lists as app-compatible: PartyBox 110, 120, 310, 320, 710, Encore, and Encore Essential. It lets the speakers play together without creating a left/right stereo pair. JBL states that a mixed-model pair cannot use Stereo mode, even when both speakers are in the supported Party-mode group.
Wired linking
A cable can be the answer when models cannot form a wireless pair, or when you need a microphone or instrument to be heard from both speakers. Connector names and outputs vary. Depending on the model, JBL describes RCA, AUX, or daisy-chain connections; check the port labels and each manual before purchasing a cable.

Auracast on newer models
The PartyBox Club 120 and PartyBox Stage 320 documentation describes Auracast-enabled multi-speaker connections and stereo pairing of two speakers. Auracast is not a family-wide guarantee. JBL’s Stage 320 release notes identify software version 2.0.0, dated July 3, 2024, as adding connection support with specified earlier models (PartyBox 710, 310, 110, Encore, and Encore Essential). Check the installed firmware and the current support page instead of inferring that another PartyBox has the same capability.
Prepare both PartyBoxes before pairing
- Read the model labels. Record the complete name of each speaker, including suffixes such as Essential or Club 120. Do not rely on appearance alone.
- Charge or power both units. Keep the speakers close together during setup and remove other nearby Bluetooth devices that might reconnect automatically.
- Update firmware where JBL provides an update. Firmware can change compatibility and connection behavior. The Stage 320 release notes, for example, document a specific connection change in version 2.0.0.
- Disconnect old TWS or Party links. If a speaker is still linked to a previous partner, turn that connection off according to its manual before starting a new pair.
- Decide the required outcome. Matching models normally call for Stereo; an approved mixed-model pair calls for Party mode; a shared microphone or instrument may require a cable even when music pairs wirelessly.
How to pair two matching PartyBoxes in TWS
PartyBox 110: the dedicated TWS procedure
The PartyBox 110 manual says, “You can connect two PARTYBOX speakers to each other via TWS mode.” Use this sequence:
Rank #2
- Powerful JBL Pro Sound: Two 6.5" woofers that deliver clean, precise, deep bass even at top volume and a pair of 25mm dome tweeters that produce crystal clear highs. Loud enough to fill a space the size of a tennis court with music.
- Futuristic lightshow: Take all that sound and add a thrilling lightshow featuring starry lights, cool light trails, and strobe light effects—all synced to your beat.
- Up to 18 hours of play time: Party from dusk till dawn with up to 18 hours on a single charge. Not enough? Swap out the replaceable battery and keep on dancing. 10 min fast charge gets you an extra 2 hours of playtime.Replaceable battery sold separately
- Telescopic handle and wide, sturdy wheels: Roll up to the party with wide, sturdy wheels and an easy-to-grip handle that telescopes up when you need it and down when you don't.
- Splash proof: Whether you're partying with friends in the park or by the seaside, the JBL PartyBox Stage 320 is IPX4 splashproof, means a little rain won't stop the fun.
- Turn on both PartyBox 110 speakers and place them near each other.
- Connect your phone or other Bluetooth source to the speaker you want to be primary.
- Press the TWS button on both speakers.
- Wait for the TWS confirmation. The Bluetooth-connected speaker is the primary left-channel speaker by default; the other is the secondary right-channel speaker.
- Play music and test both channels. If the physical placement is reversed, use the speaker controls to assign the desired left/right arrangement where supported.
To leave TWS on the 110, power off a speaker or press TWS on either speaker. The complete instructions, including AUX daisy chaining, are in JBL’s PartyBox 110 Owner’s Manual, version 5.
Models that use a Bluetooth-button hold
JBL’s broader support guidance uses a different control on some PartyBox families:
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →- Turn on both speakers and keep them within short range.
- On the first speaker, press and hold the Bluetooth button until the notification chime sounds.
- Within the interval described by the speaker’s manual, press and hold Bluetooth on the second speaker until it also chimes.
- Wait for the TWS link, then start playback from the phone connected to the primary speaker.
Do not substitute this sequence for a model that has a dedicated TWS button. JBL specifically identifies dedicated TWS controls for some models, and the control method varies by family.
Use the PartyBox app when supported
For supported speakers, JBL says the PartyBox app can activate or deactivate TWS remotely. Pair the phone with the primary speaker first, open the current PartyBox app, select the speaker controls, and use the TWS option shown for your model. If TWS is not displayed, use the physical-button procedure in the manual; app menus are not evidence that an unsupported model combination will work.
Set left and right channels correctly
After a successful pair, channel assignment matters as much as the connection itself. JBL describes L/R controls on the rear of the PartyBox 200, 300, and 1000. On those models, adjust the channel switches after pairing so the speaker on the left side of the room receives the left channel and the speaker on the right receives the right channel.

- Switch tracks, change up the light show, control karaoke features and more all from your phone with the partybox app.
The PartyBox 110 has a defined default: the unit connected to the Bluetooth source is primary and left, and the other unit is secondary and right. If you want the opposite physical layout, either swap the speaker positions or use the model’s documented L/R control. A mono or centered recording may not make a reversed pair obvious, so test with music that has clearly separated left and right elements.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Pair approved mixed models in Party mode
For a mixed pair, first verify that both models are in JBL’s current app-compatible list: PartyBox 110, 120, 310, 320, 710, Encore, or Encore Essential. JBL says this wireless mixed-model arrangement is limited to two speakers and operates in Party mode only.
- Check the exact model names and update both speakers if an update is available.
- Turn on both speakers and disconnect them from any earlier TWS or Party link.
- Connect the phone to one speaker over Bluetooth.
- Open the PartyBox app if your models support it and choose the option to add or connect another speaker in Party mode.
- Follow the on-screen pairing prompt, or use the model-specific Bluetooth/TWS button sequence JBL gives for the speakers.
- Start music and confirm that both speakers reproduce it. Do not look for a left/right Stereo control: JBL says Stereo mode is not available for different models.
Some JBL support material separately describes a 200/300 pairing and newer mixed-model Party connections. Treat those as distinct documented cases, not as permission to combine any two generations. If the app refuses the second speaker, stop retrying and verify the pair against JBL’s current model list.
Use a wired connection when wireless pairing is not suitable
Different models that cannot pair wirelessly
JBL describes wired connections between different PartyBox models, including examples such as PartyBox 310 and PartyBox 100. A typical arrangement sends the source speaker’s output to an input on the second speaker. The exact socket may be labeled RCA OUT, AUX OUT, daisy chain, or something else, and the receiving speaker may require AUX or RCA input.
- Turn both speakers off before connecting the cable.
- Confirm the source output and destination input types in both manuals.
- Connect the source speaker’s output to the secondary speaker’s compatible input using the correct cable.
- Turn on the secondary speaker first, then the source speaker, and select the appropriate input on the secondary unit.
- Connect the phone or playback device to the source speaker and raise volume gradually.
Never force a connector or assume that two sockets with similar shapes have the same function. The manuals are the authority for signal direction and maximum level.

- Superior JBL Pro Sound: We’re cranking out 800 watts of JBL Pro Sound—loud, clean, and full of deep bass from those two massive 9” woofers. The tweeters keep the highs crisp and clear, so every track hits just right and the dance floor stays packed.
- Futuristic lightshow: Mix all that epic sound with a lightshow to match—vibrant stars, flowing trails, and strobes that move with the beat. It’s a full-on vibe.
- Up to 15 hours playtime: Keep the music going for up to 15 hours on a single charge. Need more juice? Swap in the backup batteries (sold separately) and keep it moving. Just need a quick boost? A 10-minute fast charge gets you up to 2 extra hours of playtime.
- Ergonomic integrated handle and wider sturdy wheels: Taking the party outside just got easier—wider wheels roll smooth on rough ground, and the built-in handle makes it easy to grab and go.
- IPX4 Splash proof: Whether we’re hanging in the park or chilling by the pool, the PartyBox 720 is IPX4 splash proof—so a little water is no big deal.
Microphones and instruments
A live input behaves differently from Bluetooth music. JBL says a microphone or instrument connected to one speaker while the speakers are in TWS is heard from that speaker alone. TWS does not automatically mirror that input to the other unit.
To distribute the live input, JBL describes connecting the source speaker’s RCA, AUX, or daisy-chain output to a suitable input on the secondary speaker, or using a small mixer and wired speaker connections. Confirm that the chosen PartyBox exposes the required output and that the second unit accepts the signal. Test the microphone or instrument at low volume to avoid feedback.

The PartyBox Club 120 manual describes connecting two or more PartyBox speakers and identifies the Bluetooth-connected speaker as primary by default. The Club 120 and Stage 320 specification sheets describe Auracast support and stereo pairing of two speakers:
Auracast is a separate wireless capability from the older TWS button workflow. Use the pairing controls named in the Club 120 or Stage 320 manual, and do not expect a PartyBox 110, 200, or another model to expose Auracast simply because a newer speaker does. For Stage 320 firmware history, see JBL’s software update release listing, which identifies version 2.0.0 on July 3, 2024.
Troubleshoot a failed or unstable connection
The speakers never find each other
- Recheck the full model names; a visually similar but unsupported combination will not pair.
- Forget the old Bluetooth connection on the phone, power-cycle both speakers, and retry with only the intended source device nearby.
- Use the dedicated TWS button if the model has one; use Bluetooth-button holds only where JBL documents them.
- Install available firmware updates and retry after both speakers restart.
Both speakers play, but Stereo is unavailable
This is expected for a supported mixed-model pair. JBL limits that arrangement to Party mode. Stereo controls should appear only for a matching-model TWS pair or another explicitly documented stereo-capable arrangement.
Quick Recap
Sound comes from only one speaker
- Wait for the TWS or Party confirmation chime before pressing play.
- Check that the second speaker is not muted, at minimum volume, or set to a different input.
- For a wired setup, verify signal direction: output on the source speaker must feed an input on the secondary speaker.
- For a microphone or instrument, remember that TWS alone keeps that live input on the speaker it is plugged into; add the documented wired route or mixer.
The pair disconnects during playback
- Keep the speakers close during initial pairing and remove competing Bluetooth devices.
- Ensure both units have adequate charge or stable AC power.
- Check that both speakers run compatible firmware, especially when combining newer and older models.
- If wireless remains unreliable, use a supported wired connection.
Quick decision checklist
- Same model? Start with TWS and expect Stereo.
- PartyBox 200 plus 300, or On-The-Go plus On-The-Go Essential? These are JBL-listed TWS exceptions; follow their specific instructions.
- Mixed 110/120/310/320/710/Encore family? Confirm the current app-compatible list and use Party mode, not Stereo.
- Unsupported wireless combination? Investigate a compatible RCA, AUX, or daisy-chain route.
- Microphone or instrument needed from both speakers? Plan a wired output, input, or mixer path; TWS music pairing alone is insufficient.
- Club 120 or Stage 320? Check Auracast instructions and firmware rather than assuming the older TWS workflow applies.
