To join a Path of Titans server by address, open Multiplayer, choose Community Servers, select Direct Connect, enter the server IP and game port exactly as your host displays them, and choose Connect. If the server requires mods, approve the download or installation prompt to continue. The default game port is commonly 7777, but the port shown in the host’s control panel is authoritative.
What you need before connecting
Have these details ready before opening the game:
- Server IP address: the numeric address supplied by the server owner or hosting panel.
- Game port: the port paired with the address. Hosts normally display the complete value as
IP:Port. - A running server: a correct address cannot connect if the instance is stopped, restarting, or not yet ready to accept players.
- Required mods: some community servers use mods and will ask you to confirm before joining.
Copy the address from the host’s Connection Info panel instead of relying on a remembered port. A server can use a non-default port, and entering a different port sends your connection to the wrong service or nowhere at all.

1. Copy the server address
Sign in to the server host’s control panel and open the page labeled Connection Info, or the equivalent connection-details page. Copy the IP and port exactly as shown. If the panel displays a value such as IP:Port, treat the part before the colon as the IP address and the part after the colon as the game port.
Do not add a web address prefix, spaces, quotation marks, or a second colon. The game’s direct-connect field expects the server address and port, not a control-panel URL. If your host provides separate fields, copy each value into its matching field.

2. Open the Community Servers menu
- Launch Path of Titans.
- Choose Multiplayer from the main menu.
- Open Community Servers.
- Select Direct Connect.
This route is also the normal fallback when the server does not appear in the public server browser.
3. Enter the IP and port
In the field labeled Server IP for direct connect, enter the IP address and game port from the host. Use the exact format accepted by your game build; hosting guides describe entering the IP and port and then choosing Direct Connect or Connect.

Check every character before submitting. A missing digit, an extra space, or a port copied from a different server is enough to produce a timeout or connection failure. If your provider lists several ports, use the one identified as the game or connection port, not the RCON, statistics, query, or reserved port.
4. Accept the mod prompt when required
If the server uses mods, Path of Titans prompts you for confirmation before continuing. Choose the confirmation option only if you want to install or load the server’s required content. Declining the prompt prevents the join attempt from completing.

Allow the mod process to finish before trying the address again. Repeatedly cancelling can leave you at the menu even though the IP and port are correct.
5. Confirm that you joined the intended server
After the connection succeeds, verify that the server name, rules, map or world information, and available characters match what the owner described. If the game returns you to the menu without a clear error, repeat the connection using the address copied directly from the current control panel and ask the owner whether the server was restarted or moved.

The commonly cited default game port is 7777. A hosting wiki documents the startup option -Port=7777 and says the server uses port 7777 when that option is omitted. That is a default, not a guarantee for every hosted instance. Always prefer the port shown in your provider’s connection information.
Some hosting documentation describes a five-port layout. Only the game port is needed in the client’s Direct Connect field; the other services are for server functions.

Port assignments can differ between providers, containers, and custom server configurations. If the panel shows a game port other than 7777, use that value even when other guides describe 7777 as the default.
TCP or UDP: what should be open?
Published hosting instructions do not agree completely on protocol assignments. One description identifies the game port as UDP and the reserved port as TCP. A container example maps 7777/udp, 7778/tcp, and 7780/tcp. Another port-forwarding guide lists ports 7777 through 7781 for both TCP and UDP.

If you administer the router or firewall and direct connection fails, the practical advice in the hosting instructions is to permit both TCP and UDP for ports 7777–7781, then narrow the rules after confirming the server’s documented mapping.
Do not assume that opening a port on the server alone is sufficient. A connection can be blocked by the host firewall, the network router, or both. The owner should check each layer using the exact ports assigned to that instance.

When the server is missing from the browser
A server does not have to appear in the Community Servers browser for you to try joining it. Direct Connect is the documented fallback: obtain the address from the owner, open the Direct Connect screen, and enter the IP and game port manually.
Server-list visibility and direct connectivity are separate checks. A listing problem can exist even when the game service is running, while a direct-connect failure generally points to an incorrect address or port, an offline server, or blocked network traffic.
One hosting source claims that browser visibility depends on a valid authentication token and all five ports being open. That condition is not independently confirmed, so treat it as a host-side possibility rather than a guaranteed rule. Ask the owner to verify the token and port configuration if the server is absent from the browser and Direct Connect also fails.

“Invalid address” or an immediate rejection
- Re-copy the IP and port from the current Connection Info page.
- Remove spaces, quotation marks, and any accidental prefix.
- Confirm that you entered the game port, not 7778, 7779, 7780, or 7781.
- Ask whether the host changed the port after a restart or migration.
The attempt times out
A timeout usually means the game cannot reach a listening service at the supplied address. Have the owner confirm that the server is running and that the game port is open on the server firewall and network router. If the owner is using the common layout, the game port may be 7777, but the panel’s value remains authoritative.

Where protocol configuration is unclear, the host should check both TCP and UDP rules for the assigned ports. Hosting instructions differ on whether individual services use one protocol or both, so matching the provider’s exact mapping is preferable to copying a generic rule.
The server was online but is now unreachable
Check whether the instance is restarting, stopped, or being updated. Then copy a fresh address from the panel. A changed public IP or reassigned port makes an older bookmark or chat message unusable even though the server name is unchanged.
The game asks for mods and then returns to the menu
Retry the connection and accept the mod prompt if you intend to join that server. If you decline, the game cannot continue to a server that requires those files. If you accepted but the join still fails, have the owner confirm that the server is running the advertised mod set and that the connection address has not changed.
The server is not listed and Direct Connect also fails
- Verify the server status in the host panel.
- Verify the IP and game port character by character.
- Ask the owner to confirm the game port and all required port-forwarding rules.
- Check the firewall and router rules for the applicable TCP and UDP protocols.
- Ask the owner to check any authentication-token requirement associated with browser listing.
- Try again after the owner confirms that the service is listening.
If those checks do not resolve the issue, the owner—not the joining player—usually needs to inspect the host logs and network configuration, because the client cannot repair a stopped server or a closed inbound port.
What server owners should give players
A reliable connection message should include the complete value from the hosting panel, not just a server name. Give players:
- The public IP address.
- The game port, clearly labeled as the player connection port.
- Whether the server requires mods.
- Any maintenance or restart window that could make the address temporarily unavailable.
If the host uses a nonstandard port, state it prominently. Saying only “the default is 7777” can send players to the wrong service when the instance has been configured differently.
