Connect the MoGo 4 to Wi‑Fi from the remote’s Settings → Wi‑Fi shortcut. To send projector sound to Bluetooth headphones or a speaker, use All Settings → Remote & Accessories → Pair accessory. To send music from a phone to the projector, first put the projector in Atmosphere speaker mode, then select it in the phone’s Bluetooth menu. For streaming, use the projector’s built-in Google TV or Google Cast; an external streaming stick connects to the single HDMI input and may need its own power adapter because the projector’s USB output is limited to 5V/500mA.

Choose the connection you actually need

The MoGo 4 supports several different connection jobs, and each uses a different menu or port. Decide whether the projector should receive internet access, send audio outward, receive audio from a phone, or run apps from another device.

Goal Use Where to start Important limitation
Run apps directly on the projector Built-in Google TV over Wi‑Fi Connect the projector to your wireless network An external stick is unnecessary when the apps you need are available in Google TV.
Send a movie or song from a phone app Google Cast Open a supported casting app and select the MoGo 4 series XGIMI documents casting from supported apps, not universal screen mirroring.
Play projector audio through headphones or a speaker Bluetooth accessory pairing All Settings → Remote & Accessories → Pair accessory This is projector-to-accessory pairing; it is different from using the projector as a phone speaker.
Play phone music through the projector Atmosphere speaker mode Enter Atmosphere speaker mode, then search from the phone’s Bluetooth settings Ambient Light Mode supports Bluetooth music only and does not support projector music.
Add apps or use a preferred external interface Streaming stick through HDMI Connect the stick to the projector’s HDMI input The USB 2.0 output supplies 5V/500mA; a separate power supply may be required.

Check the MoGo 4’s connection capabilities first

XGIMI lists dual-band Wi‑Fi 5 support on the MoGo 4: 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks using 802.11a/b/g/n/ac. The manufacturer cautions that actual network speed depends on conditions such as the network itself and the environment, so the specification is not a promise of a particular speed or range.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For Bluetooth, XGIMI lists Bluetooth 5.1 with Bluetooth Low Energy support. Its support documentation says the projector can search for and connect to Bluetooth devices. The MoGo 4 has one HDMI input for an external source and a USB 2.0 port rated at 5V and 500mA output. HDMI ARC is listed in the product specifications. XGIMI also notes that HDR10 is not supported when HDMI is connected.

Connect the MoGo 4 to Wi‑Fi

Use the documented remote shortcut

  1. Turn on the MoGo 4 and wait for its interface to appear.
  2. Press the remote’s Settings button to open the shortcut menu.
  3. Select Wi‑Fi.
  4. Select the network you want to use and complete the on-screen connection prompts.

XGIMI’s Wi‑Fi support article, updated July 29, 2026, confirms the first part of this route: press Settings, then choose Wi‑Fi. The article does not publish a fixed sequence for entering a password or for every network error, and menu wording can change with software updates. Follow the prompts displayed on your particular projector rather than relying on a copied sequence from another Android TV device.

Choose between 2.4GHz and 5GHz

The projector supports both bands. A 5GHz network can be useful when the projector is relatively close to the wireless access point and you want to avoid some congestion common on 2.4GHz. A 2.4GHz network can reach farther through walls. These are general characteristics of the bands, not a measured MoGo 4 performance result; XGIMI does not publish a guaranteed range or throughput.

If the network does not appear

First verify that you opened the MoGo 4’s own Settings → Wi‑Fi panel and selected the intended network. If the network remains absent, consult the current MoGo 4 manual or XGIMI support for model-specific recovery instructions. The manufacturer’s short Wi‑Fi article does not establish a button sequence for resetting wireless settings, changing encryption, or forcing a band, so those steps should not be guessed.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

If the password is rejected

Recheck the selected network and the password exactly as shown by your router or network administrator. If the credentials are correct but the connection still fails, use the current electronic manual or XGIMI support rather than applying recovery steps written for a different projector. XGIMI says electronic manuals can be updated, and the MoGo 4 User Manual V1.0 listing was updated June 12, 2025.

Pair Bluetooth speakers or headphones to the projector

Projector-to-accessory setup

Use this path when video is playing on the MoGo 4 and you want the sound to come from an external speaker, soundbar, or headphones.

  1. Put the Bluetooth speaker or headphones into their pairing or discoverable state using the accessory’s own controls.
  2. On the MoGo 4, open All Settings.
  3. Choose Remote & Accessories.
  4. Select Pair accessory.
  5. Choose the accessory when it appears and complete the pairing prompt.

XGIMI specifically documents this menu path and identifies Bluetooth 5.1 support. Its support wording says the MoGo 4 series can search and connect with Bluetooth devices. That statement is a manufacturer capability claim, not an independent test of every speaker or headphone model.

Keep the audio direction straight

This pairing makes the projector the Bluetooth source and the external device the audio output. It does not make the projector play music sent from a phone. For phone-to-projector playback, use Atmosphere speaker mode instead.

If the accessory is not listed

Confirm that the accessory is in its pairing state and is not already connected to another nearby device. Then reopen All Settings → Remote & Accessories → Pair accessory and search again. If the accessory’s controls or indicators are unclear, follow its own pairing instructions. For a model-specific projector reset or Bluetooth cache procedure, use the current XGIMI manual or support channel; the published MoGo 4 article does not specify one.

Use the MoGo 4 as a Bluetooth speaker for a phone

Enter Atmosphere speaker mode first

Use this arrangement when a phone should send music to the projector. XGIMI calls the relevant mode Atmosphere speaker mode.

  1. Put the MoGo 4 into Atmosphere speaker mode.
  2. On the phone, open the Bluetooth settings.
  3. Search for available devices.
  4. Select the projector when it appears and confirm the connection.
  5. Start playback on the phone and adjust volume on the phone or projector as appropriate.

The important distinction is the order: the projector enters the designated speaker mode, and the phone initiates the Bluetooth search. This is the reverse of pairing a speaker or headphones to the projector.

How Ambient Light Mode fits in

XGIMI’s product information describes Ambient Light Mode as supporting Bluetooth music only and not projector music. The product page says Ambient Light Mode can be activated by long-pressing the power button when the projector is off and closed, or through the remote’s shortcut settings. Because the labels and behavior can vary with firmware, use the mode name shown on your MoGo 4. Do not select Ambient Light Mode expecting it to route normal projector playback to the internal speaker; its documented purpose is Bluetooth music playback.

Stream without an external stick

Use Google TV on the projector

The MoGo 4 includes Google TV, so many owners can install and run their preferred streaming apps directly after connecting the projector to Wi‑Fi. XGIMI’s product page also advertises Google TV with licensed Netflix. This makes a separate streaming stick optional rather than a basic requirement.

Built-in streaming is the simplest arrangement: the projector handles the network connection, app interface, and video output. It also leaves the HDMI input available for another source. An external device can still make sense if an app is unavailable in the projector’s software environment, if you prefer a particular interface, or if you want to move the same stick between displays.

Cast from Android or iPhone

XGIMI says the MoGo 4 has built-in Google Cast. From an Android or iOS device, open a media app that supports Google Cast, use that app’s cast control, and select the MoGo 4 series from the device list.

This instruction applies to supported Google Cast apps. It should not be read as a promise that every app can cast, that every phone can mirror its entire screen, or that every streaming service exposes the same control. If the cast icon is absent, check whether the particular app supports Google Cast and that the phone and projector are connected to the network required by the app.

Connect an external streaming stick through HDMI

Physical connection

  1. Connect the streaming stick’s HDMI plug to the MoGo 4’s HDMI input. The projector has one HDMI input.
  2. Connect the stick to power using its supplied adapter or another power source that meets the stick’s specification.
  3. Turn on the MoGo 4 and select the HDMI source using the projector’s input controls.
  4. Complete the stick’s own setup on screen, including its network and account prompts.

Why the projector USB port may not be enough

XGIMI states that the projector’s USB 2.0 port provides an output voltage of 5V and an output current of 500mA. That is the documented ceiling. A stick may physically plug into a convenient USB port and still draw more power than the projector can provide. If it shuts down, reboots, or fails to start, use the stick’s separate power adapter rather than assuming the projector is defective.

HDMI limits to account for

The product specifications list HDMI ARC and state that HDR10 is not supported when HDMI is connected. Therefore, an external stick can add apps or a preferred interface, but HDMI-connected video should not be expected to provide HDR10 on the MoGo 4 under the stated specification. The stick’s own video settings may offer HDR controls; those controls cannot override the projector’s documented limitation.

Which option should you choose?

Situation Recommended route Reason
You only need mainstream apps available on the projector Built-in Google TV No extra hardware, HDMI cable, or external power adapter is needed.
You browse on a phone and want to send a supported video or music app Google Cast It uses the MoGo 4’s built-in casting receiver without adding a stick.
You want an app or interface not available in Google TV External stick over HDMI The stick supplies its own software environment; plan for separate power.
You want private listening or a larger speaker Bluetooth speaker or headphones Pair from All Settings → Remote & Accessories → Pair accessory.
You want phone music from the projector Atmosphere speaker mode plus phone Bluetooth The phone searches for the projector after the projector enters the designated mode.

Troubleshoot by identifying the failing link

Wi‑Fi connection fails

  • Return to the documented path: remote Settings → Wi‑Fi.
  • Verify that you selected the intended network and entered its current password.
  • Try the other available band only if your network provides both 2.4GHz and 5GHz names.
  • If the network is missing or authentication continues to fail, consult the current MoGo 4 manual or XGIMI support. The published support article does not provide a model-specific reset sequence.

Bluetooth audio is going to the wrong place

  • For projector video sound through headphones or a speaker, pair from All Settings → Remote & Accessories → Pair accessory.
  • For phone music through the projector, enter Atmosphere speaker mode and search from the phone.
  • Do not use the second procedure when you actually need an external audio output, or the first procedure when you want the projector to receive phone audio.

The streaming stick restarts or powers off

  • Disconnect it from the projector’s USB power.
  • Use the stick’s own adapter or another supply that meets its stated requirement.
  • Remember that the MoGo 4 USB output is specified at only 5V/500mA.

Cast controls do not appear

  • Use a media app that supports Google Cast.
  • Look for the cast control inside that app rather than expecting a universal phone-mirroring switch.
  • Select the MoGo 4 series when it appears. If it does not, check the phone and projector’s network connection and consult the app’s casting help.

What is and is not established about performance

The available manufacturer material provides specifications and setup paths, not independent measurements. There is no published independent statistic here for connection success rate, real-home Wi‑Fi speed, setup time, or Bluetooth audio delay. Wi‑Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, the 5V/500mA USB rating, one HDMI input, and HDMI ARC are specifications from XGIMI; they should not be presented as laboratory performance results.

Product details can vary by region and firmware. XGIMI’s electronic manual can be updated, so use the current copy when labels on your MoGo 4 differ from the paths shown above. The model-specific User Manual V1.0 listing was updated June 12, 2025, while the Wi‑Fi support article cited for the shortcut was updated July 29, 2026.

Final setup checklist

  • Wi‑Fi: remote Settings → Wi‑Fi.
  • External Bluetooth audio: All Settings → Remote & Accessories → Pair accessory.
  • Phone audio into the projector: Atmosphere speaker mode, then search from the phone.
  • Streaming without extra hardware: use Google TV or a supported Google Cast app.
  • External streaming device: connect through HDMI and power it separately if 5V/500mA is insufficient.
  • When troubleshooting, identify whether the projector should send audio, receive audio, receive internet, or display an HDMI source; each job has a different connection path.
