To connect an MCP-compatible AI client to an API, use its hosted remote server endpoint and authorize it in your browser with OAuth. This avoids installing Node.js or running a local server. If your client requires a local process or you specifically want one, check the provider’s current support documentation for the required Node.js version and package.
Choose the remote or local connection
| Route | Where the server runs | What you need | Authentication |
|---|---|---|---|
| Remote | Provider-hosted endpoint | A client that supports remote MCP connections | Browser-based OAuth |
| Local | Your computer, launched by the client | The required Node.js version and package, according to the provider’s current support page | OAuth or an API token, depending on client and configuration |
The remote option is the simpler starting point when your MCP client supports it. Add the provider’s remote endpoint using the client’s remote-server setup, then complete the browser authorization prompt. The client’s interface and exact labels vary, so use its current instructions for adding a remote MCP server.
Choose local execution if your client requires a local stdio server or you need the server process to run in your environment. Check the provider’s support page for the current runtime and package requirements. Install and configure it using the current instructions for both the package and your chosen client; do not combine a command or setting from an older walkthrough with newer package requirements.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsSet up local authentication without mixing examples
The provider documents OAuth and API tokens. Its current support page recommends OAuth for AI agents, external tools, and multi-user or production use, while continuing to document API-token authentication. Exact token variable names and commands depend on the server version and client configuration.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The official examples do not use one consistent token variable: the support page’s generic client example shows API_TOKEN, while a provider manifest invokes the package and passes a provider-specific API token variable. A tutorial dated September 29, 2026 describes an older setup using an earlier package name and token variable, with Node.js 20 or later. Those tutorial details are not established as current defaults for the newer package.
Use the current README or configuration for your selected client and server version to determine the command, runtime requirement, and authentication variable. The provider’s support page advises passing tokens through an environment variable rather than writing the secret directly into a configuration file. Keep the token out of chats, source control, and public logs.

Connect and test the server
For a remote connection
- In your MCP client, add a remote server using the provider’s remote endpoint.
- Start the connection and complete the OAuth authorization in the browser.
- Return to the client and confirm that the server is shown as connected or available, using the client’s own status indicators.
For a local connection
- Install the Node.js version specified by the provider’s current support page.
- Follow the current package and client instructions to configure the local command, authentication, and environment variables.
- Start or refresh the server through the client’s MCP settings and check whether the client reports it as available.
Test with a read-oriented question such as “What’s the uptime of my newest VPS?” A provider tutorial also suggests asking about VPS hardware usage. A useful answer indicates that the request reached an API operation; it does not prove that every operation is authorized for your account.
If the client cannot connect or the request fails, the prompt result alone will not identify the cause. Check the client’s connection status and logs, confirm the endpoint or local command matches your chosen setup, and verify authentication and account permissions. For a token configuration, also make sure the environment variable name matches the current package and client example you followed.

What the MCP tools can do
The provider’s support documentation groups API operations behind three tools:
- search finds an operation suited to a request.
- execute runs an operation.
- multi-execute runs multiple operations in one request.
The documented product areas include websites, VPS, domains and DNS, email marketing, subscriptions and payments, and ecommerce. Which actions are available depends on the account, client configuration, and enabled product access; the list does not mean every account can perform every operation.

Use current instructions for version-sensitive details
The provider’s documentation and examples differ across generations of the setup. The current support page lists the remote endpoint, the required Node.js version, and the current package. Its official manifest uses that package with a provider-specific API token variable and indicates that OAuth is available in stdio mode when the variable is unset. The September 29, 2026 tutorial instead describes Node.js 20+, an older package, and an older token variable in its desktop-client example.
Do not assume that the older package name, runtime requirement, or variable remains supported by the newest package. For the exact local command and client setup, follow the current package README and your chosen client’s MCP documentation. Client screens and workflows can change independently of the server.
