If your Samsung PS-WF450’s LINK light is blinking, use the paired soundbar’s model-specific ID SET procedure. Samsung’s general guidance is to switch the soundbar off, hold the remote’s VOL or Up button for 5–6 seconds until “ID SET” appears, then turn the soundbar back on. A solid blue LINK light indicates that the subwoofer has connected. The correct button depends on the soundbar model, so check its manual if the steps do not match.
How to connect or re-pair the PS-WF450
Samsung says factory-coded subwoofers should connect when powered. If you have the subwoofer originally supplied with your soundbar, start by powering both units. If the LINK indicator continues to blink, use the ID SET procedure in the soundbar’s manual.
- Turn off the soundbar using its remote or power button.
- On the soundbar remote, press and hold the VOL or Up button for 5–6 seconds, until “ID SET” appears. The button varies by soundbar model.
- Turn the soundbar back on. Some models power on automatically after ID SET.
- Check the subwoofer’s LINK indicator. A solid blue light means the connection is established.
These are Samsung’s general soundbar instructions, not a PS-WF450-specific button sequence. If your remote does not show “ID SET” or the controls differ, follow the instructions for your exact soundbar model. What the LINK light means
- Blinking: Samsung identifies this as the cue to use the ID SET steps.
- Solid blue: The subwoofer is connected to the soundbar.
Check compatibility before replacing the subwoofer
The PS-WF450 is a wireless subwoofer, but wireless operation does not establish compatibility with every Samsung soundbar. Confirm the complete soundbar model and consult its manual before buying a replacement or trying to pair a unit that was not supplied with it.

Samsung’s HW-F450 support page lists a user manual for that soundbar model. That is a useful documentation route if HW-F450 is your soundbar; it does not establish that every PS-WF450 works with every soundbar. For another model, locate that exact model’s manual and follow its pairing directions.

If pairing does not work
- Confirm that you are using the soundbar’s manual, not instructions for a different model. The ID SET button may differ.
- Check whether the soundbar actually displays “ID SET” after you hold the indicated remote button.
- Verify that the LINK indicator becomes solid blue after the soundbar is turned back on.
- If the subwoofer is a replacement, verify its compatibility with the complete soundbar model before assuming it can pair.
